style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;&#8230;Gary Montez Martin, the man who opened fire inside a manufacturing company in Aurora, Illinois, legally should not have been in possession of a firearm, police said on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;<span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>On Saturday, [Chief of Police] Ziman said that Martin, 45, purchased a handgun on March 6, 2014, after being issued an Illinois Firearm Owner\u2019s Identification (FOID) Card in January of that year. <span style=\"color: #800080;\">The firearm, a Smith and Wesson .40 caliber, was in Martin&#8217;s possession as of March 11, 2014.<\/span> <em>The FOID card application process includes a background check, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">but applicants are not fingerprinted<\/span><\/em>, Ziman said.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">It was only when Martin applied for a concealed carry permit on March 16, 2014, that he <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>was<\/em><\/span> fingerprinted and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>it was revealed he had a 1995 felony conviction for aggravated assault in Mississippi<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <em>Ziman said that upon the discovery of this conviction, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Martin&#8217;s concealed carry permit was rejected and his FOID card was revoked<\/span><\/em>. <span style=\"color: #800080;\">&#8220;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Absolutely<\/em><\/span> he was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not supposed to be in possession of a firearm<\/em><\/span>,&#8221; Ziman said.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Chief Ziman added that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Martin was mailed a letter noting that his FOID card had been revoked due to the felony charge and that he was required to turn over his handgun to police<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #800080;\">Was there a follow-up?<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>That remains to be seen<\/em><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8230;&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thus, like so many mass-shooters before him, despite countless statutes to the contrary, Martin, a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>convicted felon<\/em><\/span> (and thus, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>by definition<\/em><\/span>, <em>a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">lawbreaker<\/span><\/em>), simply <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>ignored<\/em><\/span> some of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>the most restrictive gun laws in the country<\/em><\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>maintained possession of his pistol<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Still, in an effort just as effective as the <em>Titanic<\/em>&#8216;s Second Officer Charles Lightoller advising his watch replacement, First Officer William Murdoch, to &#8220;be alert for icebergs&#8221;, Illinois authorities DID\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>send him a letter<\/em><\/span>!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XfdiXBA7f6U?start=74\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" confinement, lest he actually enjoy the experience.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>As for all the Progressives presidential candidates, pundits and MSM &#8220;journalists&#8221; <span style=\"color: #000000;\">who <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/news.grabien.com\/story-montage-watch-media-uncritically-accept-another-outlandish-h\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>(as can be seen in the video forwarded by Bill Meisen accessible through this link<\/em><\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>)<\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> prematurely opted for the politics of divisiveness rather than waiting for the facts, we won&#8217;t hold our breath allowing them time to apologize, let alone admit their egregious underline;\"><em>OKW<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0who so famously observed, &#8220;What matters is not what is true or false, but exclusively what is believed.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And
