It’s Monday, November 7th, 2022…but before we begin, we’re in total agreement with Bobby Miller’s take at NRO<\/em>:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t Dither, DeSantis<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/h1>\n

Yesterday, in light of<\/span>\u00a0rumors<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u00a0that DeSantis \u201cwill not run if Trump does,\u201d\u00a0my colleague Isaac Schorr eloquently<\/span>\u00a0explained<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/span>(<\/span>again<\/a><\/em><\/span>)<\/span> why Ron DeSantis shouldn\u2019t back down from challenging former president Donald Trump in 2024.<\/span>\u00a0I second that assertion.<\/span> However, I would add that the risk of losing momentum is also something the Florida governor might want to keep in mind.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Momentum is everything<\/em><\/span> in politics.<\/span> It\u2019s why many Democrats lament that they \u201c<\/span>peaked<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u201d too early in this midterm-election cycle.<\/span> If DeSantis loses steam between now and 2028 and fades from the spotlight, who\u2019s to say he\u2019ll regain it?<\/span> Six years is eons<\/em><\/span> in political time, and it\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0almost certain<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u00a0Trump is running again.<\/span> The only question now is whether DeSantis will stop him from becoming the next\u00a0Benjamin Netanyahu<\/a><\/em><\/span>,\u00a0Lula da Silva<\/a><\/em><\/span>, or\u00a0Grover Cleveland<\/a><\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

When making this decision, DeSantis might want to heed the advice of hip-hop artist Eminem, who famously\u00a0said, \u201cYou only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow.<\/span> This opportunity comes once in a lifetime.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Here’s the juice: The fact The Donald has already dubbed Florida’s governor DeSanctimonious<\/em><\/span><\/a> demonstrates not only the immaturity of this pompous ass, but his lack of respect for anyone he views as a threat to him<\/em><\/span>; NOT a threat to the cause of Conservatism; NOT a threat to the Republican Party; NOT a threat to the country or the Constitution; Rather a threat to the personal goals and aspirations of Donald J. Trump, Jr<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0 And it’s precisely<\/em><\/span> why it’s so important the man with all<\/em><\/span> of Trump’s limited assets and none<\/em><\/span> of his numerous liabilities needs to step up immediately<\/em><\/span> following his reelection in Florida.<\/strong><\/p>\n

DeSantis needs to emphasize that last, all-important point, what differentiates him from The Donald, refuse to stoop to the level of Trump’s childish attacks and utterly destroy<\/em><\/span> the man with his command of the facts and issues in the first debate of the Republican primary.\u00a0 If he has Mike Pompeo as his Veep, all the better.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Here’s a second shot of the juice: The more Trump says, the less we like him…and the more we hope and pray some non-fatal event prevents him running again.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now, here’s The Gouge<\/em>!<\/strong><\/p>\n
