It’s Tuesday, November 22nd, 2016…and it was 53 years ago today an assassin’s bullet…

Progressives’ Anti-Christian Bigotry Helped Make Trump President

They have only themselves to blame for driving away millions of Evangelicals*

*  But curiously enough, not a significant number of Roman Catholics!

“…Millions of American Christians understand that if you work for a state or local governments — or even for private companies — publicly vocalizing traditional Christian views of sexual morality can cost you your job, even as outspoken support for radically new sexual morality is lauded.

If you start a Christian group on campus, administrators by the hundreds will deem you “discriminatory” and “bigoted” for daring to assert that it should be run by Christians. Meanwhile, liberal activist groups operate with impunity, often coordinating their well-funded efforts with university administrators and faculty.

If you attend a Christian college, secular-progressive academic regulators may well pressure your university to break with Christian orthodoxy as a condition of receiving state funds or even of maintaining accreditation. (Sanctuary cities, take heed: turnabout is fair play!)

basket-of-deplorables-hillary-appaul-sakuma-640x480

Despite being in her basket of deplorables, 50% of Catholics still voted for this spawn of Satan.

If you’re a Christian who runs a business, you’re exactly one decision or one statement away not just from vicious social-media shame campaigns and boycotts but also from vengeful state action that could close your store and bankrupt your family.

If you’re a Christian applying for a job in higher education, you can expect doors to be slammed in your face, less-qualified candidates to enjoy greater opportunities, and hostile faculties and administrations to sometimes ask probing or even illegal questions about your “bigotry.”

If you’re a church pastor, you must wonder which of your ministries could be attacked by local activists, and whether the very act of serving the poorest and most vulnerable citizens is perversely opening your church to legal attack.

In short, orthodox Christians feel as if they’re under cultural and legal siege because they are. Sixteen years ago, when I first starting defending religious liberty and free speech on college campuses, I would speak at churches and describe a mindset in which campus administrators and activists actively compared faithful-Christian student groups to the Ku Klux Klan. Audiences shook their heads in disbelief. They couldn’t imagine such a hysterical onslaught, and it felt distant, removed from their daily lives. No one shakes their head now…”

Just ask Christians in Canada or the U.K.  But if you’re Muslim, well now…

The reality regarding the Dimocrats’ mindset and policies is undeniable, as demonstrated by the following two illustrations:

They’re as anti-whatever-the-Founding Fathers-stood-for as Lenin himself.  What’s perhaps more amazing is the speed with which they shed any pretense…

…of a disguise.  Compare Der Schlickmeister’s stance on illegal immigration in his 1995 SOTU address as featured in our Video of the Day (accessible through link #1 above) with any Progressive’s position today.

Speaking of those disseminating deliberate Dimocratic deception, witness the reaction of long-time Chicago congressman Danny Davis to the murder of his grandson over a pair of basketball shoes:

grandson-of-us-house-member-fatally-shot-in-chicago-home-invasion

“Davis also said that his grandson was a victim of a world where gun violence has become commonplace. “It’s almost, just the way it is. People think nothing of it,” Davis said. “Youngsters invariably say, ‘I know a lot of guys who’ve got guns. I know a lot of girls who’ve got guns.” Davis added, “It becomes a part of the culture of an environment that has got to change.”

“The question becomes where does a 15-year-old obtain a gun? (Strawbuyers who are never prosecuted comes to mind!) Who let the 15-year-old have a gun and under what circumstances?” Davis asked. There’s no answer for that except that the availability of guns is so prevalent in America to the point where you almost can’t tell who has a gunanymore…”

Yes, Congressman, the culture does need to change: the Black ghetto culture, which dominates every, single urban enclavecreated by Lyndon Baines Johnson and his hopelessly misnamed Great Society and perpetuated by the policies of Progressives like YOU!!!

That being said…and it needs to be said…we grieve with Danny Davis and his family over the senseless slaughter of young Jovan Wilson.

But what’s been observed countless times before bears repeating…

over and over until Liberals stop blaming inanimate objects for crimes committed by corporeal beings.

Since we’re on the subject of Liberal legend eternalized as truth:

McCain To Trump: I’ll Take You To Court If You Start Waterboarding Terror Suspects Again

27532c32-1

“President-elect Donald J. Trump made no attempt to hide that fact that he would not hesitate to deploy waterboarding techniques suspected terrorists during interrogation. That point was made clear in December of 2015 at a rally in Columbus, Ohio.

“Would I approve waterboarding? You bet your ass I would — in a heartbeat. And I would approve more than that. Don’t kid yourself, folks. It works, okay? It works. Only a stupid person would say it doesn’t work,” he said.”

mccain_graham

Stupid is as stupid does; or, meet Tweedledumb and Tweedledumber!

The method, which simulates drowning, has been criticized as a form of torture. The enhanced interrogation method was used by the Bush administration, much to the ire of liberal Democrats. Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who was subject to torture while held captive by the North Vietnamese, vehemently opposes the method and said that he would bring the Trump administration into court to stop them if the program is reinstated. He made the warning at the Halifax International Security Forum (via Talking Points Memo):

“I don’t give a damn what the president wants to do,” he said. “We will not waterboard. We will not torture people.”McCain went even further to say that anyone who brought back waterboarding would be in court in a “New York minute.”

“If they started waterboarding, I swear to you that we’d have them in court in a New York minute,” McCain said.

There is some debate as to the effectiveness of the method. (Not among those who’ve either experienced or witnessed it!) McCain has vociferously stressed that waterboarding doesn’t work, and that anyone who says so is a liar…”

Having personally experienced the effectiveness of “The Device” as part of SERE school (where waterboarding was used as a harmless yet 99.99% effective alternative to the far more painful torment POW’s could expect from our enemies), we can say with utter certainty it’s McCain who’s the liar.

Then again, what should one expect from a man who, immediately upon release from the Hanoi Hilton, ditched his disabled wife for a buxom beer heiress?!?

Next up, courtesy of Best of the Web, James Taranto describes how America faces…

A Crisis of Authority—II

The people have spoken. Obama is speaking back.

64743122

“It’s true that Obama has not melted down in public the way many on the liberal left have. But Lederman overstates the case. On that foreign trip, as well as in a lengthy series of interviews, both pre- and post-election, with the New Yorker’s David Remnick, Obama has been quite fretful—torn, as at that press conference, between his duty as a lame-duck president to respect the office and the man who will soon hold it, and his anguish at what amounts to a repudiation of authority.

Here we mean not Obama’s authority as president, which he will continue to exercise until Trump is sworn in on at noon on Jan. 20. Rather, what the voters repudiated was the authority of what Obama stands for, which we described in a 2013 column:

The left-liberal elite that attained cultural dominance between the 1960s and the 1980s—and that since 2008 has seen itself as being on the cusp of political dominance as well—is undergoing a crisis of authority, and its defenses are increasingly ferocious and unprincipled. Journalists lie or ignore important but politically uncongenial stories. Scientists suppress alternative hypotheses. Political organizations bully apolitical charities. The Internal Revenue Service persecutes dissenters. And campus censorship goes on still.

The first link in that passage is to a column a few days earlier, titled “A Crisis of Authority,” in which we first developed the theme. Hillary Clinton’s victory was supposed to be a more or less permanent ratification of the liberal elite’s authority. Voters had another idea.

In his comments over the past week, Obama has sounded some of the same themes we discussed back in 2013. He told Remnick: “Ideally, in a democracy, everybody would agree that climate change is the consequence of man-made behavior, because that’s what ninety-nine per cent of scientists tell us.” The 2009 revelations from the East Anglia emails that scientists had manipulated data and used the peer-review process? Down the memory hole.

Remnick himself described the Obama presidency as “two terms long on dignity and short on scandal.” The IRS? The State Department scandal that arguably sank Mrs. Clinton’s campaign? Again, the memory hole.

fba0556505aebb08c77f34d1cec1a761

In Lima on Sunday the president himself declared: “I am extremely proud of the fact that over eight years we have not had the kinds of scandals that have plagued other administrations.” That’s either delusional or very carefully worded (or a deliberate missstatement of the truth…which constitutes a lie!): To our knowledge no other administration has used the IRS to punish ordinary citizens for dissent, nor faced FBI findings that the secretary of state treated classified information in an “extremely careless” fashion.

Also in Lima, the president complained of “elections that aren’t focused on issues and are full of fake news and false information and distractions.” That’s the latest left-liberal excuse; a Sunday New York Times editorial was titled “Facebook and the Digital Virus Called Fake News”—which is awfully rich coming from the editorial board that blamed the massacres in both Tucson and Orlando on conservatives, and from the paper that in 2008 called self-described “fake news anchor” Jon Stewart “the most trusted man in America.”

Meanwhile, the Times’s new public editor, Liz Spayd, faults “the media” for “turning [Trump’s] remarks into a grim caricature that it applied to those who backed him. What struck me is how many liberal voters I spoke with felt so, too. They were Clinton backers, but, they want a news source that fairly covers people across the spectrum.”

If you’d told us in 2013, when we identified the problem of liberal-left authoritarianism, that Donald Trump would be the solution, we’d have laughed along with everyone else. But he was probably a necessary corrective. The left has waged asymmetric political warfare, routinely traducing the same norms it was demanding its opponents respect. Trump beat them at their own game, and that might have been the only way it could be done.

To paraphrase our old buddy Bill Meisen, Trump’s election brought us no joy…but we’re elated at the bitchslapping he gave…

Finally, we’ll call it a wrap with yet another…titillating tale…in the Feminazi segment, and this just in from Stockholm via George Lawlor and HeatStreet:

‘Feminist’ Snow-Plowing System Brings Stockholm to a Standstill

One needn’t speak Swedish to understand political correctness caused this catastrophe!

“A “feminist” strategy for clearing the roads of snow in Stockholm ended in failure as the city ground to a halt in recent days. A new system, suggested by progressive politicians in the Swedish city, tore up tried and tested snow plow routes and diverted them to areas said to be used more by women.

But the inevitable consequence was that other spaces – like main roads – were clogged up for longer, and it became impossible to get around. Meanwhile, raging snow is bringing Stockholm traffic to a halt…Public transport failed, traffic piled up and injuries requiring a hospital visit reportedly spiked. The disaster struck despite a $270,000 increase in this year’s snow removal budget meant to help the new system succeed.

The “gender equal” strategy came in last year after politicians in the Swedish Green Party argued that the old way of clearing major roads in central areas favours men, who are more likely to work in the city, and get there by car. Instead, the plows were sent to clear out sidewalks and cycle paths – on the basis that women walk and bike often. They also focused on areas like kindergartens, which children and parents visit in the morning.

…Unfortunately, the theory did little to save Stockholm when a bumper snowfall hit at the end of last week. Indeed, almost a week later buses are still struggling to run, and some 1,700 public transport passengers are planning to sue. Progressive politicians have gone on the defensive, with the MP who suggested it claiming that the snow plows hadn’t executed the “gender-equal” plan properly…”

Proof positive…
