Public think that the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/four-years-after-leaving-post-will-dan-shapiro-return-as-old-new-us-ambassador\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">right man<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>\u00a0to send to Saudi Arabia to conduct aggressive oil diplomacy is a veteran of the Israeli Defense Forces, who last year was being talked up as a possible U.S. ambassador to Israel, and who, working in Barack Obama\u2019s State Department, had <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>failed in negotiations<\/em><\/span> between Israel and Lebanon on the issue of access to Mediterranean natural gas reserves? <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">And would Mr. Public be surprised to hear that two weeks after meeting with the Saudis, this aide\u2014Biden\u00a0energy\u00a0security adviser Amos Hochstein\u2014would tell Bloomberg News, \u201cI did not walk away with that understanding\u201d that the Saudis would impose such a large oil export reduction, then <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>grinningly add<\/em><\/span>, \u201cbut that\u2019s two weeks ago.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>October surprises during election years have come in many guises in American history, but this year it comes clothed in a ghutrah worn by a young Saudi ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who has just given Joe Biden, and his Democratic Party, a well-timed\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=xj69hcP85W4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">payback for accusing<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u00a0the Saudi royal family of \u201cmurdering children\u201d during the 2020 presidential campaign and promising he would \u201cmake them pay the price and make them, in fact, the pariah that they are.\u201d <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Gasoline at the pump will now be on a sizable upswing on Election Day a month from now as Americans vote for members of Congress.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;<span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>That the crown prince would thumb his nose at Biden so flagrantly illustrates the impotency and ineptitude of the former longtime chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. <span style=\"color: #993300;\">A<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">s Robert Gates, secretary of defense for both Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, has famously<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/gates-seems-to-double-down-on-claim-that-bidens-been-wrong-on-top-foreign-policy-issues-for-decades\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">quipped<\/a><\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">, Biden has \u201cbeen wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.\u201d<\/span><\/span> And he was wrong once again\u2014fatally so\u2014in last year\u2019s debacle yanking U.S. forces out of Afghanistan, in which 11 Marines, a soldier, and a Navy corpsman were\u00a0killed\u00a0in a terrorist bombing during the evacuation at Kabul airport, the Taliban returned to power, and al-Qaeda now\u00a0once more\u00a0enjoy carte blanche within the country.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>The ripples of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>that display<\/em><\/span> to the world of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>weakness and incompetence<\/em><\/span> enticed Putin to invade Ukraine, emboldened China\u2019s Xi Jinping to launch what may be the prelude to an invasion of free Taiwan, and has now shown Saudi Arabia that it has little to fear from such a feckless U.S. administration.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>The Biden administration recently\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/10\/01\/1126410228\/america-venezuela-biden-maduro-prisoner-swap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recently swapped<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u00a0two high-level Venezuelan drug traffickers, both nephews of regime ruler Nicol\u00e1s Maduro\u2019s wife, who were convicted in New York for five American Citgo executives lured to Caracas and then arrested and convicted on phony embezzlement charges, a Marine arrested at a roadblock and held on flimsy firearms violations, as well as a kidnapped 24-year-old Florida man who says he was being\u00a0waterboarded and electrocuted\u00a0by Venezuelan intelligence officers while in confinement. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The president apparently now hopes the oil-rich, anti-American socialist regime will make up for some of the Saudis\u2019 cuts.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Funny how Democrats, who seek to render fossil fuels <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>obsolete<\/em><\/span>, right now will apparently <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>do anything<\/em><\/span> for an ample supply of evil, filthy oil in the final weeks before mid-term elections that threaten to end their majority in the House of Representatives.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">That is not the story here, however.<\/span> The United States, which defied the experts and became energy independent under Trump, has under Biden shown friend and foe in the world alike <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>just how weak<\/em><\/span> its international hand is. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">A presumed superpower that is at ideological war with its own domestic energy industry is in no position to negotiate anything with the world\u2019s major oil suppliers. <\/span>This president, upon taking office last year,\u00a0scrapped\u00a0the Keystone XL pipeline that was a few months away from transporting 800,000 barrels of oil a day into the United States. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Soon thereafter he issued a series of executive orders obstructing all new oil and natural gas leases on government-held land.<\/span> This administration has the ignoble distinction of having provided the fewest oil leases of any in the post-war period. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">It has\u00a0abused\u00a0the Defense Production Act of 1950, enacted to support the Korean War effort, to subsidize the production of solar panels.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>We are already experiencing the highest inflation in four decades, with a recession already happening or about to. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">After pleading with and being rebuffed by an ally we called a murderer, we may now pivot and implore an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>outright enemy<\/em><\/span> in South America to supply us with the U.S. economy\u2019s lifeblood, which we <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>could and should<\/em><\/span> be supplying for ourselves.<\/span> Biden has\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.telesurenglish.net\/news\/US-Strategic-Petroleum-Reserve-Low-at-416.4M-Bbl-20221007-0017.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">already depleted<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u00a0our emergency Strategic Petroleum Reserve by about 40 percent, down to 416 million barrels, its <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>lowest level since 1984<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>We have been led out onto thin economic ice, which could collapse beneath us given the wrong combination of conditions\u2014say, a serious global oil shock raising the price-per-gallon into double digits, compounded by deep recession, the spread of\u00a0Europe\u2019s double-digit inflation\u00a0to our shores, and some unforeseen military aggression abroad.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Experiencing that magnitude of disaster, few among the hordes of unemployed will find much mirth in the Biden gas pump stickers reminding them, \u201cI did that.\u201d<\/strong><\/span>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1lvqw7f-StyledHeadline e1ipbpvp0\"><b>Meanwhile, adding to Biden&#8217;s impotency, the <em>Journal<\/em> is reporting\u00a0<\/b><strong>Saudi Arabia defied U.S. warnings ahead of OPEC&#8217;s output reduction, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/saudi-arabia-defied-u-s-warnings-ahead-of-opec-production-cut-11665504230?mod=djemalertNEWS\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;
