But there\u2019s one aspect in particular that stands out. <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong>And that is the fact that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>if the basic structure of arms transfers from the U.S. to Israel is described accurately in the story<\/em><\/span>\u2013<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>and it appears it is<\/em><\/span>\u2013<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>the last refuge of Barack Obama\u2019s defenders on his attitude toward Israel has evaporated<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000; padding-left: 30px;\">It\u2019s been hard to keep up with all the Obama Doctrines that have emerged over the past five years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 300; padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>First, the Libyan war gave us the doctrine of \u201cleading from behind.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 300; padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Then, in Syria, we saw the birth of a new Obama Doctrine: military action \u201cjust muscular enough not to get mocked\u201d (though, Obama backed off of even those miniscule strikes, taking that one out of contention).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 300; padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Then earlier this year, Obama claimed the guiding principle of his foreign policy was \u201cDon\u2019t do stupid shi*t.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 300; padding-left: 30px;\">Now, in an interview with The New York Times\u2019 Thomas Friedman, Obama unveiled yet another Doctrine \u2013 <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><em>one, he says, that guides both his domestic <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">and<\/span> foreign policies<\/em>:<\/strong> <strong>\u201cNo victor\/no vanquished.\u201d<\/strong> <\/span>Said Obama:<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: inherit; font-style: inherit;\"><em>We have so many things going for us right now as a country \u2014 from new energy resources to innovation to a growing economy \u2014 but we will never realize our full potential unless our two parties adopt the same outlook that we\u2019re asking of Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds or Israelis and Palestinians: No victor, no vanquished and work together.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 300; padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><em>It\u2019s hard to fathom just how inane \u2013 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">and hypocritical<\/span> \u2013 this is<\/em>.<\/strong><\/span> Domestically, Obama didn\u2019t exactly follow the \u201cno victor\/no vanquished\u201d approach when he controlled both houses of Congress and rammed the stimulus and Obamacare through on party-line votes. House Republican Whip Eric Cantor gave President Obama a list of modest proposals for the stimulus at a White House meeting, but Obama told the assembled Republicans that\u00a0\u201celections have consequences\u201d and \u201cI won.\u201d\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">In other words, he was the \u201cvictor\u201d and they were the \u201cvanquished.\u201d<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Deal with it<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 300; padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Internationally, does he really believe that we should follow a doctrine of \u201cno victor\/no vanquished\u201d when it comes to the fight with the Islamic State \u2013 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>a movement so radical it has been crucifying its opponents<\/em><\/span>? <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Apparently so.<\/span><\/strong><\/span> For a year, he rejected\u00a0repeated calls by the Iraqi government for drone strikes to prevent the advance of the Islamic State. Now that the Islamic State has taken control of large swaths of Iraq, Obama has launched limited strikes \u2013 only to protect US diplomatic facilities in northern Iraq (for fear of another Benghazi) and prevent the massacre of Yazidi minorities, but not to defeat the Islamic State or drive it from its strongholds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 300; padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>So it seems our policy when it comes to the Islamic State is a hybrid of the Obama Doctrines: \u201cno victor\/no vanquished\u201d and strikes \u201cjust muscular enough not to get mocked.\u201d\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>That explains <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a lot<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>We can only imagine the scene as Tick-Tock Barack questioned his minions following the Friedman interview:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5goH0hxUM8A?start=5\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Only an educated idiot of similar stupidity&#8230;like Thomas Friedman&#8230;could listen to such drivel with a straight face. \u00a0And only a self-absorbed Socialist like Hillary could believe she can distance herself from responsibility after personally conducting this foreign-policy fiasco. \u00a0As Peggy Noonan notes&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;&#8230;Everyone knew that Mrs. Clinton would have to detach herself politically from Mr. Obama, an increasingly unpopular president. But she was his secretary of state for four years, so the distancing would have to be done with some deftness and delicacy, and deeper into the election cycle, not now. Instead, it was done with blunt force. In the interview Mrs. Clinton went square at the president&#8217;s foreign-policy vision, or lack of it. &#8220;Great nations need organizing principles, and &#8216;Don&#8217;t do stupid stuff,&#8217; is not an organizing principle.&#8221; <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>This is both true and well stated, but it is remarkable to hear it from, again, a person who until February 2013 was his secretary of state, presumably an intimate and part of the creation of his foreign policy.<\/strong><\/span>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>And in national news of note, courtesy of the<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<em>WSJ<\/em>, Jason Riley offers NYC Police Commissioner Bill Bratton&#8217;s thoughts on what&#8217;s really behind the flames in Ferguson, MO:<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"color: #000000; padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\"><a title=\"Bratton Pushes Back\" href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/articles\/political-diary-bratton-pushes-back-1407964138\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\">Bratton Pushes Back<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/FNS_black_crime_graphic__my_grab.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-26831\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/FNS_black_crime_graphic__my_grab.png\" alt=\"FNS_black_crime_graphic__my_grab\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/FNS_black_crime_graphic__my_grab.png 400w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/FNS_black_crime_graphic__my_grab-300x168.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;&#8230;<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>&#8220;What we&#8217;ve seen in the past few months is a number of individuals failing to understand that you must submit to arrest.<\/strong><\/span> You cannot resist,&#8221; said Mr. Bratton in a radio interview Tuesday. &#8220;The place to argue your case is in the court, not in the street.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">&#8230;Mr. Bratton also said that police find themselves in black neighborhoods more often because that is where most of the 911 calls originate.<\/span> So while liberals complain that these neighborhoods are &#8220;over-policed,&#8221; the reality is that the law-abiding residents of those communities want the police there.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong><em>Black arrest rates reflect black criminality, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not<\/span> racial prejudice<\/em>.<\/strong><\/span> The black crime rate in the 1950s was lower than it is today. Was there less racism back then? Data consistently show little if any difference between the rate at which police arrest blacks and the rate at which victims of crime identify blacks as their attackers. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>The problem is black behavior<\/em><\/span>, a topic that the race hustlers and their media enablers studiously avoid.<\/strong><\/span>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Which brings us to this amazingly even-handed editorial in the <em>St. Louis Post-Dispatch<\/em>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"color: black; padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a title=\"Governor must let Ferguson be where better begins\" href=\"http:\/\/www.stltoday.com\/news\/opinion\/columns\/the-platform\/editorial-governor-must-let-ferguson-be-where-better-begins\/article_4a53e231-5b93-58d9-8935-accaf2cd9edd.html\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000; text-decoration: underline;\">Governor Must Let Ferguson Be Where Better Begins<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/53ea80ee16a2a.preview-620.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-26840\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/53ea80ee16a2a.preview-620.jpg\" alt=\"53ea80ee16a2a.preview-620\" width=\"400\" height=\"211\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/53ea80ee16a2a.preview-620.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/53ea80ee16a2a.preview-620-300x158.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000; padding-left: 30px;\">As soon as the unrest\u00a0in Ferguson is over \u2014 and let it be soon \u2014 there must be a thorough, independent and timely investigation into how and why it happened and the police response to it. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>This inquiry would go beyond the parallel criminal investigations and get into the root causes of this madness.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000; padding-left: 30px;\">Yes, the immediate cause \u2014 the \u201ctipping point\u201d they call it in the literature of civil unrest \u2014 was the fatal shooting Saturday of 18-year-old Michael Brown by a still-unidentified Ferguson police officer. (By the way, the\u00a0failure to identify\u00a0the officer violates every principle of transparency recommended by law enforcement experts. Society grants police officers the right to use deadly force. That right carries special obligations, one of which is strict public accountability. The longer the officer stays anonymous, the more public confidence is undermined.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000; padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;One big problem\u00a0with convening such an investigative panel is that it\u2019s not clear who has jurisdiction. The same problem plagues the entire response in Ferguson: Who has command authority? Who is accountable for the decisions that are being made?<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000; padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>&#8230;It will have to be Missouri Gov. NHS England figures for July 2013 show that 508,555 people in London alone were waiting for operations or other treatments\u2014the highest total for at least five years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Even cancer patients have to wait: According to a June report by NHS England, more than 15% of patients referred by their general practitioner for &#8220;urgent&#8221; treatment after being diagnosed with suspected cancer waited more than 62 days\u2014two full months\u2014to begin their first definitive
