The Missing Hillary Emails No One Can Explain<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n

“Among the approximately 2,000 emails that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has released from her private account, there is a conspicuous two-month gap. There are no emails between Clinton and her State Department staff during May and June 2012, a period of escalating violence in Libya leading up to the September 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi that left four Americans dead<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

A State Department spokesman told The Daily Beast that for the year 2012, only those emails related to the security of the consulate or to the U.S. diplomatic presence in Libya were made public and turned over to a House committee investigating the fatal Benghazi assault. But if that\u2019s<\/em><\/span> true, then neither Clinton nor her staff communicated via email about the escalating dangers in Libya<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> There were three attacks during that two-month period, including one that targeted the consulate.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

That two-month period also coincides with a senior Clinton aide obtaining a special exemption that allowed her to work both as a staff member to the secretary and in a private capacity for Clinton and her husband\u2019s foundation.<\/strong><\/span> The Associated Press has sued to obtain emails from Clinton\u2019s account about the aide, Huma Abedin…”<\/p>\n

“…\u201cChicago politics\u201d seems a common denominator in serial scandals involving political bias, cronyism, and incompetence at the VA, IRS, DHS, ICE, NSA, Secret Service, and, most recently, Office of Personnel Management.<\/span> The NSA\u2019s monitoring of the Associated Press journalists fit perfectly the Chicago stereotype, which often involves two prime characteristics: sending a message to political opponents that the power of government can be unleashed against unwise criticism, and using off-the record understandings and under-the-table sweeteners to close a deal<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Obama has been not just voicing<\/em><\/span> Chicago clich\u00e9s, but apparently living<\/em><\/span> them.<\/strong><\/span> Was it just a coincidence that, right before the 2012 election, amateur video-maker Nakoula Basseley Nakoula found himself put in prison for a\u00a0minor parole violation?<\/strong><\/span> The administration had falsely blamed Nakoula\u2019s little-watched video \u2014 rather than an al-Qaeda affiliate and the administration\u2019s own lax security \u2014 as the cause of the lethal attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya. The public shrugged at the jailing of the distasteful Nakoula, as if the hounding of an American resident on a trumped-up charge to mask the culpability of the White House were a minor affair.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Was it just a coincidence that Senator Bob Menendez (D., N.J.) in April suddenly found himself indicted by a federal attorney on three-year-old, and previously aired, charges \u2014 right after he voiced sharp criticism of the administration\u2019s ongoing Iran deal?<\/span> Was the not-so-subtle message to congressional Democrats, \u201cDon\u2019t buck the administration if you know what\u2019s good for you\u201d?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking of Iran, why is the administration suddenly talking of releasing master spy and traitor Jonathan Pollard ahead of his parole date<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/strong>? <\/strong><\/span>Pollard has served 27 years of a life sentence for spying for Israel. Previously, the Obama administration would not even let Pollard visit his dying father.<\/strong><\/span> Is administration talk of Pollard\u2019s early release designed as a sop to Israel over the Iran deal \u2014 a supposed way to cool Israel\u2019s loud opposition, which might threaten congressional ratification of the deal? In Chicago fashion, when a deal is stuck, you add extraneous sweeteners or punishments to move it along<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

What are<\/em><\/span> the recently exposed \u201cside deals\u201d with Iran?<\/span>\u00a0(As our Tales From the Darkside<\/em> video above (#2) confirms, Secretary of State John Kerry sure as hell doesn’t know!!!)<\/span>\u00a0Why does<\/em><\/span> the administration brag about the transparent provisions of the treaty<\/em><\/span>, while hiding<\/em><\/span> two concessions to the Iranian theocracy concerning its ongoing uranium enrichment and areas off-limits to inspections?<\/strong><\/span>…”<\/p>\n

But I think, if he wins the Republican nomination, far from an impossibility at the moment, he will have an easier<\/em><\/span> time with the Democrats<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Can you imagine Trump against Hillary (if she\u2019s not indicted by then) or Trump against Sanders? The former would be a demolition derby and the latter would be a hoot.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0Wait until Donald tries to get Sanders to defend Greece. \u00a0Socialism has never worked in history, not once<\/em><\/span>, but damned if Bernie knows<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> We can rely on Donald to tell him<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

And here\u2019s another thing. Who do you think will really do better with blacks and Latinos in the end \u2014 Hillary, Bernie or Home Boy who can get you a job? They\u2019re not idiots.<\/p>\n

Look, I\u2019m sorry for the other Republican candidates. There\u2019re a lot of good ones actually.<\/span> But let\u2019s skip to the bottom line.<\/strong><\/span> What would a Trump presidency look<\/em><\/span> like?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Ted Cruz goes to war with the GOP Senate leadership; Hillary Clinton proposes the highest tax rates in 70 years; Marco Rubio goes after John Kerry on the Iran deal in a Senate hearing. Well,\u00a0big deal<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> Phffft. They\u2019ve all been crowded out by the Trump noise<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span> There will be the first Republican debate in ten days. It\u2019s the most important political event of the year thus far. And it will be all about Trump<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span> He will see to that; the reporters will see to that, and the minor candidates looking to move up will see to it by trying to pick fights with him and best him.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not enough to say that there are matters of deathly seriousness to be discussed, from Iran to ISIS to the possible collapse of the Euro and the Chinese economy\u00a0to the harvesting of fetal organs, because there are always serious matters to be discussed as elections approach.<\/span> The issue with Trump is that his approach can\u00a0only be called \u201cthe politics of unseriousness<\/span><\/em>.\u201d<\/strong><\/span> He engages with no issue, merely offers a hostile and pithy soundbite bromide about it. He yammers.<\/span> He describes how wonderful things will be when<\/span> he acts against something or other without explaining how<\/span> he will act, what<\/span> he will do, or how it will work<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Trump view, boiled down:<\/p>\n

They\u2019re all idiots and I\u2019m very rich and I know how to do things and if you say Word One against me I will say something incredibly nasty about you and who cares about how the Senate works or the House works or international alliances work or how treaties work or how anything works.<\/strong><\/span> That stuff is for sissies and losers and disasters. I know how to do it I me me me I me me I I me. And me. And I.<\/em><\/p>\n

…And while happy talk (some of which I\u2019ve indulged in myself) may dismiss Trump as this year\u2019s flash-in-the-pan like the 2012 Republican also-rans, right now he\u2019s more likely a version of Ross\u00a0Perot<\/em><\/span> in 1992 \u2014 the man who got Bill Clinton elected<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong> Perot managed to convince people he was only in it to talk about the deficit and the national debt when it was probably more the case he was running out of a long-standing personal animus toward George H.W. Bush and a desire to deny him the presidency based on an imagined slight.<\/strong> Trump doesn\u2019t even have a real issue to bring in Democrats and Republicans dissatisfied with their choices.<\/span> Trump<\/em><\/span> is Trump\u2019s<\/em><\/span> issue<\/strong><\/span>…”<\/p>\n
