color: #0000ff;\"><em>42<\/em><\/span>, the story of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier in professional baseball, then alleging, without a shred of evidence, there remain those who believe Blacks shouldn&#8217;t play in the majors.\u00a0 Note we didn&#8217;t use the example of\u00a0<\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0108052\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; father, Bennie Jack Hays,\u00a0second-highest-ranking official in the United Klans in Alabama at the time, was furious over the failed conviction and\u00a0told the men\u00a0&#8220;If a black man can get away with killing a white man, we ought to be able to get away with killing a black man.&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Spurred those words, Hays and Knowles kidnapped Donald, beat him, slit his throat and then hung his body from a tree in a Mobile neighborhood.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">The aftermath of Donald&#8217;s death is the key difference from the crimes documented in the lynching memorial.<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.al.com\/news\/index.ssf\/2018\/04\/alabamas_racial_lynching_victi.html\" class=\"broken_link\">Racial lynchings are defined<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u00a0as <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>unprosecuted murders<\/em><\/span> that occurred at the hands of mobs or unidentified people. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">In the case of Donald&#8217;s death, the perpetrators <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>were<\/em><\/span> prosecuted, and the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>convictions<\/em><\/span> made history.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8230;<\/span><strong>Knowles later confessed to the murder, pleaded guilty and testified against Hays. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">Hays was sentenced to death and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>his 1997 execution in Alabama&#8217;s electric chair was the first in the state since 1913 for a white-on-black crime<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> A third defendant, Benjamin Franklin Cox Jr., of Mobile, was convicted of being an accomplice and sentenced to life in prison. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">The elder Hays, charged as an accomplice for allegedly ordering the lynching, had his first trial end in a mistrial, and\u00a0died before a second trial started.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>The criminal convictions weren&#8217;t the end, however. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">With the help of Morris Dees, co-founder of the Southern Poverty Law Center, Mrs. Donald filed a civil suit against the local KKK and the United Klans of America.<\/span> An <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>all-white Mobile jury<\/em><\/span> awarded her $7 million, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/1987\/11\/01\/magazine\/the-woman-who-beat-the-klan.html\" class=\"broken_link\">forcing the bankrupted KKK<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u00a0to turn over the deed to its $225,000 national headquarters in Tuscaloosa. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">&#8220;The verdict marked the end of the United Klans, the same group that had beaten the Freedom Riders in 1961, murdered civil rights worker Viola Liuzzo in 1965, and bombed Birmingham&#8217;s 16th Street Baptist Church in 1963,&#8221; the Southern Poverty Law Center said in its description of the historic case<\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Not exactly <em>Mississippi Burning<\/em> and the case of the three murdered civil rights workers, eh Joe?!?<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"InContent_Center_Padding\">\n<p><strong>Here&#8217;s the juice:\u00a0 In fabricating the presence of an evil which hasn&#8217;t raised its ugly head in some 42 years, Biden obscures the greatest threat to contemporary young Black males in American: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>OTHER<\/em><\/span> young Black American males.\u00a0 Still, as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/south-carolina-mother-shot-death-front-young-children-kroger-parking-lot\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2022\/12\/impeach-biden-over-the-security-catastrophe-hes-caused-at-the-border\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-testid=\"dynamic-link\">again<\/a><\/em><\/span>, but at this stage, the only thing that might \u2014\u00a0<em>might<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 turn the tide and establish a semblance of security at the southern border would be for House Republicans to impeach President Biden for first causing the border crisis and then, over the course of the next two years, willfully exacerbating it, not out of incompetence but because it\u2019s what his radical base demands.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The Supreme Court was never going to relieve congressional Republicans of their burden.<\/span> The Court is powerless to secure the border. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Its institutional legitimacy and, hence, its power lie in rendering sound judgment rooted in law and fact.<\/span> Republican attorneys general were pleading with the justices to sustain a lie, namely, that we are still in the throes of a pandemic calling for extraordinary measures that include turning aliens away based on the Title 42 exclusion \u2014 an infectious-disease pretext, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not<\/em><\/span> a border-security policy.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;<strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/02\/10\/cost-of-joe-bidens-open-borders-200-billion-paid-by-you\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-testid=\"standard-link\">Mark Krikorian of the invaluable Center for Immigration Studies explains in the\u00a0New York Post<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">that the lifetime cost to American taxpayers of each illegal alien is about $<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>80,000<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #333399;\">By conservative estimates, the 3 million or so illegal aliens Biden has lawlessly paroled into the country (out of the additional millions who have been enticed by his non-enforcement policies to seek entry, exhausting security resources) will cost about $<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>200 billion<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Even if the siege stopped today, that would not be sustainable.<\/span> And it is most definitely not stopping today; if anything, it will only get worse once Title 42 ends in the coming weeks. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The resulting surge could multiply the influx by a factor of two or three.<\/span> How much more do you suppose a country $31 trillion in debt (and on a trajectory to reach $51 trillion in debt over the next decade) <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>can handle<\/em><\/span>?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Congressional Republicans seem to grasp that, at this point, the only solution is impeachment, the position advocated by three former government officials and top Heritage Foundation analysts \u2014\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/impeaching-mayorkas-is-must-he-violated-his-oath-committed-high-crimes-misdemeanors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" testid=\"standard-link\" class=\"broken_link\">Hans von Spakovsky, Lora Ries, and Steven G. Bradbury \u2014 in a recent Fox News op-ed<\/a><\/em><\/span>.<\/span> But my friends are aiming too low \u2014 specifically, at Alejandro Mayorkas, the secretary of Homeland Security (as applied to him, an Orwellian title if ever there was one).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Mayorkas may be the architect of a policy that\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; Commission released its preliminary report on the\u00a0Yeti Airlines flight\u00a0that crashed into a river gorge in Pokhara. <span style=\"color: #800000;\">The plane was carrying 72 passengers in total, including the crew, all of whom perished.\u00a0<\/span>The report indicates that on descent one of the pilots <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>selected the wrong lever<\/em><\/span>, feathering the propellors instead of lowering the flaps.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Two captains were operating the plane.<\/span> One of the captains was in the process of obtaining aerodrome familiarization for operating into Pokhara and the other captain was the instructor pilot. <span style=\"color: #800000;\">The captain being familiarized, who was occupying the left hand seat, was the Pilot Flying (PF) and the instructor on the right was the Pilot Monitoring (PM).<\/span>\u00a0&#8220;At 10:56:27, the PF (Pilot Flying) disengaged the Autopilot System (AP) at an altitude of 721 feet Above Ground Level (AGL). <span style=\"color: #800000;\">The PF then called for \u2018FLAPS 30\u2019 at 10:56:32, and the PM (Pilot Monitoring) replied, \u2018Flaps 30 and descending,\u2019&#8221; the report said.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>&#8220;The flight data recorder (FDR) data <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>did not record any flap surface movement at that time<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Instead<\/em><\/span>, the propeller rotation speed (Np) of both engines decreased simultaneously to less than 25% and the torque (Tq) started decreasing to 0%, which is consistent with both propellers going into the feathered condition.<\/span> When propellers are in feather, they are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not producing thrust<\/em><\/span>.&#8221;<picture><\/picture><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>According to AirlineRatings, the lever that operates the flaps and the one that feathers the propellers <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>are adjacent to each other<\/em><\/span> on the ATR model plane that crashed<\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yes, but the flap handle is of a different shape than the prop controls, and is a single lever rather than double.\u00a0 Assuming the preliminary report is accurate, which, based on the FDR data it is, this was the aviation equivalent of <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/7AP5maXmAwc\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Kim Potter accidentally shooting a perp in the act of resisting arrest<\/em><\/span><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>It&#8217;s been said few
