We\u2019re likely to admit 1,000 to 2,000 Syrian refugees for permanent resettlement in Fiscal Year 2015 and a somewhat higher number, though still in the low thousands, in Fiscal Year 2016,&#8221; spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters on Friday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">But at a hearing of the House Homeland Security Committee last week, Chairman Mike McCaul (R-Texas) said it would be a &#8220;huge mistake&#8221; to bring refugees from Syria and Turkey into the United States where they &#8220;could potentially be radicalized.&#8221;<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Psaki told reporters on Friday that national security &#8220;is absolutely a priority&#8221; What is on offer here is the American left\u2019s version of realpolitik. <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>The decision by the Obama White House not to deploy American resources is thought-out, brutal and unapologetic.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">President Obama in his Feb. 6 national-security statement explained what he is doing\u2014or not doing. He was precise and clear:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><em>\u201cWe have to make hard choices among many competing priorities and we must always resist the overreach that comes when we make decisions based upon fear.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Short version: <em>He\u2019s not spending real money on any of this<\/em>. <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Get over it<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">There is an important difference between left-wing realpolitik and the conservative realpolitik normally associated with Henry Kissinger and Brent Scowcroft. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>The <em>conservatives\u2019 <\/em>version was about making choices among competing uses of American military resources <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>abroad<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><em>Left-wing<\/em> realpolitik <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">has no serious interest in the world beyond America\u2019s borders<\/span><\/em>.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #008000;\">(Unless it involves opposing Israel.)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>The only realism the left admits to is what it sees as a U.S. beset\u2014forever\u2014by poverty, economic injustice and \u201cunmet needs.\u201d <span style=\"color: #333399;\">Thus Mr. Obama produces a $3.99 trillion budget to end \u201cmindless austerity.\u201d<\/span> The world beyond this is a footnote.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>We&#8217;d suggest repeating to yourself &#8220;less than 2 more years&#8230;less than 2 more years&#8221;; unfortunately, though Rome wasn&#8217;t built in a day, it <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>fell<\/em><\/span> practically overnight.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Next stance is embraced and promoted by leading Saudi clerics in charge of the country\u2019s religious authority.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>\u201cIt makes perfect sense for a Saudi cleric to be arguing that the sun revolves around the Earth because this is the sort of message they are getting from on high,\u201d according to David Weinberg, a senior fellow at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;Al-Khaibary\u2019s lecture on astronomy took place in late January, during a government-sponsored lecture in the United Arab Emirates,\u00a0according\u00a0to sources provided by FDD. <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>He has given similar lectures sponsored\u00a0by the Saudi government.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>In addition to promoting the notion that the Earth is stationary in space, al-Khaibary\u2019s mentor cleric Fawzan has\u00a0claimed\u00a0that the Islamic State (IS) terror group is a creation of \u201cZionists, crusaders, and Safavids,\u201d according to Weinberg.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0\u201cThat\u2019s the sort of message that Saudi religious officials are receiving from the state\u2019s favorite clergy,\u201d Weinberg said&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Further proof, as if any were needed, Islam is indeed \u201cthe religion which has produced nothing but religion\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>President Obama was quick to react to what he termed the Saudis&#8217; misunderstanding of &#8220;settled science&#8221;, pointing out that in reality, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>everything<\/em><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>including<\/em><\/span> the earth and sun, actually&#8230;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a
