…given the effectiveness of House Republicans over the last two years, how bad can gridlock be<\/em><\/span>?!?\u00a0 We can think of an awful lot of things way worse<\/em><\/span> than Mad Maxine and Nancy the Red spouting their Socialist syllabi 24\/7.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Seriously, other than tax cuts, what exactly did<\/em><\/span> Paul Ryan’s House accomplish<\/em><\/span>\u00a0of any real significance which Pelosi can undo<\/em><\/span>?\u00a0 The vast majority of Conservative victories over the last two years have come through, at least according to the NeverTrumpers, the unlikeliest of sources:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Trump vs. Pelosi: A Match Made in Heaven<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/h1>\n

The president has a useful foil, and Pelosi can now pursue her dream of getting Trump\u2019s tax returns<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/h3>\n

“I<\/span>t was no accident or blunder that Donald Trump tweeted a congratulations to Nancy Pelosi and told Democrats that she should be the next speaker of the House. \u201cShe earned it,\u201d the president declared.<\/p>\n

And how beautifully does that work out for Trump? In Nancy Pelosi<\/em>, liberals are about to hand to the GOP the gift that just keeps giving<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> Pelosi is in many polls the least popular politician in America<\/em><\/span> \u2014 she\u2019s less popular<\/em><\/span> than even Donald Trump<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span> If the Democrats were a semi-sane party<\/em><\/span> and not handcuffed to the identity politics that prevents them from ever firing any woman or minority<\/em><\/span> no matter how big<\/em><\/span> a liability, Pelosi<\/em><\/span> would be the last person on earth<\/em><\/span> they would pick to be speaker.<\/strong> <\/span>Smart Democrats with whom I talk know that this is the case, but they can only half-whisper this truth.<\/p>\n

…Meanwhile, Pelosi has already announced her first<\/em> big new idea<\/em><\/span> for Democrats.<\/strong><\/span> Drum roll, please<\/em><\/span>. She wants to force Trump to release his tax returns.<\/span><\/strong> <\/span>Now there\u2019s an inspiring issue that will help make America great again. Next she wants to hamstring Trump with investigations, possibly initiate impeachment hearings, and unleash Maxine Waters of California as the incoming chairman of the powerful Financial Services Committee on the banking and investment industry. (Since Wall Street and many of the big banks showered Dems with money this cycle, it\u2019s hard to feel sorry for them. What did they think were buying?)<\/p>\n

Maybe Pelosi will try to declare America a sanctuary country and shut down the border patrol. And perhaps her green allies will help her shut down all fossil-fuel development in America \u2014 thereby turning off the lights and putting many millions of workers out of jobs.<\/span> You go<\/span>, girl<\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In other words, Pelosi will give Americans a front-row seat into what \u201cprogressive\u201d governance looks like up front and personal when the crazies are back running the show<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span> It isn\u2019t pretty, but it\u2019s much better for voters to discover the madness of the modern Democratic party now than two years from now when the stakes will be so much larger. Trump finally<\/em> has what he\u2019s been missing<\/em><\/span> since he vanquished Crooked Hillary two years ago: a foil<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

And that<\/em><\/span>, ladies and gentlemen, is why Donald Trump<\/em><\/span> is the biggest winner<\/em><\/span> in last week\u2019s midterm elections.<\/strong><\/span>“<\/p>\n

And consider these two thoughts on the election results from Pete Groetzinger…<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Consider this. Assuming, as Politico<\/em> loves to say, the House elections are the purest vote on the popularity of a sitting President, last night, with a huge fundraising advantage and a fired up whack job base<\/em><\/span>, the Democrats <\/em>gained about 35 seats<\/em><\/span>. Compare this to 2010 when Obama<\/em><\/span> was the sitting President and the Republicans picked up 63 seats<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> On top<\/span> of this the Republicans will add three seats in the Senate<\/span><\/em>. And the media darlings<\/em><\/span> of Texas, Florida and<\/em><\/span> Georgia all lost<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> All in all, not a bad night<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span>“<\/p>\n

First, as regards Jeff Sessions forced resignation as Attorney General<\/em><\/span><\/a>, while not rising to the level of good riddance to bad rubbish, we certainly won’t mourn his passing.<\/strong><\/p>\n
