What Did Trump REALLY Say About the Constitution<\/span><\/a>?<\/span><\/h1>\n

Trump\u2019s comments were ridiculous, but as usual his deranged critics went even further overboard with their denunciations<\/span><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/h3>\n

“Donald Trump\u2019s Achilles heel is his own narcissistic self-assurance, which translates into him always being right when he decides that he is.<\/span> Which is always<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The 2020 election had plenty wrong with it.<\/span> From media and Big Tech interference to\u00a0bulk-mail balloting<\/a><\/em><\/span>, it was not a fair election<\/em><\/span>, even if most of the problems were arguably \u201clegal.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Trump, however, cemented in his own mind and in the minds of his most faithful followers that there was no possible way<\/em><\/span> he could have lost<\/em><\/span> the election.<\/span> To this day, Trump has doubled, tripled, and quadrupled down on his claim that the election was \u201crigged\u201d and \u201cstolen,\u201d though he and his legal team tended to focus on\u00a0counting\u00a0votes<\/span><\/em> instead of the aforementioned real problems.<\/span> Furthermore, any Republican or conservative who dares to question Trump\u2019s claim is immediately smeared as a RINO and part of the problem.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s MO has long been to never admit defeat.<\/span> While this may be a calculated tactic to show toughness for making business deals, it is not a characteristic of good leadership.<\/span> Yes, there is a long line of leaders throughout history who shared this \u201cmy way or the highway\u201d ethic, but most of them were tyrants who always placed their own interests ahead of the rights and needs of the people.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The United States of America is not a democracy but a republic.<\/span> Our system of government rests upon the populace electing representatives whose power is both delineated and limited by the Constitution.<\/span> Superseding all<\/em><\/span> elected officials\u2019 authority is the Constitution<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> It is the standard<\/em><\/span> for governance of<\/em><\/span> the people.<\/span> So, when individuals seeking power appear to call for all or parts of the Constitution to be ignored, changed, or terminated, this should immediately<\/em><\/span> raise red flags.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Over the weekend, just in time for the\u00a0critical Georgia Senate runoff, Trump issued his latest 2020 election fraud rant by posting on his social media site Truth Social the\u00a0following message<\/a><\/em><\/span>:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

So, with the revelation of MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD & DECEPTION in working closely with Big Tech Companies, the DNC, & the Democrat Party, do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He added:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution<\/span>. <\/em><\/span>(Emphasis ours<\/em>)<\/span> Our great \u2018Founders\u2019 did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections.<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Trump was responding to new Twitter owner Elon Musk\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0release of the \u201cTwitter Files<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/a>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0exposing internal documents that show how the company colluded with Democrats<\/span> and federal law enforcement<\/em><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>(More on that later from Andy McCarthy)<\/span> to censor damaging stories \u2014 primarily the one about Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop revealing Joe Biden\u2019s corruption \u2014 ahead of the 2020 election.<\/span> Twitter\u2019s collusion with Democrats is indeed a scandal that is still being unpacked.<\/span> Big Tech clearly<\/em><\/span> interfered in the 2020 election on behalf of Joe Biden and the Democrats. This interference may have swung the election in Biden\u2019s favor, as there have been reports indicating that a significant number of Biden voters would not have voted for him if they had known the Hunter Biden laptop story was not fake news but genuine.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

However, election interference<\/em><\/span> and election fraud<\/em><\/span> are not synonymous<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Russia interfered in the 2016 election, but that does not mean that Trump\u2019s election victory was fraudulent or illegitimate.<\/span> Trump won legitimately no matter how much the Washington establishment, the Leftmedia, and Democrats angrily denied it as they fomented their baseless<\/em><\/span> Russian collusion conspiracy theory.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s understandable that Trump, after seeing Twitter\u2019s latest revelation, would see this as vindicating his loudly expressed claims of the 2020 election being rigged and stolen.<\/span> \u201cYou can see why President Trump is pissed. He should be,\u201d argues Ben Shapiro.<\/span> But his response is \u201cjumping on a rake with both feet.\u201d Instead of the story being Twitter\u2019s malfeasance, now the Leftmedia can more easily ignore that and focus on Trump\u2019s would-be authoritarianism.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Besides, feelings don\u2019t make facts, and try as he might, Trump was not able to provide the necessary facts to prove his voter fraud allegations in court. That\u2019s primarily because he was barking up the wrong tree.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Trump is playing that classic political game: conflation. Musk revealed that interference<\/em><\/span> took place, not<\/em><\/span> fraud.<\/span> Nothing Musk revealed shows that voter fraud occurred in 2020. None<\/em><\/span> of the \u201cTwitter Files\u201d show any illegally cast ballots, voter suppression, rigged voting machines, or intentionally uncounted ballots.<\/span> Trump has made all these claims in support of his \u201cstolen election\u201d assertions, though he failed to deliver legitimate legal evidence to prove any of them in a court of law, at least on a scale significant enough to change the results in even one state.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

But of course, to Trump, if he believes it, then that\u2019s all the evidence he needs<\/strong><\/span>…”<\/p>\n

And here’s where the author starts to lose us:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“The way forward, however, is not to endlessly litigate the past as if it could be changed but to push for election integrity and better voter information so future contests are trustworthy. Yet here we are once again contending with apocalyptic headlines about Trump and the Constitution.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Did Trump really<\/em><\/span> call for the \u201ctermination\u201d of the Constitution? The short answer is \u201cNo<\/em><\/span>.\u201d<\/span> Trump always has been rather imprecise with his language, and as some have keenly observed, \u201clisten to what he means, not what he says.\u201d Thus, it\u2019s easy to see how some concluded that he was attacking the Constitution.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe fake news is actually trying to convince the American people that I said, I wanted to \u2018terminate\u2019 the constitution,\u201d Trump later asserted. \u201cThis is simply more disinformation and lies.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In reality, Trump was attempting to argue that the 2020 election\u2019s \u201cmassive fraud\u201d was so egregious that it served to not only undercut all the rules regulating America\u2019s electoral system, it also effectively allowed for \u201cterminating\u201d those election stipulations within the Constitution. Therefore, the only remedy Trump sees is to throw out the declared 2020 election winner, Biden, and have himself recognized as the winner, or hold a new election.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The trouble Trump runs into is there is nothing within<\/em><\/span> the Constitution that would support<\/em><\/span> his desired action<\/strong><\/span>…”<\/p>\n

Here’s the juice: One cannot blame critics for pouncing on The Donald’s words.\u00a0 Rather blame his disinterest in facts, 2nd-grade vocabulary and over-reliance on superlatives.\u00a0 And no amount of post-comment reading of Trump’s intent will change his own words as might be reasonably interpreted by a reasonable, independent<\/em><\/span> individual:\u00a0A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude\u00a0<\/em>allows for the termination of all<\/span>\u00a0rules, all<\/span> regulations, and all<\/span> articles, even ALL those found in the Constitution<\/span>.<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

You’ll forgive our momentary comparison of a brilliant yet imperfect human document with the inspired Word of the Most High God, but you can no more recognize select sections the Constitution as the law of the land than you can pick and choose only certain<\/em><\/span> verses of Scripture as coming directly from the Lord.\u00a0 This is akin to practicing homosexuals, adulterers or murderers accepting the entirety of the Bible as gospel…excepting<\/em><\/span> those sections condemning their<\/em><\/span> ongoing sin.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Which frankly would come as no big surprise from a man who misquoted Scripture to a largely Christian audience while trying to curry favor with Evangelical voters:<\/strong><\/p>\n
