There&#8217;s NO &#8220;might&#8221; about it!<\/em>)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Instead<\/em><\/span>, the officer turned to his supervisor and <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">requested permission to engage<\/span><\/em>. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">By the time he turned back around, the suspect was <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">already inside the school<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> Given the circumstances, the report argued, a &#8220;<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">reasonable officer<\/span><\/em>&#8221; would have pulled the trigger.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">But when cops in Texas have pulled the trigger under similar circumstances, they\u2019ve ended up in court.<\/span> In at least three cases since 2014, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals sided against police officers who made split-second decisions to shoot armed suspects\u2014one of whom appeared to be headed for a Texas high school. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">The court, which has jurisdiction over the Lone Star State, denied several officers\u2019 requests for qualified immunity, a legal defense that protects police from civil lawsuits.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8230;<\/span><strong>The verdicts from the Fifth Circuit, long considered the <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">most conservative<\/span><\/em> appellate court in the nation, reflect what is an emerging bipartisan consensus against qualified immunity. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">Qualified immunity creates breathing room for the sort of split-second decision that might have stopped Uvalde\u2014but it does so by making it difficult to sue police officers, including those who use excessive force<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span>..&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The legal niceties notwithstanding, here&#8217;s the juice: It&#8217;s hard to grasp the thought process of an officer responding to multiple reports of shots fired outside a school, scoping this dude approaching the building decked out in black and carrying a weapon and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not<\/em><\/span> putting him down.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/uvalde-shooter-social-media-copy.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-103041\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/uvalde-shooter-social-media-copy.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"236\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/uvalde-shooter-social-media-copy.png 420w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/uvalde-shooter-social-media-copy-300x169.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/uvalde-shooting-video-002-1-copy.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-103054\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/uvalde-shooting-video-002-1-copy.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/uvalde-shooting-video-002-1-copy.png 420w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/uvalde-shooting-video-002-1-copy-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Meanwhile, the contents of this video speaks for itself:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"STATESMAN-Embed Player\" src=\"https:\/\/uw-media.statesman.com\/embed\/video\/10029441002?placement=snow-embed\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; and plenty of busybodies <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>relished<\/em><\/span> appointing themselves the mask and social-distancing police in public spaces. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">To adapt a phrase from Tom Wolfe, we just lived through the Bonfire of the Credibilities<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8230;&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Is it any wonder Tucker terms the response to the WuFlu <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/1MJrUew2Kyg\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; These men can get pregnant people are crazy: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/YxOd9kaXFh\" class=\"broken_link\">pic.twitter.com\/YxOd9kaXFh<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Clay Travis (@ClayTravis) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ClayTravis\/status\/1546908189324607495?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 12, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>There was nothing wrong with how Hawley approached Professor Bridges, and quite a bit right about it. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Hawley was widely praised after the exchange by\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SohrabAhmari\/status\/1546898985515945986\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-testid=\"standard-link\">Sohrab Ahmari<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RyanTAnd\/status\/1546905377098301440?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1546905377098301440%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.foxnews.com%2Fpolitics%2Fjosh-hawley-democrats-lost-minds-tense-exchange-progressive-law-prof\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-testid=\"standard-link\">Ryan Anderso<\/a><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RyanTAnd\/status\/1546905377098301440?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1546905377098301440%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.foxnews.com%2Fpolitics%2Fjosh-hawley-democrats-lost-minds-tense-exchange-progressive-law-prof\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-testid=\"standard-link\">n<\/a><\/em><\/span><\/span>, and many others for keeping his cool.<\/span> But ultimately, this exchange demonstrated the seriousness of the challenge gender ideology poses, and the insufficiency of just asking the right questions and waiting for people to laugh this belief system off the stage.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8230;<\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>bigger<\/em><\/span> challenge is in the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>rest<\/em><\/span> of the exchange, where the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>suicidality<\/em><\/span> of people who identify as trans is cast as <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>entirely<\/em><\/span> the fault of a society that has \u201cdenialism\u201d in it.<\/span> This is an astonishing claim given the fact that people who have come to believe that their identity and their body are in some way \u201cmismatched\u201d would, presumably, experience some level of psychic torment no matter how understanding and supportive the rest of society was. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">When the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>reality<\/em><\/span> of what is called \u201cgender-affirming care\u201d \u2014 the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>experimental<\/em><\/span> use of hormones or surgeries that create nonfunctional simulations of the opposite gender\u2019s genitalia (often requiring repeated surgeries throughout all of life to maintain) \u2014 is added to this turmoil, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>it sure seems as if it is the gender ideologue who is the denialist<\/em><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>and<\/em><\/span> who is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>partly responsible<\/em><\/span> for the suicidality of people who suffer from gender dysphoria.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>It is on <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>this<\/em><\/span> ground that we must fight back. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">The rote and ritualistic recitation of trans suicide rates, and the scapegoating of nonbelievers and dissenters for these suicides, amounts to a sinister homily.<\/span> It is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Bridges<\/em><\/span> who is encouraging suicide by casting it as an act of quasi-martyrdom. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">The suicide becomes the testimony to the wickedness of the deniers; that is the public meaning she allows for it.<\/span> She\u2019s trying to give a pro-social meaning to an act of personal despair and vindictiveness. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">The more suicides there are, the more condemned stand the deniers.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Gender ideology was born out of academic wordplay. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">And academics such as Professor Bridges have become bodyguards for a buccaneering, barely regulated gender-therapy industry, filled with pill-pushers and demented surgeons who leave their patients miserable and more desirous of ending their lives.<\/span> We can\u2019t just ask clever questions and hope for these people to embarrass themselves. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">We have to confront them for what they are: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>a cult that seduces people and leads them to bodily harm, and, in many cases, self-destruction<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Evil&#8230;pure evil; president wants \u201cto revisit stop-and-frisk,\u201d a police tactic that involves officers\u2019 stopping, questioning and sometimes searching pedestrians engaged in suspicious behavior. <span style=\"color: #800000;\">For decades, police departments around the country have used stop and frisk to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>remove illegal guns<\/em><\/span> from the street and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>reduce crime rates<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> But social-justice activists\u2014who, ironically, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>support gun control<\/em><\/span>\u2014have decried the practice because blacks and Hispanics are stopped more often than other groups.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">For critics, the racial imbalance in stops is evidence of racial bias, rather than a reflection of higher violent crime rates among blacks and Hispanics versus other racial and ethnic groups.<\/span> <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Men<\/span><\/em> are also stopped <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>more often<\/em><\/span> than <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>women<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>that<\/em><\/span> evidence of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>sexism<\/em><\/span>?<\/span> In big cities such as Philadelphia, Chicago, St. Louis and Baltimore, violent crime is highly concentrated, not only among certain groups but also geographically. <span style=\"color: #800000;\">\u201cA small sliver of blocks\u2014just 4 percent in Chicago, for example\u2014can account for a majority of shootings in a city or a county,\u201d the\u00a0New York Times\u00a0reported recently.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Yet in their efforts to correct racial disparities in policing, social-justice activists <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>play down or ignore<\/em><\/span> the racial disparities in crime victimization. <span style=\"color: #800000;\">When Michael Nutter was mayor of Philadelphia, from 2008 to 2016, he supported stop and frisk, and \u201cits use\u2014combined with other law-enforcement strategies\u2014coincided with the city\u2019s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>lowest murder rate in 50 years<\/em><\/span>,\u201d according to the Inquirer.<\/span> Under pressure from the American Civil Liberties Union and other activists, however, the current mayor <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>curtailed<\/em><\/span> the practice, the number of stops <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">plummeted<\/span><\/em>, and violent crime <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>spiked<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Again, what other term than evil describes those willing to ignore irrefutable facts and inflict incalculable
