color: #0000ff;\"><em>Kevin McCarthy continues to refuse calls for George Santos to resign<\/em><\/span><\/a>, as the Speaker uses the &#8220;new rules&#8221; Dimocrats have been playing by for years as an over-sized suppository for Progressives.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kurt&#8217;s point is yes, Santos <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>is<\/em><\/span> a liar, and quite an accomplished one at that.\u00a0 But an unfamiliarity with the truth hasn&#8217;t seemed to bother Progressives when the unacquainted occupy\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>their<\/em><\/span> side of the aisle, including but not limited to:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politifact.com\/factchecks\/2018\/oct\/04\/donald-trump\/donald-trump-sen-blumenthal-lied-about-his-service\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Richard Blumenthal<\/em><\/span><\/a> of Vietnam ignominy;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2017\/08\/31\/menendez-lied-to-public-about-gifts-from-doctor-friend-prosecutors\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Bob Menendez<\/em><\/span><\/a>, corrupt even by New Jersey standards;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Gsc-gRS-v_w\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Ilhan Omar<\/em><\/span><\/a> of multiple husband infamy; the legendary\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/elizabeth-warren-again-apologizes-after-release-of-native-american-ancestry-link-11566241904\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Lieawatha<\/em><\/span><\/a>;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/2018\/08\/10\/thiessen-sen-dianne-feinstein-had-a-chinese-spy-on-her-staff-for-20-years\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Diane Feinstein<\/em><\/span><\/a>, not only hopelessly hypocritical about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/dianne-got-her-gun-too-bad-about-yours-1536608495\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>denying self-defense options to others she reserves for herself<\/em><\/span><\/a>, but perhaps too senile to discern her driver for two decades was a Chinese spy; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aei.org\/op-eds\/the-poetic-justice-in-eric-swalwells-relationship-with-a-chinese-spy\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Eric Swalwell<\/em><\/span><\/a>, who just <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>slept<\/em><\/span> with a Chinese spy; <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/06\/21\/sheldon-whitehouse-under-fire-for-membership-at-all-white-club\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Sheldon Whitehouse<\/em><\/span><\/a>, who while decrying White privilege belongs to an exclusive all-White beach club; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/hillary-clinton-bosnia-sniper-fire-2016-6\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Hillary<\/em><\/span><\/a>, whose deeds of daring-do in Bosnia need no introduction&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uHVEDq6RVXc\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; color: #0000ff;\"><em>the Big Guy<\/em><\/span> <\/a>himself, whose <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>entire life<\/em><\/span> has been built on one patent prevarication after another, and shows no sign whatsoever of stopping:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/St1HrQ6yilc\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Now, here&#8217;s <em>The Gouge<\/em>!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>First up, since we&#8217;re on the subject of lying, hypocritical Progressives, the <em>Morning Jolt<\/em> relates, in what can only be described as a total 180&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"nr-heading\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/the-morning-jolt\/democrats-do-an-about-face-on-georgia\/?utm_source=Sailthru&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=MJ_20230131&amp;utm_term=Jolt-Smart\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #333399; text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\">Democrats: Eh, Maybe Georgia\u2019s Electorate Isn\u2019t So Racist after All<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/79fzbu.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-107052\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/79fzbu.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"245\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/79fzbu.jpeg 420w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/79fzbu-300x175.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>In the minds of Democrats, the state of Georgia is either an oppressive racist hellhole or the bright shining future of American politics, depending on the results of the latest election.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Apparently, Georgia is now good again, because NBC News reports that a lot of elected Democrats from Virginia to Louisiana are\u00a0urging their party to hold the 2024 national convention in Atlanta<\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8230;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8230;<\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">So which is it?<\/span> Is Georgia the state of Jim Crow 2.0, where the electorate was allegedly too racist and sexist and was too easily swayed by \u201cmisinformation\u201d to elect Stacey Abrams? <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Or is it true that, as the southern Democrats contend in their letter, \u201cEverything we have accomplished as a party since January of 2021 can be traced back to Georgia, and specifically, to the metro Atlanta area which swung the state in our favor\u201d?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>How could it be that Georgia was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>too racist<\/em><\/span> to host the 2021 Major League Baseball All-Star game but is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not too racist<\/em><\/span> to host the 2024 Democratic National Convention?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Some of this may well be rooted in the perception that \u201cAtlanta\u201d and \u201cGeorgia\u201d are two different entities.<\/span> Winfield Ward Murray, an adjunct professor at Morehouse College,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.atlantamagazine.com\/list\/race-atlanta\/atlanta-georgia-not-different\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" testid=\"standard-link\" class=\"broken_link\">wrote in 2018<\/a><\/em><\/span>, \u201cI had always described myself as a native Atlantan, not a native Georgian. <span style=\"color: #000000;\">To me, there\u2019s a difference.\u201d<\/span> A lot of big cities perceive themselves as being so culturally, socially, economically, and politically different from the rest of their states \u2014 \u201cthe sticks\u201d \u2014 that they might as well be a different country \u2014 think of deep-blue Chicago in otherwise-red Illinois, or the old description of Pennsylvania as \u201cPhiladelphia and Pittsburgh in the corners, and Alabama in the middle.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">But this also reeks of shameless political opportunism on the part of the Democrats.<\/span> When their candidates win and they get their way, the state is a microcosm of the best of America: home of Coca-Cola, Home Depot, UPS, the CDC, peaches and Jimmy Carter \u2014 and the inspirational subject of Ray Charles\u2019s classic song. <span style=\"color: #000000;\">When their party loses and they don\u2019t get their way, Georgia suddenly transforms into a detestable backwater basket case, struggling to let go of the hateful legacies of the Confederacy and segregation.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Democrats really want Biden (or whomever the Democratic nominee is) to win Georgia again in 2024, so lots of Democrats think it\u2019s time to sing the praises of Georgia again<\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dimocrats: if they didn&#8217;t have double-standards, they&#8217;d have no standards &#8216;tall.\u00a0 The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>real<\/em><\/span> question isn&#8217;t whether Biden has Georgia on his mind, but rather whether he&#8217;ll be part of the convention.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>It&#8217;s also worth noting had Winfield Ward Murray&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/download-8.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-107029\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/download-8.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"271\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8230;looked like Louis Winthorp III&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Dan-Aykroyd-as-Louis-Winthorpe-III-in-Trading-Places_large.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-107030\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Dan-Aykroyd-as-Louis-Winthorpe-III-in-Trading-Places_large.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"239\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8230;and juxtaposed Georgia and Atlanta, he&#8217;d have long ago been branded racist and summarily cancelled.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And in the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Beggars Seemingly CAN Be Choosers<\/em><\/span> segment, <em>NRO<\/em>&#8216;s Brittany Bernstein informs us&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"article-header__title\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/news\/dozens-of-migrants-refuse-to-move-from-manhattan-hotel-to-brooklyn-mega-shelter\/?utm_source=recirc-desktop&amp;utm_medium=article&amp;utm_campaign=river&amp;utm_content=native-latest&amp;utm_term=first\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000; color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/01\/30\/migrants-refuse-to-leave-watson-hotel-for-brooklyn-cruise-terminal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-testid=\"standard-link\">New York Post<\/a><\/span>.\u00a0<\/em><\/span>The shelter is the fifth\u00a0Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Center to open in the city since last year.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Several migrants went to the shelter over the weekend before returning to the hotel to sleep outside last night, saying the shelter had no heat, privacy or blankets, according to reports.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>One activist told the\u00a0<em>New York Post\u00a0<\/em>that the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>migrants<\/em><\/span> feel the shelter is \u201cnot livable.\u201d<\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Three quick points come immediately to mind: (i) They&#8217;re NOT &#8220;migrants&#8221;, they&#8217;re ILLEGAL ALIENS who broke federal immigration law immediately upon crossing into the country.\u00a0 When even <em>NRO<\/em> declines to make such a necessary distinction, you know we&#8217;re in trouble; (ii)\u00a0<\/strong><strong>&#8220;Not livable&#8221;?\u00a0 As compared to what?!?\u00a0 The Third World sh*tholes they came from, or perhaps the conditions on their journey?; and (iii) If they won&#8217;t go where they&#8217;re told, why not put &#8217;em on a the next bus to Brownsville or El Paso?!?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And in the <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><em>EnvironMental Moment<\/em><\/span>, <em>NRO<\/em>&#8216;s Luther Ray Abel provides further proof Joe&#8217;s the dimmest bulb in the presidential pack, as we learn&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"article-header__title\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><a style=\"color: #008000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/corner\/bidens-preferred-green-car-is-worse-for-the-environment\/?utm_source=recirc-desktop&amp;utm_medium=blog-post&amp;utm_campaign=river&amp;utm_content=top-bar-latest&amp;utm_term=second\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Biden\u2019s Preferred \u2018Green\u2019 Car Is Worse for the Environment<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/idiot.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-107026\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/idiot.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"520\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/idiot.png 420w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/idiot-242x300.png 242w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>We\u2019ve known that the Biden administration cares about the climate about as much as it cares about coherent sentences, but the most recent Twitter post from POTUS really is a humdinger. <span style=\"color: #003300;\">Seated in a 9,000-pound Hummer EV \u2014 an asphalt-crushing weight for a consumer vehicle \u2014 Biden cheeses for the cameras and reminds the public why Democrats aren\u2019t worth listening to about conservation and practical climate solutions.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>As Peter Huether of the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) notes, the Hummer EV produces more CO2 than a\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aceee.org\/blog-post\/2022\/06\/9000-pound-electric-hummer-shows-we-cant-ignore-efficiency-evs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-testid=\"standard-link\">midsize ICE sedan<\/a><\/em><\/span>:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #003300;\">Emissions per mile driven are lower for EVs than for similarly sized gasoline-powered cars, but they are not zero.<\/span> The Chevy Bolt EV is responsible for about 92 grams of carbon dioxide (CO<sub>2<\/sub>) per mile when accounting for emissions from the electric grid.<span style=\"color: #003300;\"> (The CO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0calculations are based on the national average, but electric grid emissions vary considerably across the country.)<\/span> The gasoline-powered Chevy Malibu causes\u00a0over 320 grams per mile.\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/qz.com\/2154558\/big-electric-trucks-and-suvs-are-the-new-gas-guzzlers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-testid=\"standard-link\">Comparing larger vehicles<\/a><\/span>, the original Hummer H1 emits 889 grams of CO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0per mile and the new Hummer EV causes 341 grams, demonstrating that behemoth EVs can still be worse for the environment than smaller, conventional vehicles.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #003300;\">Don\u2019t get me wrong, I\u2019d kiss Al Gore for the chance to drive a Hummer EV.<\/span> But let\u2019s not pretend the 1,000 hp brick is doing the\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.worldwildlife.org\/magazine\/issues\/summer-2018\/articles\/the-long-eared-jerboa-stands-and-hops-in-a-class-of-its-own\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" testid=\"standard-link\" class=\"broken_link\">long-eared jerboa any favors<\/a><\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Which proves climate change takes a back seat to union jobs; Or, more accurately, union campaign contributions.\u00a0 Talk about an existential crisis!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Moving on, here&#8217;s another sextet of special selections certain to pique the interest of inquiring Conservative minds:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>(1). Unlike the Navy, where the Skipper of the ship is responsible for everything which transpires on his watch, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/tyre-nichols-sixth-memphis-police-officer-relieved-from-duty-11675101066?mod=djemalertNEWS\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>any chance the Black mayor and police chief of Memphis will resign in response to what occurred under their management<\/em><\/span><\/a>?!?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>(2).
