It’s Tuesday, June 11th, 2013…and here’s The Gouge!

First up, the latest edition of Hope ‘n Change:

But Words Will Never Hurt Me

But Words Will Never Hurt Me

Now that we’re aware that virtually all of our communications are being monitored 24/7 by the Obama administration, it’s not surprising that people are trying to think of how to present the most innocent (and non-patriotic) profiles possible in their emails, phonecalls, and Internet habits. There are so many potential keywords (and words which can be misconstrued), that a lot of people are deciding that it’s best just to avoid speaking aloud or writing about controversial topics like politics, liberty, freedom, religion, or the competency of Barack Barry Hussein Soetoro Obama.

Instead, Americans are wearing fixed (albeit nervous) grins when they talk about how great our deficit is, how terrific abortion is, and how outdated the Constitution is. Which is, after all, the actual goal of the NSA’s PRISM program (at least as it is administered under Barack Obama): not to catch terrorists, but to make ordinary citizens afraid to speak their minds or seek the truth about abuse of government power.

But Hope n’ Change would like to offer everyone a “good news / bad news” perspective… The bad news is that if you’re reading this, you’re already on Barry’s shit list and likely to be suffering government abuse in the future (if you’re not already).

But the good news is that this frees you to speak up as long and as loudly as you possibly can. Which will be our plan until the black helicopters arrive.

Funny

We expect to be on the same flight.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch with The Gang Who Still Can’t Shoot Straight, we offer this follow-up on yesterday’s item highlighting the hypocrisy of RINO Kelly Ayotte, courtesy of Daniel Horowitz writing at RedState.com:

Another Schumer Republican Who Lied to Get Elected

fnl060913a

It’s amazing how many Republicans ran for election as absolutely opposed to any form of amnesty – certainly before enforcing existing lawsSomehow within a year or two, all of them have had an epiphany.  The latest example is Senator Kelly Ayotte from New Hampshire, the third amigo in the McCain/Graham Schumer club.

In 2010, Ayotte ran strong on the issue of illegal immigration, and actually aired a number of ads lambasting her Democrat opponent on support for amnesty.  During the primary, she had a strong Tea Party challenge from Ovide Lamontagne, winning by just 1600 votes.  Needless to say, she wouldn’t have been caught dead supporting amnesty during that primary.  Here is a quick summary of some of her greatest hits in 2010, brought to you by Project Vote Smart:

  • Kelly Ayotte. News. 16 September 2010: “‘We don’t need to add, necessarily, more laws,” she said. “Let’s look at enforcing what we have on the immigration context and then measure where we are.’ Ayotte would push for illegal immigrants already living in the U.S. to be immediately deported and does not support any form of amnesty, she said.”

  • Schoenberg, Shira. 2010. Concord Monitor: Ayotte in Line with GOP Policy. 16 August 2010. “Ayotte said she would first address illegal immigration by securing the country’s borders, enforcing existing immigration laws and making English the official language of the U.S.”

  • Kelly Ayotte. Issue Position: Crime and Safety: “Kelly believes in the importance of enforcing our national borders and in ensuring only legal immigration.”

  • Kelly Ayotte. Issue Position: Immigration: “In the Senate, Kelly’s top immigration priority will be to secure our borders — no excuses. Simultaneously, she will work to ensure that existing immigration laws are enforced and is against amnesty. Kelly knows that Americans can solve any problem if they put their mind to it — and she will bring that results-oriented approach to this critical issue.”

Well, fast-forward less than three years, and Ayotte plans to vote for the worst amnesty bill ever proposed.  This, from Breitbart:

On Sunday’s Face the Nation (CBS), Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) announced she would support the Gang of Eight’s immigration reform proposal. “Our immigration system is completely broken,” she said, calling the legislation “a thoughtful, bipartisan solution to a tough problem.” She specifically singled out the bill’s loose border security requirements for praise, labeling them strong enough to prevent “another wave of illegal immigration.”

Wow – just wow.  This bill actually imposes numerous restrictions on future deportations, which, coupled with the new incentive of legalization, will ensure that there is a future wave.  The future wave will, in turn, be guaranteed automatic defacto amnesty.

BudgetDeficitDecline-Real Economic Growth

Of course, the most significant driver of all the defections is the support from the GOP Leader, Mitch McConnell.  Hey, who needs Democrats when the GOP leader is scoring points for their side anyway?

Here’s a novel idea: if all these undocumented supporters of open borders think that ‘amnesty first, enforcement never’ is such a good idea, why don’t they have the moxie to run on that platform during the election.  Why do all these people – from Rubio and Flake to McConnell, Hatch, and Ayotte – undergo such a cathartic change within a few years?

It’s time we call all the GOP offices and ask them to either vote no on cloture or stand before their constituents during the primaries and defend their real position on amnesty.  A number of these weak Republicans (along with the phony red state Democrats) are up for reelection next year.  They might think they are safe from a primary challenge, but we are still early in the cycle.  There are a number of potential candidates who may come forward over the next few months.  We look forward to seeing these brave statesmen defend their political U-turns with courage and alacrity.

As for Wile E. Ayotte, fool New Hampshire voters once…

10065_486504694752494_382656783_n

…shame on her.  Now that she’s fooled them twice, it’s on them.

And since we’re on the subject of Republican senators who had many fooled…including us…

Rubio: Legalization Will Come Before Border Security

6a00d8341c730253ef017ee87ced0e970d-800wi

“Did I just say that?!?”

We’ve been told for months by Democrats and Republicans that before amnesty is granted to more than 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States, the border will be secured. But over the weekend, Republican Senator Marco Rubio, who is part of the Gang of 8, told Univision legalization will be coming before border security.

Rubio, responding to the concern that legalization might be delayed and therefore be subjected to the policies of future administrations:

Let’s be clear. Nobody is talking about preventing the legalization. The legalization is going to happen. That means the following will happen: First comes the legalization. Then come the measures to secure the border. And then comes the process of permanent residence. What we’re talking about here is the system of permanent residence. As for the legalization, the enormous majority of my colleagues have accepted that it has to happen and that it has to begin at the same time we begin the measures for [the border]. It is not conditional. The legalization is not conditional.

The legalization is not conditional? If it isn’t, then what is? And why have we been told for months the border will be secured before amnesty and citizenship processes are started? If the border being secure in order to prevent another amnesty down the road isn’t conditional to amnesty for those already here, then what is the point?

Without border security first and legalization second, we’re looking at 1986 all over again and only setting ourselves up for another illegal immigration battle down the road. Up until now, many conservatives have shown skepticism toward the Gang of 8 legislation for this exact reason. Democrats Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin couldn’t be trusted to follow through with their promise for border security first, legalization second and with Rubio’s statements over the weekend to Univision, that promise is pretty much dead.

As a reminder:

“Our bill says that no one who is illegally here gets to even apply for a Green Card until the border plan is fully implemented.”

Yo…Marco:

Psalm 146:3 had it right: “Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.”

And in today’s edition of Idiots on Parade, Bill Cosby suggests…

We Should All Be More Like Muslims

radical-islam-shariah-lawoppression-battaile-politics-1367823608

…I’m a Christian. But Muslims are misunderstood. Intentionally misunderstood. We should all be more like them. They make sense, especially with their children. There is no other group like the Black Muslims, who put so much effort into teaching children the right things, they don’t smoke, they don’t drink or overindulge in alcohol, they protect their women, they command respect. And what do these other people do?

They complain about them, they criticize them. We’d be a better world if we emulated them. We don’t have to become black Muslims, but we can embrace the things that work.

We need people, not just in the church but in the community, who are not afraid to speak up because they want to hear a child’s laughter — not a child’s blood-curdling scream because a bullet hit them. We want them playing outside.

Bill went on to add we should also emulate another group of rabid anti-Semites: “we don’t have to become National Socialists, but we can embrace the the things that work…like the trains running on time!”

Turning now to our Money Quote, James Taranto details U.N. Ambassador-nominee Samantha Powers basis for backing Barack:

From the day I met you and you told me that you had spent a chunk of your vacation reading a long, dark book on genocide,’ Power said to the president, ‘I knew you were a different kind of leader, and I knew I wanted to work for you.

Powers is bad enough; but America should thank its lucky stars Der Obamao wasn’t reading “Where The Buffalo Roam”.

On the Lighter Side…

Then there’s this series of panoply of pointed political humor forwarded by Joe Flood:

Finally, yet another sign The Apocalypse is Upon Us:

Parents of boy who wore makeup to school push for tolerance training

z184884060

The parents of a Tampa Bay student have started an online petition asking for improved tolerance training after their son was castigated for wearing makeup on the last day of school. The Tampa Bay Times reports Chris Martin decided to wear black eyeliner, eye shadow and lipstick on the last day of eighth grade at Meadowlawn Middle School in St. Petersburg. Administrators told the 14-year-old boy he was violating the dress code.

The two women who raised the teen say they understand why his shirt’s image — an anarchy symbol and sheath — violated the code but the makeup was no different than what girls wear every day.

The district backed the principal’s decision.

BZ, district!  As for those so full of Liberal Kool-Aid to suggest this kid, given normal, heterosexual, biologic parents, would have acted similarly, wake up and drink some coffee…LOTS of coffee.
