It’s Wednesday, April 6th, 2016…but before we begin, a headline which is all too typical of what’s become the routine sensationalization of news stories:
“A helicopter crash that killed all five people on board touched off a massive wildfire in the Great Smoky Mountains in eastern Tenneessee Monday.
Nathan Waters, a spokesperson for the Tennessee Forestry Division, told WBIR-TV that the blaze burned two to three acres. Waters said the fire had been mostly contained by 8:45 p.m. local time, more than five hours after the Bell 206 helicopter crashed near Sevierville…”
How on earth could anyone describe a fire which burned only two to three acres in approximately five hours a “wildfire“, let alone “massive“?!? We guess five people dying in a helicopter crash isn’t enough of a story in today’s 24/7 news cycle.
Is it any wonder people trust what they get from the MSM about as much as what comes out of Washington?!?

First up, as the nominal Misleader of the Free World pretends not to see what’s as obvious to the rest of us as the ears on his head and the booty on Moochie…
…as FOX News reports, those dedicated to destroying everything he’s supposedly sworn to protect and defend continue to practice what their “religion” truly preaches:
“The murders of four translators working to bring the Bible to obscure languages in the Middle East earlier this month won’t stop the charity behind the effort from its work, officials said.
The four unidentified translators, who worked secretly for Wycliffe Associates, a Florida non-profit dedicated to bringing the gospel to hundreds of obscure languages, were killed by suspected Islamist militants at an undisclosed location,Wycliffe officials said in a statement. “They shot and destroyed all the equipment in the office,” read the statement. “The invaders burned all the books and other translation materials in the office.”
The work is so dangerous that Wycliffe Associates President Bruce Smith will not even say what country the office was in or give the names of those killed. He did say the attackers shot two workers to death and beat two more to death with emptied guns as they used their bodies to shield a senior translator who survived.
Officials for Wycliffe Associates said hard drives containing the translation work for eight different language projects may be salvageable. “The remaining translation team has decided to re-double their efforts to translate, publish, and print God’s word for these eight language communities.”
The attack highlights the recent wave of genocide against Christians in places like the Middle East and Europe. “The attack on translators shows how dangerous it is for Christians,” Ryan Mauro, a national security analyst for the Clarion Project, told FoxNews.com. “Translators know the language and are usually familiar with the territory and population. Yet, even they are at high risk of death simply for being Christian. There is no how-to guide for survival that a Christian can follow.”
…“Even when tragedy strikes, as in this case, the testimony of Christ is loud and clear,” Smith also said in his statement to FoxNews.com. “Yes, there is a tremendous cost. But as Tertullian, an early Church father, said – the blood of martyrs are the seeds of the church.”…”
Two thoughts: first, as martyred missionary Jim Elliot so aptly noted, “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.”
Second, this latest act of unprovoked homicidal madness provides an accurate assessment of what we’re up against: good versus evil at their most basic. And we’ve got a President playing for the other side; that, or perhaps he’s so busy vacationing, golfing and/or attacking his true enemies, he hasn’t the time to notice, let alone mention this latest example of the peace inherent in Islam!

“A UN-funded Palestinian charity planted more than 200 olive trees in the West Bank over the weekend, each to honor a terrorist who killed or attacked Israeli citizens in the ongoing “knife intifada.”
The Union of Agricultural Work Committees planted the trees to honor men and women who have died while committing numerous stabbings, shootings and vehicular attacks that have killed 34 and wounded more than 400 Israelis since they began in September. The event marked the 40th anniversary of “Land Day,” a Palestinian holiday marking protests of Israel’s decision to take land in Galilee for settlements.
“Through this event, we want to convey the message that we will hold on to the land, and that we will not forget the martyrs who sacrificed [their lives],” said a spokesman for the committee, Aghsan Barghouti, according to a translation provided by Palestinian Media Watch…”

Kasich Medicaid Expansion Could Cost Taxpayers $27.5 Billion By 2020
We knew this was coming. In fact, anyone who has ever crunched the numbers for Medicaid expansion knows that the government health care program is a budget buster. The Foundation for Government Accountability has noted that on average, a state legislature needs to find two to three dollars in cuts in their receptive budgets just to save one dollar in Medicaid spending.
In Virginia, about a quarter of doctors aren’t accepting new Medicaid recipients. In fact, a 2011 University of Virginia Study showed that those without insurance actually fared better than those enrolled in this government program. But, alas, those who support hitching onto this public policy bandwagon, which is a key component of Obamacare, is due to the misconception that it helps the poor–and that it’s free money. Well, there is no such thing as free money, and most of the new people who are eligible for Medicaid benefits are able-bodied, childless adults who don’t work. Yet, back to Ohio, it’s Medicaid expansion has already run over budget, as Jason Hart ofWatchdog wrote last month:
Ohio Gov. John Kasich’s expansion of Medicaid under the 2010 federal health law has cost taxpayers $7 billion in a little more than two years. The federal government — which is $19 trillion in debt — paid $390 million for Ohio Medicaid expansion benefits in February, bringing the program’s total cost since January 2014 to $7.1 billion.
Kasich frames his Obamacare expansion as a fiscally responsible way to keep drug addicts and the mentally ill out of prison, even as costs zoom past his projections. The expansion was $1.5 billion over budget after 18 months.
“Ohio’s Obamacare expansion has already run $3.1 billion over budget and is on track to run nearly $8 billion over budget by the end of next year,” Jonathan Ingram, research director at the free-market Foundation for Government Accountability, told Watchdog.org. “Finding the funding to pay for those overruns will mean fewer resources for education, public safety, and care for the most vulnerable,” Ingram said.
Kasich’s Obamacare expansion cost an average of $391 million per month — more than $1.5 billion per quarter — during the past six months. At this rate, expansion will cost $14.1 billion by August 2017 and $27.5 billion by June 2020.

Man accused of stealing candy could get 20 years to life
A man is facing a possible 20 years to life in prison after being accused of stealing $31 worth of candy bars from a New Orleans store. The New Orleans Advocate reported 34-year-old Jacobia Grimes pleaded not guilty in court on Thursday.
Orleans Parish prosecutors chose to charge Grimes under a statute that boosts the alleged candy theft to a felony. The law applies to those who’ve been convicted of “theft of goods” at least twice before. Grimes has five prior theft convictions, making him a “quad” offender under the state’s habitual-offender law, and facing 20 years to life. Grimes’ attorneys, Miles Swanson and Michael Kennedy, said his prior guilty pleas were for similar shoplifting attempts.
Two thoughts: first, we thought “quad” referred to “four”, but hey, maybe Cajuns count differently. Second, 20-to-life seems a little harsh for stealing candy bars, particularly as, in the eyes of The Left, Mr. Grimes is performing a public service of sorts by decreasing the availability of candy to the obese children of New Orleans. Hells bells, if Nannystaters like Moochie, Boobberg and DeBlowmeo had their way, anyone producing, marketing or consuming sweets would be doing time!

“A Russian woman is being held on the suspicion of killing her German husband and feeding bits of him to their dog at their home on Mallorca. Svetlana Batukova, 46, is in police custody after she was found next to the bloody corpse of her husband named locally as Horst Hans Henkels on Friday.
A post mortem on Saturday revealed that the German had bled to death after being repeatedly stabbed with a kitchen knife. Flesh from his arms had reportedly been cut off and fed to the couple’s dog, an American Staffordshire bull terrior…”
