Why race to prevent an ally from developing a capability we have just ceded to an enemy? <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>What\u2019s the point of providing the Saudis with defense capabilities they presumably don\u2019t need?<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>A hypochondriac convinced he has cancer isn\u2019t usually offered a course of chemotherapy<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>What we have <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">here<\/span> is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ObamaCare for Arabia<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;Meantime, Iran gets $150 billion in mostly upfront sanctions relief. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Susan Rice insists that \u201cfor the most part\u201d the money will be spent on \u201cthe Iranian people and their economy,\u201d <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>an insight the national security adviser must have from the same people who briefed her on Benghazi and Bowe Bergdahl<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> But she also admits that some of the money <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>might<\/em><\/span> be spent on Iran\u2019s \u201cbad behavior in the region\u201d\u2014<em>but <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">that\u2019s<\/span> OK <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">because the nuclear deal \u201cwas not designed to prevent them from engaging in bad behavior<\/span><\/em>.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/W_Sj8UNn0wQ?start=254\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Let it be entered into the record that the United States government has agreed to release monies that it believes will be used to fund Iran\u2019s terrorist proxies. It has done so on the intriguing rationale that, in order to prevent the Middle East from becoming a very dangerous place in the future, it is necessary to allow it to become a very dangerous place now. <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>To adapt a phrase, <em>the administration believes that it has to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">destroy<\/span> a region in order to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">save<\/span> it<\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Iran will get its money. It will redouble its bad behavior. And sooner or later it will probably get its bomb. The most Congress can do now is to lay a political predicate for the next president to disavow the deal. <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Good luck<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Good luck is right; &#8216;cuz as Hillel Fradkin and Lewis Libby also recount in the <em>Journal<\/em>, given the reality of <em>The Deal of the Century<\/em>, America is going to need <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>all the luck it can get<\/em><\/span>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"wsj-article-headline\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/iran-inspections-in-24-days-not-even-close-1437521911\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #008000; text-decoration: underline;\">Iran Inspections in 24 Days? But that\u2019s hardly how a recalcitrant Iran is likely to interpret the deal. <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong><em>A close examination of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action released by the Obama administration reveals that its terms permit Iran to hold inspectors at bay for <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">months<\/span>, likely <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">three or more<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Paragraphs 74 to 78 govern the International Atomic Energy Agency\u2019s access to suspect sites. First, the IAEA tells Iran \u201cthe basis\u201d of its concerns about a particular location, requesting clarification. At this point Iran will know where the IAEA is headed. This can be achieved, for example, through regional growth boundaries (as in Portland), or by relative neglect of highway-building and repair in favor of public transportation. 2) Force the urban poor into the suburbs through the imposition of low-income housing quotas. 3) Institute \u201cregional tax-base sharing,\u201d where a state forces upper-middle-class suburbs to transfer tax revenue to nearby cities and less-well-off inner-ring suburbs (as in Minneapolis\/St. Paul)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><em>If you press suburbanites into cities, transfer urbanites to the suburbs, and redistribute suburban tax money to cities, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">you have effectively abolished the suburbs<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>For all practical purposes, the suburbs would then be co-opted into a single metropolitan region<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span> Advocates of these policy prescriptions call themselves \u201cregionalists.\u201d&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here&#8217;s the juice. \u00a0We&#8217;ve said it before, we&#8217;ll say it again: paraphrasing John 8:44, Obama belongs to his father, the devil, and he wants to carry out his father&#8217;s desires.
