text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox6now.com\/news\/milwaukee-shootings-homicides-police-051322\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">already responded<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>\u00a0to five separate shootings across the city, which left a total of three people dead and two injured.<\/span><\/strong>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here&#8217;s the juice: We&#8217;re of the mind the Detroit Don had it right:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2D_zITtVJGA?start=223&amp;end=226&amp;\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Turns out the anarchic elements populating America&#8217;s urban centers don&#8217;t require an excuse like the death of a career criminal from a drug overdose while in police custody to engage in rioting and mayhem.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In a related item, we cannot remember &#8220;government authorities&#8221;, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/buffalo-shooting-suspect-payton-gendron-threat-school-mental-health\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>most notably Merrick Garland<\/em><\/span><\/a>, or\u00a0<em>Reuters <\/em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>ever<\/em><\/span>\u00a0immediately attributing a motive of racist violent extremism to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Black<\/em><\/span> mass-murderers, which of course didn&#8217;t prevent either Buffalo officials, the Attorney General or the Progressive propaganda outlet from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/gunman-who-killed-10-ny-supermarket-attack-was-authorities-radar-2022-05-15\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>jumping the gun a bit on the White shooter in Buffalo<\/em><\/span><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Now, here&#8217;s <em>The Gouge<\/em>!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>First up, courtesy of the <em>WSJ<\/em> via Keith Calcotte, Barton Swaim explains&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"wsj-article-headline\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/how-disagreement-became-disinformation-misinformation-nina-jankowicz-governance-board-czar-11652450632?mod=opinion_lead_pos5\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\">How Disagreement Became \u2018Disinformation<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u2019<\/span><\/h1>\n<h3 class=\"sub-head\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/how-disagreement-became-disinformation-misinformation-nina-jankowicz-governance-board-czar-11652450632?mod=opinion_lead_pos5\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #333399; text-decoration: underline;\">America\u2019s enlightened influencers mistake their interpretations of the facts for the facts themselves, giving themselves an excuse for censorship<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #333399;\">.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/biden-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-102044\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/biden-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"425\" height=\"288\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/biden-2.png 425w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/biden-2-300x203.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 425px) 100vw, 425px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>The preoccupation with \u201cmisinformation\u201d and \u201cdisinformation\u201d on the part of America\u2019s enlightened influencers last month reached the level of comedy. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">The Department of Homeland Security chose a partisan scold, Nina Jankowicz, to head its new Disinformation Governance Board despite her history of promoting false stories and repudiating valid ones\u2014the sort of scenario only a team of bumblers or a gifted satirist could produce.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Less funny but similarly paradoxical was Barack Obama\u2019s April 21\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a class=\"icon none\" style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/techpolicy.press\/transcript-barack-obama-speech-on-technology-and-democracy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">address<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>\u00a0lamenting online disinformation, in which he propounded at least one <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">easily disprovable assertion<\/span><\/em>. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">Tech companies, the former president said, \u201cshould be working with, not always contrary to, those groups that are trying to prevent voter suppression [that] specifically has targeted black and brown communities.\u201d<\/span> There is <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">no evidence<\/span><\/em> of voter suppression in \u201cblack and brown communities\u201d and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>plenty<\/em><em> of evidence<\/em><\/span> of the contrary, inasmuch as black and Latino voter participation reached <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>record levels<\/em><\/span> in the 2020 election.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">One of the great ironies of American political life in the 2020s is that the people most exercised about the spread of false information are frequently peddlers of it.<\/span> Their lack of self-understanding arises from the belief that the primary factor separating their side from the other side isn\u2019t ideology, principle or moral vision but\u00a0<em>information<\/em>\u2014raw data requiring no interpretation and no argument over its importance. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">It is a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>hopelessly simpleminded worldview<\/em><\/span>\u2014no one apprehends reality without the aid of interpretive lenses.<\/span> And it is a <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">dangerous one<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>The roots of this self-deceiving outlook are complicated but worth a brief look<\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trust us when we tell you the article in full is well worth your time, yet we still would respectfully disagree with the author on one point, namely, while Barton admittedly gives the &#8220;new censors&#8221;, including The Obamao, the benefit of the doubt, attributing their material misrepresentations of the truth as sincere misinterpretations of facts based on their own experiences, we&#8217;re of the opinion they <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>know<\/em><\/span> they&#8217;re lying, and continue to do so in the willing service of their master.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/6ga29g.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-102060\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/6ga29g.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"236\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/6ga29g.jpeg 420w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/6ga29g-300x169.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rather it&#8217;s just another son who resembles his father, in this case, the Father of Lies.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Swaim&#8217;s analysis ties in nicely with a conversation we had over the weekend with a G. While we&#8217;re not surprised <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/05\/12\/opinions\/democrats-problem-parent-voters-education-midterms-ham\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Mary Katherine Ham\u00a0penned it<\/em><\/span><\/a>, we&#8217;re shocked&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/6ga6wj.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-102064\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/6ga6wj.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"237\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/6ga6wj.jpeg 420w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/6ga6wj-300x169.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>&#8230;<em>CNN<\/em> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>published<\/em><\/span> it!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>(2). Claiming unusually hot weather has created &#8220;record demand&#8221; across Texas, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), which manages the majority of the state&#8217;s power grid, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/texas-power-grid-operator-residents-conserve-energy-plants-go-offline\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">is asking residents of the Lone Star State to &#8220;conserve power when they can by setting their thermostats to 78-degrees or above and avoiding the usage of large appliances (such as dishwashers, washers and dryers) during peak hours between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. through the weekend<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/a>.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>(3). <em>FOX<\/em> reports in an <em>MSDNC<\/em> opinion column Friday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/msnbc-column-claims-homeschooling-racist-part-extreme-evangelical-war-dismantle-public-schools\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">columnist Anthea Butler warned about homeschooling being a &#8220;project&#8221; of evangelicals\u2019 &#8220;war against public schools,&#8221; one that also has &#8220;inidious&#8221; racist roots<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/a>.\u00a0 Unlike, of course, Planned Parenthood, founded by noted eugenicist Margaret Sanger, which has <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>actually, demonstrably and directly<\/em><\/span>\u00a0caused the disproportionate murder of Black babies.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>(4). Since we&#8217;re on the wholesale slaughter of the unborn, courtesy of <em>Townhall.com<\/em>, pollster Scott Rasmussen suggests <a href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/tipsheet\/rebeccadowns\/2022\/05\/14\/poll-on-abortion-n2607243\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>to get a true sense of public opinion it\u2019s necessary to ask polling questions without D.C. political jargon<\/em><\/span><\/a>.\u00a0 For example when asked the right question, fully <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>65 percent<\/em><\/span>\u00a0of Americans believe &#8220;voters and their elected representatives&#8221; should decide the issue of abortion, versus a mere <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>18 percent<\/em><\/span>\u00a0who chose &#8220;judges and courts&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>As Arjun Singh notes of Dimocrats at <em>NRO<\/em>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">&#8220;&#8230;<strong>the party is deluded if it thinks abortion is a winning issue. Just look at the numbers. Merely\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.cdn.yougov.com\/fj2j7o3ojc\/econTabReport.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-testid=\"standard-link\">4 percent of voters<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>, per a recent\u00a0<em>Economist<\/em>\/<em>YouGov<\/em> poll, consider abortion their top issue for November\u2019s midterms. In the pre-election news cycle, there\u2019s no escaping record-high inflation, massive illegal immigration, and a string of domestic- and foreign-policy defeats (e.g., BBB and the Afghanistan withdrawal) that have dropped Biden\u2019s approval ratings down to about 38 percent. Even then, per a recent\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/corner\/wsj-poll-shows-public-support-for-15-week-abortion-bans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-testid=\"dynamic-link\">Harvard Harris poll<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>56 percent<\/em><\/span> of voters believe that abortion should be <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">restricted in some form<\/span><\/em> after 15 weeks of pregnancy. This is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>precisely<\/em><\/span> what Mississippi\u2019s abortion law at the heart of the\u00a0<em>Dobbs\u00a0<\/em>case <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>would do<\/em><\/span>, and that, per the leaked draft, the Supreme Court <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">would have upheld<\/span><\/em>. If these numbers hold, any campaign based on abortion rights will fall far short of what\u2019s needed to turn the tide.<\/strong>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>(5). Courtesy of our old friends and classmates Breeze Gould and George Lawlor, <em>FOX<\/em> informs us <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/middle-schoolers-sexual-harassment-gender-pronouns\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>three Wisconsin boys are facing sexual harassment charges<\/em><\/span><\/a> over an incident in March when they purportedly used incorrect gender pronouns when referring to a fellow student who had announced a preference of &#8220;they&#8221; and &#8220;them&#8221;.\u00a0 To which we can only express, if you&#8217;ll pardon Colonel Slade&#8217;s French, a hale and hearty&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\"
