\u00a0It&#8217;s time for both of these fossilized career politicians to GTF out of the way; better yet, for the Republican Party to show them the door!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Now, here&#8217;s The Gouge!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Since we&#8217;re in the midst of a severe spell of DID, today&#8217;s edition will be short and sweet; Bowe Bergdahl, the soldier held prisoner for years by the Taliban after leaving his post in Afghanistan.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span style=\"color: #d99032;\"><strong><em>Observers wondered for months if Bergdahl would be charged with desertion after the deal brokered by the U.S. to bring him home. <span style=\"color: #808000;\">He <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">was<\/span> \u2014 but he was also charged with <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">misbehavior before the enemy<\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a much rarer offense that carries a stiffer potential penalty in this case<\/span>.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #d99032;\"><strong>Misbehavior before the enemy violates Article 99 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and includes grotesquely dishonorable behavior, including\u00a0running away, \u201cshamefully\u201d abandoning any place that it is his \u201cduty to defend,\u201d \u201ccowardly conduct,\u201d or endangering the safety of his unit through his own \u201cdisobedience, neglect, or intentional misconduct.\u201d<\/strong><\/span> The maximum penalty is death, but it\u2019s highly unlikely that the Army will seek to execute Bergdahl. Life imprisonment, however, is much more realistic.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Given what we know about this case, Article 99 is an appropriate charge. As he knew \u2014 as everyone knew who served downrange \u2014 the military will launch a massive search for any soldier missing in action. Not only is there a moral imperative not to leave a fallen comrade, prisoners in enemy hands would likely be tortured, exploited for intelligence information, then executed (on film) in the most brutal way possible. <span style=\"color: #808000;\"><strong>While the military apparently disputes the allegation that soldiers died searching for Bergdahl, he unquestionably put his brothers-in-arms at immense risk.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Next up is an Article 32 hearing on September 17.<span style=\"color: #d99032;\"><strong> More evidence will emerge during the court-martial proceedings, but thus far I\u2019ve seen nothing to contradict the charge and much evidence to support the prosecution. <span style=\"color: #808000;\">In the meantime, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>five Taliban commanders were unavailable for comment<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>They were too busy plotting the deaths of American soldiers and civilians<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thus Bowe Bergdahl will almost&#8230;&#8221;almost&#8221; hell&#8230;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>most<\/em><\/span> assuredly cost additional Americans their lives. \u00a0And with the extra $150 billion they just handed the Iranians, Der Obafuhrer&#8217;s Dimocratic sycophants in the Senate ensure The Dear Misleader is the gift that keeps on giving many years into the future.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>All of which makes, as Mike Mukasey details at the <em>WSJ<\/em>, what follows a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>most<\/em><\/span> monumental task:<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"wsj-article-headline\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/cleaning-up-after-the-obama-teams-iran-deal-1442183127\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #008000; text-decoration: underline;\">Cleaning Up After the Obama Team\u2019s Iran Deal<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/h1>\n<h3 class=\"sub-head\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/cleaning-up-after-the-obama-teams-iran-deal-1442183127\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Show Tehran the ways it may lose what it won at the gaming tables in Vienna<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Obama-Broom.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-33185\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Obama-Broom.jpg\" alt=\"Obama Broom\" width=\"400\" height=\"265\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Obama-Broom.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Obama-Broom-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;<span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>\u2018We couldn\u2019t have negotiated a better deal.&#8217; <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">That is one of the two pillars of the Obama administration\u2019s argument in favor of its nuclear arrangement with Iran, the other being, \u201cthere\u2019s no alternative but war.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/span> Those two propositions appear to have won the day\u2014at least with enough Democrats in Congress to prevent a vote disapproving of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. The Iran deal remains deeply unpopular with the American public and with the Republican majority in Congress.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Over the past few months, the two propositions regarding the deal left opponents sputtering a catalog of its numerous defects.<\/span><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong> But it must be admitted that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>the first proposition<\/em><\/span>\u2014\u201c<em>we couldn\u2019t have negotiated a better deal<\/em>\u201d\u2014<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>is plainly true<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Gen. Asked about this claim on\u00a0Face the Nation,\u00a0Carly Fiorina\u00a0struck a skeptical tone:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong><em>I don\u2019t think it\u2019s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">plausible<\/span> for her to say, \u2018Oh, I wasn\u2019t paying any attention.\u2019\u00a0<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">She clearly was paying attention<\/span>. <\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Fiorina noted that one does not just fall into such an arrangement:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">It takes a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">lot<\/span> of work <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">to install a private server system in your basement<\/span>.<\/span> I<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">t takes a lot of work to make sure that you are having the right connections to conduct both personal and professional business over that system<\/span>.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Fiorina also pointed out that Clinton had hired a professional to set up the system:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">We know<\/span>, for example, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">that she hired into the State Department a political operative who had done IT work on her campaign and for her PAC<\/span>.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">That IT operative was paid $5,000<\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not by taxpayers<\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">but by Mrs. Clinton herself<\/span> to do IT work on that basement server.<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">That actually takes a lot of work<\/span>.<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>As <em>Hope n&#8217; Change<\/em> observes, at the time <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>she<\/em><\/span> had her <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>illegal private server<\/em><\/span>\u00a0installed, Hillary&#8217;s legendary laser-like focus and peerless Progressive intellect <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>must<\/em><\/span> have been targeted elsewhere:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a <em>after someone cut the rope tethering the pony to his tree<\/em>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>attached him to a vehicle and dragged him for more than a mile on asphalt roads and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>aren&#8217;t<\/em><\/span> isolated events. \u00a0Crimes against cops are a common commodity&#8230;the rule of law a joke&#8230;heretofore commonly-held Judeo-Christian moral principles disregarded in favor of amorality and anarchy. \u00a0Meanwhile, the most intolerant religion on the planet is afforded both tolerance and, in fact, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>favor<\/em><\/span> by the political party <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>pretending<\/em><\/span> to promote the interests of those most
