text-decoration: underline;\">Her 2016 campaign manager says she approved a plan to plant a false Russia claim with a reporter<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #333399;\">.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/6h06my.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-102192\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/6h06my.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"420\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/6h06my.jpeg 420w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/6h06my-150x150.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/6h06my-300x300.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>The Russia-Trump collusion narrative of 2016 and beyond was a dirty trick for the ages, and now we know it came from the top\u2014candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">That was the testimony Friday by 2016 Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook in federal court, and while this news is <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">hardly a surprise<\/span><\/em>, it\u2019s still bracing to find <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>her fingerprints<\/em><\/span> on the political weapon.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8230;<\/span><strong>In short, the Clinton campaign created the Trump-Alfa allegation, fed it to a credulous press that failed to confirm the allegations but ran with them anyway, then promoted the story as if it was legitimate news. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">The campaign also delivered the claims to the FBI, giving journalists another excuse to portray the accusations as serious and perhaps true.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Most of the press will ignore this news, but the Russia-Trump narrative that Mrs. Clinton sanctioned did enormous harm to the country. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">It disgraced the FBI, humiliated the press, and sent the country on a three-year investigation to nowhere.\u00a0<\/span>Vladimir Putin\u00a0never came close to doing as much disinformation damage.<\/strong><\/span>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>As surprising as Mook&#8217;s testimony was, what&#8217;s even more shocking is the fact he lived to give it.\u00a0 For those interested, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/podcasts\/opinion-potomac-watch\/a-hillary-clinton-bombshell-at-the-sussmann-trial\/f2d06621-b9cd-41db-8c00-848b48572c18\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>this installment of Potomac Watch featuring Kim Strassel, Paul Gigot and Kate Bachelder Odell<\/em><\/span><\/a> explores this unsurprising revelation in detail.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Next, responding to the Dimocrats&#8217; attempts to distract from the havoc they&#8217;re wreaking on the country, <em>NRO<\/em>&#8216;s Kevin Williamson relates the reality that&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"article-header__title\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/corner\/even-our-white-supremacists-arent-very-interested-in-white-supremacy\/?utm_source=recirc-desktop&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=right-rail&amp;utm_content=top-stories&amp;utm_term=second\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #333399; text-decoration: underline;\">Even Our White Supremacists Aren\u2019t Very Interested in White Supremacy<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/6h45up.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-102228\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/6h45up.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/6h45up.jpeg 420w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/6h45up-300x200.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>One of the reasons the race entrepreneurs of the Left are forced to define white supremacy down (<span class=\"small_caps\">Subject-verb agreement is white supremacy! Algebra is white supremacy! Punctuality is white supremacy!<\/span>) is the fact that actual white-supremacist ideology has so little purchase in American culture. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">White supremacy is mostly a hobby for miserable dweebs on the Internet.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>There is a reason these killers almost always act alone. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Other than the occasional Leopold-and-Loeb flavor of a crime such as the massacre at Columbine, mass shooters almost always are solo \u2014 because they have <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>no other choice<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> They <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>do not have<\/em><\/span> a big group of committed comrades ready to join them. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">They generally <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>do not have many friends<\/em><\/span>, as in the case of the Buffalo shooter, by his own telling.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>In the United States, even our white-supremacist organizations aren\u2019t very interested in white supremacy. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Think of the Aryan Brotherhood, which is one of the largest groups of its kind, with as many as 20,000 members, and which conducts extensive operations both inside the prison system and in the outside world.<\/span> The Aryan Brotherhood is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>highly organized<\/em><\/span>, it has access to money and guns and other resources, and its members <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>are not shy about murder and other violent crimes<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">When was the last time you heard about the Aryan Brotherhood shooting up a black church or bombing a Holocaust museum?<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Outside of the requisites of prison life<\/em><\/span>, the Aryan Brotherhood has almost <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>no apparent interest in white supremacy<\/em><\/span>, and its criminal activities are almost <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>exclusively<\/em><\/span> ordinary organized-crime enterprises: drug and gun trafficking, murder for hire, extortion, etc. \u2014 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>profit-oriented crime<\/em><\/span> rather than <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>ideologically inspired crime<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/78Ubd_NkWvM?start=79&amp;end=86&amp;\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">There isn\u2019t much profit in white supremacy.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>It is of some interest that the liberal-leaning\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.brookings.edu\/blog\/how-we-rise\/2022\/05\/17\/preventing-racial-hate-crimes-means-tackling-white-supremacist-ideology\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-testid=\"standard-link\">Brookings Institution<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>\u00a0finds that the share of \u201chate crimes\u201d committed by whites in the United States is slightly\u00a0<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">below<\/span><\/em>\u00a0the white share of the population (non-Hispanic whites make up about 61 percent of the U.S. population and about 55 percent of the hate-crime perpetrators) while African Americans make up a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>disproportionately high share of the hate-crime offenders<\/em><\/span> (about 12 percent of the population and 21 percent of the hate-crime perpetrators), figures that mirror the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/nij.ojp.gov\/topics\/articles\/public-mass-shootings-database-amasses-details-half-century-us-mass-shootings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-testid=\"standard-link\">National Institute of Justice\u2019s data<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>\u00a0about mass shootings (52.3 percent white perpetrators, 20.9 percent black perpetrators). <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">It doesn\u2019t seem likely that the numbers would break that way if hate crimes and mass shootings in the United States were primarily the product of white-supremacist ideology.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>As I wrote earlier today, ideology is not an especially useful guide in these matters.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">On the same day as the Buffalo massacre, a man apparently motivated by Chinese nationalism shot up a church full of Taiwanese people in California.<\/span> Nobody seriously argues that the United States has a big problem with violent Chinese nationalism. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">(A big\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>domestic<\/em><\/span>\u00a0problem, anyway.)<\/span> I tend to agree with Charles C. W. Cooke that what actually happens in most of these cases is that broken and depraved people hitch themselves to a marginal ideology or another kind of fanaticism before committing their enormities, rather than ordinary people becoming deranged by exposure to corrosive ideas.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">There are millions of Americans who cleave to any number of ghastly and evil ideologies, from racism to communism, but very few of them end up committing homicidal spectaculars.<\/span> And the ones who do commit such crimes tend to resemble one another in certain familiar ways even when they profess diametrically opposed ideologies. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">What they <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>share<\/em><\/span> is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>broken lives<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> The shooter in the congressional baseball episode had a history of domestic violence and weapons violations, was estranged from his wife, was unemployed, and had been living in a van before the attack. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The killer in the Waukesha SUV murders was out on bond after having committed essentially the same crime (intentionally running over a woman, with whom he had a child), was a registered sex offender, had a warrant out for his arrest, was unemployed, had a history of being treated with psychiatric medications, etc.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>As I wrote earlier, none of this is to say that we shouldn\u2019t care about the spread of white-supremacist ideology or other ideologies of that kind. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">But they are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not<\/em><\/span> going to be very useful in identifying likely terrorists or in preventing terrorist acts.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Next thing you know, as recorded in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/?p=102153\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Friday, May 20th edition of The Gouge<\/em><\/span><\/a>, <span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Left will be <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/rep-beatty-blames-white-supremacy-dallas-korean-salon-shooting-suspect-black\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>blaming attacks by Blacks against Asians on White Supremacists<\/em><\/span><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Then there&#8217;s five more items specially selected for inquiring Conservative minds:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>(1). As regards America&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2022\/05\/bidens-bogus-solution-to-the-baby-formula-shortage\/?utm_source=Sailthru&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=NR%20Daily%20Monday%20through%20Friday%202022-05-20&amp;utm_term=NRDaily-Smart\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">peculiar,\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\">i<\/span>nexcusable shortage of baby<\/em><\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2022\/05\/bidens-bogus-solution-to-the-baby-formula-shortage\/?utm_source=Sailthru&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=NR%20Daily%20Monday%20through%20Friday%202022-05-20&amp;utm_term=NRDaily-Smart\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> formula<\/span><\/a><\/span>, <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Best of the Web<\/span><\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0i<\/span>nsightfully suggests &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/the-biden-era-is-about-fear-not-greed-11652994372?mod=djemBestOfTheWeb\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">someone at the FDA needs to explain<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/a> how the scientific method requires shutting down a factory where government tests\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a class=\"icon none\" style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/bidens-baby-formula-shortage-11652467290?mod=article_inline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">failed to establish a link<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>\u00a0to infant illnesses\u2014and then\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a class=\"icon none\" style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/abbott.mediaroom.com\/2022-05-16-Abbott-Enters-into-Consent-Decree-with-U-S-Food-and-Drug-Administration-for-its-Sturgis,-Mich-,-Plant-Agreement-Creates-Pathway-to-Reopen-Facility\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">agreeing the plant should reopen<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u00a0the moment the resulting shortage starts generating significant headlines.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>(2). Regarding the upcoming Georgia primaries, not only is the early vote the highest ever,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/corner\/much-higher-minority-early-voting-in-georgias-upcoming-primaries\/?utm_source=recirc-desktop&amp;utm_medium=homepage&amp;utm_campaign=right-rail&amp;utm_content=featured-writers&amp;utm_term=first\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-testid=\"dynamic-link\">the early vote among MINORITIES is the highest ever<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>&#8230;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/the-morning-jolt\/trumps-gambling-isnt-paying-off\/?utm_source=Sailthru&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=MJ_20220520&amp;utm_term=Jolt-Smart\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">completely countering Biden&#8217;s insistence the Peach State&#8217;s voting law was worse than Jim Crow<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>(3).\u00a0The San Francisco Archbishop in Nancy Pelosi&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/tipsheet\/spencerbrown\/2022\/05\/20\/pelosi-barred-from-receiving-communion-over-abortion-stance-n2607598\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>home district has barred the Speaker of the House from receiving communion in light of her pro-abortion stance<\/em><\/span><\/a> \u2014 &#8220;one that was reflected in her work to pass the falsely named &#8220;Women&#8217;s Health Protection Act&#8221; that would have expanded a concocted &#8220;right&#8221; to abortion far beyond what Roe allowed and what a majority of Americans support.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>(4).
