style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>continued NoKo demonstrations of bad faith<\/em><\/span><\/a>; and, (b) it&#8217;s obvious to us The Donald either wrote or dictated the cancellation letter\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>himself<\/em><\/span>, because it <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>reads<\/em><\/span>&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/1-4c97f6d036.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/the-real-constitutional-crisis-1527201552\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The FBI and Justice Department continue evading congressional oversight<\/span><\/a><\/span>.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/mqdefault.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-59747\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/mqdefault.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;Democrats and their media allies are again shouting \u201cconstitutional crisis,\u201d this time claiming President Trump has waded too far into the Russia investigation. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>The howls are a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>diversion<\/em><\/span> from the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>actual<\/em><\/span> crisis: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>the Justice Department\u2019s unprecedented contempt for duly elected representatives, and the lasting harm it is doing to law enforcement and to the department\u2019s relationship with Congress<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>This intransigence is creating an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>unprecedented toxicity<\/em><\/span> between law enforcement and Congress, undermining what has long been a cooperative and vital relationship. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">It is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>also<\/em><\/span> pushing lawmakers <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>ever closer to holding Justice Department officials in contempt or impeaching them<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> Congress hasn\u2019t impeached a member of the executive branch (presidents excepted) since the 19th century. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Let\u2019s agree such a step would amount to a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>real crisis<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <em>And the pressure to use these tools to get disclosure is growing, as congressional Republicans worry about losing their oversight authority in the midterms, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">and suspect the Justice Department is stringing them along for that very reason<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Which is why Mr. Trump was right to order that Justice comply with Mr. Nunes\u2019s demands for documents about the alleged FBI spy Stefan Halper and other information related to the catalyst of this investigation.<\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>As president, he has a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>duty<\/em><\/span> to protect the reputation and integrity of the Justice Department\u2014<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>even from its own leaders<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span> Forcing officials to comply with legitimate congressional oversight is far better than sitting back to watch those same officials singe the institution and its relationship with Congress in a flame of impeachment resolutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Mr. Trump has an even <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>quicker<\/em><\/span> way to bring the hostility to an end. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">He <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>can<\/em><\/span>\u2014and <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">should<\/span><\/em>\u2014<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>declassify everything possible<\/em><\/span>, letting Congress <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>and<\/em><\/span> the public <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>see the truth<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>That would put an end to the daily spin and conspiracy theories<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">It would puncture Democratic arguments that the administration is seeking to gain this information only for itself, to \u201cundermine\u201d an investigation.<\/span> And it would <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>end<\/em><\/span> the Justice Department\u2019s\u00a0<span style=\"color: #008000;\">(<em>self-serving, CYA<\/em>)<\/span> campaign of secrecy, which has done such harm to its reputation with the public and with Congress.<\/strong><\/span>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Which begs the\u00a0question why doesn&#8217;t Trump just DO IT?!?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>As well as fairly <span style=\"text-decoration:
