width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Yes, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>two<\/em><\/span> sieges to be exact, <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/vsjUqXWv-zI\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Ruby Ridge<\/em><\/span><\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/9RReCVgFEAE\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Branch Davidian compound<\/em><\/span><\/a>, BOTH initiated by a MASSIVE\u00a0 federal government overreaction to relatively minor issues, the former involving government entrapment, and both of which (a) could have been settled by alternative peaceful means, and (b) involved the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #000000;\"><em>willful murder of innocent civilians<\/em><\/span> by government forces without provocation or exigent circumstances.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>More importantly, while in no way, shape or form condoning or excusing the bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building, both debacles led to the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>radicalization of Timothy McVeigh<\/em><\/span>, who was an onsite observer to the Branch Davidian massacre.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Now consider the fact social media is the primary means through which young people gather their news and facts, and you&#8217;ll understand damage such inaccurate history does.\u00a0 And it&#8217;s not like the our education system is doing anything to counter such propaganda with the truth.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Now, here&#8217;s <em>The Gouge<\/em>!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>First up, since we&#8217;re on the subject of the effects of Progressive propaganda on the gullible, allow us to summarize the plot [SPOILER ALERT!!!] of <em>Don&#8217;t Look Up<\/em>, a hilarious piece of satire we recently viewed.\u00a0 The movie portrays a pair of astronomers trying to convince the political powers-that-be, primarily a female president, and a disinterested public a comet they&#8217;ve discovered is on a collision course with Earth, which will result in an extinction level event in 6 months and 14 days.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The president, worried about news of the comet adversely impacting her fortunes in the midterms only three weeks away (remember, the comet hits in 6 months and 14 days), initially decides to do nothing but &#8220;sit tight and assess&#8221;.\u00a0 But when scandal erupts on news she sent photos of her private parts to an utterly unqualified SCOTUS nominee with whom she&#8217;s been having an affair, she reverses course and authorizes a plan using the space shuttle and accompanying nuclear weapons to knock the comet off course.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>During the launch, the Steve Jobs-ish billionaire founder of cell-phone giant BASH freely enters the situation room and demands the president speak with him outside, immediately followed by the mission being scrubbed.\u00a0 The president then convenes a cabinet meeting and reveals the reason behind the cancellation: BASH astrogeologists have determined the comet contains well over $100 trillion in rare earths and minerals, and the tech giant has a plan to break up the comet and then deliver the pieces to earth for use by BASH.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Now comes the claim by the tech billionaire regarding the ultimate impact of obtaining this bounty:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;<strong><em>And when these treasures from heaven are claimed, poverty as we know it, social injustice, loss of biodiversity, all these multitudes of problems will become relics of the past and humanity will stride through the pillars of Boaz and Jachin, naked into the glory of a golden age<\/em>.<\/strong>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Not profits for him, rather paradise for the public.\u00a0 Yeah,&#8230;whatever.\u00a0 Progressives are always promising their policies will usher in Utopia; <em><u>They<\/u><\/em> just need to spend more of <em><u>your<\/u><\/em> money.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Which brings us to another MoJo clip, this one listing the top ten things the movie got right and wrong.\u00a0 Listen to #6:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GUhaDnNRcfU?start=412&amp;end=477&amp;\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Got that?\u00a0 Such rare earths are necessary for &#8220;electronics, batteries and clean energy hardware.&#8221;\u00a0 Note the ending afterthought: &#8220;We only hope the mining is done in a nature-friendly way.&#8221;\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>SERIOUSLY<\/em><\/span>?!?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/735y3p.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-105663\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/735y3p.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/735y3p.jpeg 420w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/735y3p-300x225.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>This brings to mind one of our favorite scenes from Seinfeld:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mNxz-lq38k4?start=185&amp;end=192&amp;\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Or the realities of mining, for that matter.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>But such detachment from reality isn&#8217;t limited to YouTubers, as demonstrated by this item forwarded by the great Geffoir relating how the, in a council vote of 9-0, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eenews.net\/articles\/east-coasts-first-countywide-gas-ban-passed-in-md\/\"><em><u>Montgomery County, MD enacted the first ban on natural gas as a source of heat<\/u><\/em><\/a><\/span> in 2026, forcing all new construction to use electricity for heating and hot water.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>It&#8217;s almost as if they haven&#8217;t the faintest clue what produces the vast majority of electricity in the country, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And just when you thought the level of this mass environmental insanity couldn&#8217;t increase, think again, as in a WaPo analysis piece, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/mother-frets-her-own-daughter-bad-for-earth-washington-post-analysis-piece\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>a mother frets her own daughter is &#8220;bad for the earth<\/em><\/span><\/a>&#8220;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Here&#8217;s the juice: The merest <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>wisp<\/em><\/span> of such a thought profoundly puts the &#8220;anal&#8221; in &#8220;analysis&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Here&#8217;s a second thought of the juice: The environmental movement is a spawn of Satan, the direct result of God&#8217;s word through Paul in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Romans%201%3A21-25&amp;version=NIV\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/tipsheet\/rebeccadowns\/2022\/07\/22\/yet-another-california-official-under-fire-for-mask-mandate-hypocrisy-n2610679\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">for mask hypocrisy<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u00a0as well as for her daughter\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/redstate.com\/jenvanlaar\/2022\/07\/20\/study-cdc-relied-upon-for-school-mask-mandates-was-authored-by-la-county-public-health-directors-daughter-whos-also-not-an-md-n575405\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">authoring a study<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u00a0used to justify forced masking in school. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Her daughter, Kaitlin Barnes, has no scientific or medical degree, and no conflicts of interest were mentioned. <span style=\"color: #008000;\">(<em>Then again, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">neither does her mother<\/span>!!!<\/em>)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>As Fox News&#8217; Bill Melugin shared in a Twitter thread, Ferrer gave\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?app=desktop&amp;v=6Uk7s97Wipw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a press conference<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u00a0on Thursday, during which she wore a mask even while speaking and warned that the county could go back to indoor masking, if they get into the Centers for Disease Control&#8217;s (CDC) &#8220;high&#8221; transmission &amp; hospitalization categories. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">They are currently in the &#8220;medium&#8221; category.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>During the question and answer portion, Ferrar shared &#8220;I&#8217;ve personally been pleased&#8221; that she&#8217;s seen people wearing their masks again.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/but-wait.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-105664\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/but-wait.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/but-wait.png 420w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/but-wait-300x134.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>As Melugin highlighted in sharing the video of the press conference, Ferrar was asked &#8220;does the LA health department condone China&#8217;s &#8216;zero COVID&#8217; policies.&#8221; <span style=\"color: #333399;\">It was the last question asked as the event was wrapping up.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>In her non-response, Ferrar claimed &#8220;you know, I-I mean it&#8217;s not our place, um, to really comment on other countries and their policies,&#8221; she offered. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">It got worse from there.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>&#8220;And, you know, it&#8217;s super complicated, even in this country, to make good decisions. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">As always, um, we appreciate, that&#8211;that governments have an understanding and an obligation to keep people as safe as possible,&#8221; Ferrar continued, seemingly expressing appreciation for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) before adding that &#8220;we also appreciate as you&#8217;ve seen here, the need for people to have the resources, um, that are necessary for survival and to thrive.<\/span> Um, so we will let China work on their policies, while we work with all of you on our policies here.&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Ferrar appeared to not only follow the rulebook of\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/tipsheet\/mattvespa\/2022\/11\/29\/fauci-chinas-fascistic-covid-protocols-are-justified-if-it-means-getting-more-people-vaccinated-n2616483\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dr. Anthony Fauci<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; Demonstrating Disney&#8217;s decent into wokeness, returned CEO Bob Iger&#8217;s claims to the contrary notwithstanding, continues unabated, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/news\/disney-announces-closing-date-for-splash-mountain-over-racial-stereotypes\/?utm_source=recirc-desktop&amp;utm_medium=blog-post&amp;utm_campaign=river&amp;utm_content=top-bar-latest&amp;utm_term=third\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>the company announced its Song of the South-themed Splash Mountain will close January 23, 2023<\/em><\/span><\/a>, this despite a petition to save the iconic attraction garnering some 93,000 signatures while a call for closure a mere 21,000.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>(6). In yet another sign the apocalypse is upon us, claiming they could not discriminate based on religious affiliation, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/virginia-elementary-school-host-after-school-satan-club\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>officials in the Chesapeake, VA school district approved one if its elementary units hosting an &#8220;After School Satan Club<\/em><\/span><\/a>&#8220;.\u00a0 Do these educated idiots pay any attention\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>(7). <em>NRO<\/em> is reporting\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/news\/over-a-thousand-nyt-union-employees-threaten-to-walk-out-over-benefit-demands\/?utm_source=Sailthru&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=NR%20Daily%20Monday%20through%20Friday%202022-12-03&amp;utm_term=NRDaily-Smart\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>over a thousand union members at The New York Times are threatening to shut the publication down for 24 hours<\/em><\/span><\/a>\u00a0unless their demands for increased wages and enhanced benefits are met.\u00a0 The only thing better would be permanent shuttering of what has become nothing more than a Progressive parody of
