It’s Wednesday, December 22nd, 2015…but before we begin, forget Donald Trump: Glenn Beck finally says on the air what the rest of us have been saying to each other for YEARS:

As we note at our Video of the Day in link #2 above: delusional? Yes. Dumbest SOB on the planet? Certainly an Educated Idiot. But we suggest a third possibility: an Islamofascist intent on America’s destruction!!!

Think about it: if Barack Hussein himself is not a closet Muslim, he’s certainly the most zealous Islamophile since the 2nd worst President in American history:

And since the political “spectrum” is in reality a circle, rather than polar opposites, Fascists and Communists are kissin’ cousins; or, in the words of the immortal Jim Trotter…

Which puts The Obamao and his ilk, unlike the country he’s impoverished, solidly in the black:

All of which puts us solidly with Glenn Beck…and Stilton Jarlsberg…on this one:

Now, here’s The Gouge!

First up on the last edition before Christmas, did anyone else find the Administration’s response to the inadvertent flyover of an artificial Chinese island incredibly craven?!?

The Pentagon’s Groveling Apology to China for Flying Near a Contested Island

“On November 13, President Obama claimed that ISIS was “contained.” One day later, ISIS painted bloody red lines on Paris streets. The credibility of American foreign policy took another big hit.

Then came Saturday’s Wall Street Journal report that last week, “an American B-52 bomber on a routine mission over the South China Sea unintentionally flew within two nautical miles of an artificial island [Cuarteron] built by China.”

This seemed like good news, suggesting that Obama was challenging — under cover of an “unintentional” foray — China’s imperial project in the East China and South China Seas. That would be welcome, because China’s project intends to subjugate U.S. allies, seize lucrative energy reserves, and dominate crucial trade routes. And Obama seems to realize this. At November’s APEC summit, he offered “shared commitment to the security of the waters of this region and to freedom of navigation.” In October, President Obama sent an American destroyer within twelve miles of another artificial Chinese island. My hopes in the president were misplaced.

First off, it’s telling that the White House hasn’t commented on the B-52 report. This is the administration’s go-to response for a story they want to go away (if the administration likes the story, we get leaks and Hollywood movies).

But the Pentagon’s response has been equally telling. Instead of broadcasting that America will reject China’s claims in the East China and South China Seas, and instead of asserting that American forces will of course operate in international territory, the Pentagon groveled before China, offering apologies. The Journal reports that the B-52 aircrew is being investigated and that the Pentagon is hinting that “bad weather” led the crew to make a mistake. It’s Scapegoating 101.

Unfortunately, this supplication to China is also Strategic Incompetence 101. First, as evidenced by this situation, if the U.S. is unwilling to operate over international waters without qualification, those waters become Chinese. This yields the strategic initiative to China…

Regardless, this incident encapsulates President Obama’s foreign-policy absurdity. After all, while China carves its empire, Obama continues to claim that his China policy is successful. This success is proven, he says, by China’s pledge to try to cap its carbon emissions by 2030. It’s an unbinding, unenforceable pledge from a socialist kleptocracy…”

In a related item detailing the Pentagon’s surrender to the forces of the Dark Side, writing at NRO, David French details a story you quite literally have to read to believe:

How Our Overly Restrictive Rules of Engagement Keep Us from Winning Wars

rules-of-engagement-reform-100

“…It wasn’t uncommon to encounter “squirters” — small groups of insurgents who try to sneak or race through American lines and disappear into the desert. Sometimes they were on motorcycles, sometimes on foot, but often they were in cars, armed to the teeth and ready to fight to the death. On occasion the squirters weren’t insurgents at all — just harmless, terrified civilians trying to escape a deadly war.

This evening, however, our troopers believed that the car ahead wasn’t full of civilians. The driver was too skilled, his tactics too knowing for a carload of shepherds. As the car disappeared into the night, the senior officer on the scene radioed for permission to fire.

His request went to the TOC, the tactical operations center, which is the beating heart of command and control in the battlefield environment. There the “battle captain,” or the senior officer in the chain of command, would decide — shoot or don’t shoot…

But first there was a call for the battle captain to make, all the way to brigade headquarters, where a JAG officer (Or in this case, a JAG-off!) — an Army lawyer — was on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. His job was to analyze the request, apply the governing rules of engagement, and make a recommendation to the chain of command.

While the commander made the ultimate decision, he rarely contradicted JAG recommendations. After all, if soldiers opened fire after a lawyer had deemed the attack outside the rules, they would risk disciplineeven prosecutionif the engagement went awry.

Acting on the best available information — including a description of the suspect vehicle, a description of its tactics, analysis of relevant intelligence, and any available video feeds — the JAG officer had to determine whether there was sufficient evidence of “hostile intent” to authorize the use of deadly force. He had to make a life-or-death decision in mere minutes. (After all, aren’t lawyers better judges of life-and-death situations than trained, combat-experienced infantry officers?!?)

In this case, the lawyer said noinsufficient evidence. No deadly force. Move to detain rather than shoot to kill. The commander deferred. No shot. Move to detain.

So the chase continued, across roads and open desert. The suspect vehicle did its best to shake free, but at last it was cornered by converging American forces. There was no escape. Four men emerged from the car. American soldiers dismounted from their MRAPs, and with one man in the lead, weapons raised, they ordered the Iraqis to surrender. Those who were in the TOC that night initially thought someone had stepped on a land mine.

Watching on video feed, they saw the screen go white, then black. For several agonizing minutes, no one knew what had happened. Then the call came. Suicide bomber. One of the suspects had self-detonated, and Americans were hurt. One badlyvery badly. Despite desperate efforts to save his life, he died just before he arrived at a functioning aid station. Another casualty of the rules of engagement…”

As we’re at a loss for words, we’ll let the brilliant, biting wit of Stilton Jarlsberg again do our talking:

Along with the sorry-ass sycophants in the ranks of our senior Military who continue to do his bidding.  Seriously, folks; such policies aren’t only counterproductive to the success of the mission at hand and diametrically-opposed to the health, safety and morale of our combat forces, they’re absolutely…

Next up, courtesy of Townhall.com, Katie Pavlich recounts the latest absurdity uttered by The Dear Misleader:

Obama Claims ISIS Can’t Change U.S. In a “Systematic Way

Aloha Akbar 1

“…In a new interview with NPR, President Obama is claiming that not only is ISIS incapable of destroying the United States, but that the terror army cannot systematically change how America operates.

Just weeks after the shooting in San Bernardino, President Obama is seeking to downplay the reach and impact of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), saying America’s strength is “not threatened” by the extremist group.

“This is not an organization that can destroy the United States,” Mr. Obama told NPR in an interview released Monday. “This is not a huge industrial power that can pose great risks to us institutionally or in a systematic way.” (Then again, when you really get down to it, neither did Germany or Japan!)

In the interview, Obama also said this:

“They can hurt us, and they can hurt our people and our families. And so I understand why people are worried.” (Soooo…like another well-known serial liar, he…

Barack-Obama-Golfing-Ignoring-Terrorists-Beheading

…feels our pain?!?)

But the president remains “confident” that the U.S. will prevail over the terror group at home and abroad: “We are pounding ISIL’s core structure in Syria and Iraq. We have put together a coalition that is increasingly effective. We have seen ISIL lose about 40 percent of its populated territory in the region.”

“The most damage they can do, though, is if they start changing how we live and what our values are,” he continued. If Americans “remember who we are and make sure that our resilience, our values, and our unity are maintained,” the president pledged that “ISIL will be defeated.”

Yes…just before he headed out on another taxpayer-funded Christmas golf trip to Hawaii.  B. Hussein’s incredible insensitivity brings to mind a classic scene from The Outlaw Josey Wales, as Captain “Redlegs” Terrell contemplates the cost…to others…of his dogged pursuit of another unsuccessful and demonstrably-doomed strategy:

Moving on, in the “Oldie But Goodie” segment courtesy of Bob “The Penguin” Chagares, we offer this 2009 quote from Burt Prelutsky: proof that while the good things in life never change, the bad things always hang around to haunt you:

“Frankly, I don’t know what it is about California, but we seem to have a strange urge to elect really obnoxious women to high office. I’m not bragging, you understand, but no other state, including Maine, even comes close. When it comes to sending left-wing dingbats to Washington, we’re Number One.  There’s no getting around the fact that the last time anyone saw the likes of Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, Maxine Waters, and Nancy Pelosi, they were stirring a cauldron when the curtain went up on ‘Macbeth’. The four of them are like jackasses who happen to possess the gift of blab. You don’t know if you should condemn them for their stupidity or simply marvel at their ability to form words.

Truer words were never written…or spoken…other than Glenn Beck in the video at the top of today’s offering.

Then there’s what we can only term a real head-scratcher from a Christian leader we deeply respect:

Evangelist Franklin Graham slams, quits GOP

1479289_630519240327996_27404512_n

“Evangelist Franklin Graham announced Tuesday he is leaving the Republican Party over the GOP-led spending bill passed last week, calling it “wasteful” and likening funding of Planned Parenthood to Nazi concentration camps. “Shame on the Republicans and the Democrats for passing such a wasteful spending bill last week,” he said.  “And to top it off, funding Planned Parenthood!”

So far, so good.  But now, to borrow a term from Shakespeare, comes the rub:

Graham, who has supported GOP White House hopeful Donald Trump as well as embraced his controversial call to ban Muslims from the U.S., said he’s lost faith in the political system. “I have no hope in the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, or Tea Party to do what is best for America,” he wrote. “Unless more godly men and women get in this process and change this wicked system, our country is in for trouble.”

Look, we appreciate Franklin’s frustration.  But if the answer to placing “more godly men and women” in the political process is…

…the thrice-divorced Donald “Three Strikes Y’re OUT!” Trump, not to mention his sympathizing soulmate…

…then we didn’t understand the question!

Sorry Ladies and Gentlemen: though we’re all sinners justified only by the grace of God through His Son Jesus Christ, a man who will cheat on his wife is capable of anything.
