She had tomato soup and placards thrown in her face. She was doused with water. Huge men screamed insults and expletives in her face. The shoving of the crowd became so intense that Parker feared for her life. \u2018I genuinely thought that if I fell to the floor I would never get up again\u2019, she said. \u2018My children would lose their mother and my husband would lose his wife.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">It was a truly chilling spectacle. The mobs\u2019 faces were twisted into masks of feral hatred.\u00a0They ranted in frenzy as the diminutive Parker, her bottle-blonde hair stained orange from the soup that had been dumped on her, desperately tried to make her way to the safety of a police car. It was a <strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ritualistic shaming of a witch<\/span><\/em><\/strong>, a <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>violent purging of a heretic<\/em><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Next time you\u2019re reading a history book and find yourself wondering how Salem came to be consumed by such swirling hysteria, <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>watch the clips of Posie\u2019s persecution in New Zealand<\/em><\/span><\/strong>. <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>This<\/em><\/span><\/strong> is how it happens.\u00a0<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>This<\/em><\/span><\/strong> is how the fear of witches can overrule reason and unleash the darkest, most punitive passions of the mob.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">And what is Parker\u2019s crime?\u00a0<em>What did this witch do?\u00a0<\/em><em>She said, \u2018<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">A woman is an adult human female\u2019<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/em><em><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">That\u2019s it<\/span><\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Parker, whose real name is Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull, is well known for her criticism of the ideology of transgenderism. She thinks a man never becomes a woman, no matter how many hormones he takes or surgeries he undergoes. She thinks if you were <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>born male<\/em><\/span><\/strong>, you will <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>die male<\/em><\/span><\/strong>, and in the time in between you have <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>no right whatsoever<\/em><\/span><\/strong> to enter any women-only space.\u00a0<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>This<\/em><\/span> <\/strong>is <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>heresy<\/em><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Dissenting from the gospel of gender ideology is to the 21st century what dissenting from the actual gospels was to the 15th. And so Parker must be punished. It was a modern-day stoning, so mercifully they only threw soup and water and planks of cardboard at the blasphemer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Parker organises public events called \u2018Let Women Speak\u2019.\u00a0She has done it across the UK, in parts of the US, and for the past couple of weeks she\u2019s been doing it in Australia and New Zealand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">It\u2019s a genius initiative. She <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>knows<\/em><\/span><\/strong> these gatherings of women who merely want to give voice to their profane belief that sex can never be changed will draw out crowds of <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>intolerant trans activists and their allies<\/em><\/span><\/strong>. She <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>knows<\/em><\/span><\/strong> the \u2018<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Be Kind\u2019 mob<\/em><\/span><\/strong> will do everything in its power to <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>stop<\/em><\/span><\/strong> women from speaking. And she <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>knows<\/em><\/span><\/strong> it will all brilliantly illustrate her core belief: that <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>trans activism is misogyny in disguise<\/em><\/span><\/strong>, misogyny in drag, if you like, and that it has <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>devoted itself to silencing women who believe in biology<\/em><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Australia and New Zealand played their parts brilliantly in Parker\u2019s clever scheme. From Melbourne to Canberra, Hobart to Auckland, huge crowds of the right-on turned up to drown out the voices of the pesky women who dare to call men \u2018men\u2019. \u2018<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Let women speak<\/em><\/span><\/strong>\u2019, Parker says. \u2018<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>No<\/em><\/span><\/strong>\u2019, says the mob. She incites them to confess their misogyny and intolerance in full public view. And <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>they do<\/em><\/span><\/strong>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tragically, at the same time we were editing this entry, things got <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>VERY<\/em><\/span> ugly <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>indeed<\/em><\/span>, though you couldn&#8217;t tell from the inexplicably idiotic opening the demented deviant in the Oval Office made before delivering remarks on the Nashville massacre, which included <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>yet another<\/em><\/span> call for an &#8220;assault weapons&#8221; ban:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DGcYbjcVkrw\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Mark Alexander notes at The Patriot Post<\/em><\/span><\/a>, this was a heinous hate crime perpetrated by a transgender against six innocent Christians, three of whom were only nine years old.\u00a0 As Tucker noted in a video clip featured in the edition we prepared Sunday evening for publication on Monday, based on Andy Ngo&#8217;s independent research&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uzfH9kXkors?start=588&amp;end=616&amp;\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; color: #0000ff;\"><em>per this report from NRO<\/em><\/span><\/a>, focusing on the gender a mass murderer identified as at the time they did their killing:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;Initial reporting about the school shooting initially highlighted the <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>unusual nature of a female mass shooter<\/em><\/span><\/strong>; however, law enforcement later clarified that Hale <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>identified as a transgender man<\/em><\/span><\/strong>. Officials \u201cfeel that she identifies as trans, but we\u2019re still in the initial investigation into all of that and if it actually played a role into this incident,\u201d Drake said during the interview.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Media outlets including the\u00a0<em>New York Times<\/em>,\u00a0<em>USA Today<\/em>, and ABC News <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>raced to issue quick corrections for misgendering the mass shooter<\/em><\/span><\/strong> across social-media.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u201cThere was confusion later on Monday about the gender identity of the assailant in the Nashville shooting. There was a time when voters were very concerned with the character and integrity of those we placed in authority over us.<\/p>\n<p class=\"leading-tight pb-4 italic\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">While politicians are supposed to represent the people who elected them, they now see voters as their servants. We\u2019re supposed to just suck it up and gratefully accept the \u201ccrumbs\u201d of services government allows us to have. It wasn\u2019t always this way. At our founding, there were high expectations as to what our elected leaders were to be like.<\/p>\n<p class=\"leading-tight pb-4 italic\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">\u201cIn selecting men for office, let principle be your guide. Regard not the particular sect or denomination of the candidate \u2014 look to his character.\u201d \u2014Noah Webster, 1789<\/p>\n<p class=\"leading-tight pb-4 italic\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">\u201cThe public cannot be too curious concerning the character of public men.\u201d \u2014Samuel Adams, 1775<\/p>\n<p class=\"leading-tight pb-4 italic\" style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">\u201cNothing is more essential to the establishment of manners in a State than all persons employed in places of power and trust must be men of unexceptional characters.\u201d \u2014Samuel Adams, 1775<\/p>\n<p class=\"leading-tight pb-4 italic\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">There are many more quotes, but you see where I\u2019m going. Character and integrity for men in authority were highly valued. In past generations, Bill Clinton being a notable example, we have replaced those two qualities with personality and charisma.<\/p>\n<p class=\"leading-tight pb-4 italic\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Bill Clinton and Barack Obama were very charismatic and personable, but the lack of character and integrity was evident to anyone who was looking. Trump was very charismatic, but definitely lacking in moral character. Don\u2019t shoot the messenger; I\u2019m just stating a fact. Yes, I voted for him twice. The choices, Hillary Clinton (NO personality or charisma) or Joe Biden, were nonstarters for me. I pulled the lever, holding my nose, hoping and praying for the best.<\/p>\n<p class=\"leading-tight pb-4 italic\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">President Trump surprised millions of conservatives when he actually kept his campaign promises (what a novel idea). He got things done. Imagine what he might have accomplished if he didn\u2019t have to fight Democrats, the media, academia, and Hollywood every day of his administration. His mindless personal assaults and needless Twitter rants didn\u2019t help him. Melania should have taken his phone away from him when she went to bed and let him have it back in the morning. Sigh!<\/p>\n<p class=\"leading-tight pb-4 italic\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Now Joe Biden occupies the highest office in the land, at one time a position that inspired other nations because of the character of the man in office. Who does Joe inspire? Russia, China, Iran, North Korea? He certainly did not inspire Afghani citizens when he bailed out of the country in the dark of night. Our enemies were watching, and you and I are paying for it every day. Maybe I\u2019m overthinking this, but watching \u201cSleepy Joe\u201d campaign from his basement and then receiving 81 million votes has millions of us scratching our heads!<\/p>\n<p class=\"leading-tight pb-4 italic\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Joe Biden, a man of impeccable character and integrity? Please! This crude, vulgar, and cognitively challenged senior citizen who keeps hours that make bankers envious is president because too many Americans voted for the media version of Biden, not the man who spent 50 years living on the taxpayers\u2019 dime, accomplishing\u00a0<em>nothing.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"leading-tight pb-4 italic\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Now all of us are paying the price for it. (Arguably, all forms of media are an attention economy.) It runs on your willingness to pay attention to things. Institutions and platforms that cannot get you to pay attention are doomed, at least financially. (This morning brings news that the\u00a068-year-old liberal publication\u00a0<em>The Texas Observer<\/em>\u00a0is closing its doors for good.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">On a lot of social-media platforms, normal or healthy human behavior does not get you very much attention. Abnormal, unhealthy behavior gets you a great deal of attention.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pedestrian.tv\/online\/toilet-bowl-milkshake-tiktok\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-testid=\"standard-link\">Young women drinking milkshakes out of toilets<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0is the sort of thing that turns a lot of heads \u2014 and stomachs \u2014 in the world of TikTok.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">TikTok, and perhaps social media as a whole, have created an entire incentive structure to spotlight the most abnormal behavior people can imagine, particularly among young people. If you do the things you\u2019re supposed to do in life \u2014 love your family, be a good friend, work hard, play by the rules, help others when they need it \u2014 the TikTok algorithm just isn\u2019t that interested. Maybe once in a while, your social-media algorithms will serve up something heartwarming,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=MhCHcIxdo3M\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-testid=\"standard-link\">like those two toddlers who were so overjoyed to see to each other on the sidewalk<\/a><\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span>. But by and large, your social-media feed is there to tell you, \u201cThis stinks, that stinks, look at this freak, look at what this weirdo is doing, aren\u2019t human beings just the worst, we\u2019re all doomed, the world is going to heck in a handbasket.\u201d No wonder\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/childmind.org\/article\/is-social-media-use-causing-depression\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-testid=\"standard-link\">people think social media causes depression<\/a><\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Now, look, it\u2019s your life, and you\u2019re free to pick whatever entertainment and news sources you like. (And hey, thanks for reading this newsletter.) If they\u2019re not harming others or themselves, let them be.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">But your attention is a valuable thing. Your time and attentiveness are finite, and each thing you read or watch is a choice. You might even think of it as a resource to be invested. Those social-media algorithms are designed to steer you in a particular direction. But what <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>can\u2019t possibly happen<\/em><\/span><\/strong>, we are <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>supposed to believe<\/em><\/span><\/strong>, is that the constant discussion and celebration of transgenderism might convince confused young people to decide they are nonbinary or trans.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>No offense to Rich, but <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>leave <\/em><em>us<\/em><em> out<\/em><\/span> of the collective claim.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>(2).
