is emblematic of what&#8217;s wrong with the MSM:<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"headline\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/entertainment\/robin-roberts-on-jussie-smollett-interview-it-was-a-no-win-situation-for-me\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #333399; actor on what she saw as &#8220;red flags&#8221; in the alleged attack and that the 36-year-old would also give her new information he hadn&#8217;t said anywhere else.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>&#8220;I&#8217;m like \u2014 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>as a journalist and as a news person<\/em><\/span>, this is his right,&#8221; Roberts stated.<\/strong><\/span> &#8220;He&#8217;s going on the record for the first time. Yes, I&#8217;ll do the interview.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Although she didn&#8217;t know how the interview was going\u00a0to go, Roberts said she worked to stay as &#8220;neutral&#8221; as possible.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>\u201cI\u2019m a black gay woman, he\u2019s a black gay man,\u201d she said. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cHe\u2019s saying that there\u2019s a hate crime, so if I\u2019m too hard, then my LGBT community is going to say, \u2018You don\u2019t believe a brother,\u2019 if I\u2019m too light on him, it\u2019s like, &#8216;Oh, because you are in the community, you\u2019re giving him a pass.&#8217;\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>\u201cIt was a no-win situation for me,\u201d Roberts added<\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Frankly, though we never watch it, we consider\u00a0<em>GMA<\/em> as entertainment, not news.\u00a0 But since Ms. Roberts chooses to self-identify &#8220;as a journalist and as a news person&#8221; her statements and conduct beg the question, &#8220;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Since when does what people might think\u00a0or say influence a &#8220;journalist&#8221; and\/or &#8220;news person&#8221; in their pursuit of the<\/em> <em>TRUTH<\/em><\/span>?!?&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>SPOILER ALERT<\/em>: It should <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>never<\/em><\/span>&#8230;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>EVER<\/em><\/span>!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In a related item courtesy of <em>American Greatness<\/em>, Victor Davis Hanson details how The Left is starting to feed on its own:<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"entry-title fusion-post-title\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\" data-fontsize=\"30\" data-lineheight=\"42\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/amgreatness.com\/2019\/03\/03\/pigs-on-two-legs-turn-on-each-other\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pigs on Two Legs Turn on Each Other<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Hanson-1024x576.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-67562\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Hanson-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Hanson-1024x576.png 400w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Hanson-1024x576-300x169.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span class=\"wpsdcp-drop-cap-default\">&#8220;T<\/span>ennis great Martina Navratilova until recently had long been coronated as a social justice trailblazer. She was one of the first marquee celebrity athletes to come out as gay, and then to advocate lesbian issues in and out of sports. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>But suddenly the icon seems out of step with her progressive legend status.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Navratilova had the temerity to suggest that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">one\u2019s sex is biologically determined<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> In other words, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>transgenderism<\/em><\/span>, even with the imprimatur of the social and biological sciences, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>cannot trump our innate genetic codes<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>A frustrated Navratilova was editorializing mostly i<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>n the context of men \u201ctransitioning\u201d to women<\/em><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>while in many cases still enjoying innate muscular and size advantages over females in same-sex sporting events<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">As a result, she is being demonized unfairly as an intersectional traitor (\u201ctransphobic\u201d) and thus increasingly disinvited from a number of events by what is known as the LGBTQ community. <span style=\"color: #008000;\">(<em>For yet another example of such politically-correct shunning, catch the\u00a0Tales From the Darkside video, accessible through link #3 at the top of the page just below our Quote of the Day<\/em>.)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>In other words, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>her intersectional femaleness and gayness are revoked by improper ideology<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Barack Obama, once the progressive \u201cgod\u201d who was acclaimed to have the power to cool the planet and halt the rising of the seas, had the recent audacity to suggest, quite understandably, that young black teens need not ostentatiously show their wealth with gaudy chains, or highlight their sexuality with a cadre of \u201ctwerking\u201d girls. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Worse<\/em><\/span>, the now multi-million-dollar-mansion-residing Obama sort of suggested that young inner-city African-Americans who do such gauche things might be insecure about either their income or their sexuality.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Now <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>even the divine Obama<\/em><\/span> is having his \u00a0ankles bitten on social media as a counterrevolutionary, despite his prior denunciations of white bitter clingers, \u201cthe 1 percent,\u201d and greedy capitalists who delusionally believed they had built their own businesses.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The new generation has forgotten that the now graying Obama once had the audacity to invite\u00a0Kendrick Lamar\u00a0into the White House. He also celebrated as his official portrait painter\u00a0Kehinde Wiley. Remember the former was lauded for his\u00a0album-cover\u00a0showing a dead white judge, with eyes x-ed out, whose demise was being celebrating by toasting rappers on the White House lawn, while the latter for a while had a cachet of taking a couple of Old Master\u00a0paintings of decapitations\u00a0and redoing them with black decapitators and white decapitated\u2014e.g., \u201cIt\u2019s sort of a play on the \u2018kill whitey\u2019 thing.\u201d <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Was that not revolutionary enough? <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">No, no\u2014<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>that<\/em><\/span> was\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><i>yesterday<\/i><\/span>.<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Today<\/em><\/span> the revolution <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>has passed over the once-edgy Obama<\/em><\/span> (\u201c<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.politicususa.com\/2008\/06\/14\/obama-philly.html\" class=\"broken_link\">bring a gun to a knife fight<\/a><\/span><\/em>\u201d).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Now to the Left he sounds more like a crabby Bill Cosby ranting about falling-down trousers.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/ouroboros.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-67593\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/ouroboros.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"277\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/ouroboros.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/ouroboros-300x208.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>In such a revolutionary scramble to be the most diverse and hard left, the logical trajectory ends up with a race to transcend the physical limits of victimhood.<\/strong><\/span> Think of the devolution of French anti-monarchists to republicans to Girondists to Jacobins\u2014and on to Napoleon. Or remember how the anti-Czarists aristocrats were overwhelmed by Mensheviks who were crushed by the Bolsheviks as Lenin radicalized everything prior and in the end his Soviet became Stalinized.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>So <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>now<\/em><\/span> appears <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Jussie Smollett<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>He is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not<\/em> <em>just<\/em><\/span> left-wing, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>but a rabid hater of Donald Trump<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">And he is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not just<\/em><\/span> black, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>but gay as well<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> And he is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not just<\/em><\/span> a victim, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>but a hyper-victim of white bullie<\/em><\/span>s. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">And <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not just<\/em><\/span> bullies, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>but bullies\u00a0with MAGA hats<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> And he is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not just<\/em><\/span> a victim of white red-hats, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>but a victim of ski-masked racists<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">And <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not just<\/em><\/span> of their blows, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>but of (frozen?) bleach<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> And <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not just<\/em><\/span> of bleach and blows, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>but of lynch rope as well<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">And they did <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not just<\/em><\/span> hit, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>but smeared and slurred<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> And <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not just<\/em><\/span> MAGA sloganeering, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>but anti-gay, anti-black<\/em><\/span>\u2014and perhaps, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>worst of all<\/em><\/span>, in our performance society, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>they slandered his \u201cEmpire\u201d TV show<\/em><\/span>!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Progressives are like a worn rope being pulling apart at both ends.<\/span> At one end, there is an effort to radicalize prior radicalization, <em>and on the other end <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">victimhood is heading toward parody<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>And what is left is the emblematic Jussie Smollett\u2014<em>the logical result of the revolution, who alone has staked out the only authentic and ultimate revolutionary stance<\/em>: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>nihilism<\/em><\/span>\u2014<em>a state where <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">no one can possibly rival Jussie\u2019s revolutionary grievance credentials<\/span> because <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">they cannot exist in a reality based world<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Or put another way, <em>when <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">no one is revolutionary enough<\/span><\/em>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>the revolutionary auditors end up ridiculous in their zeal for power and celebrity<\/em><\/span>\u2014sort of like Orwell\u2019s radical pigs finally prancing about on two legs and feasting on silver, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>sort of like Jussie Smollett leveraging the ultimate state of victimhood for a better deal on \u201cEmpire<\/em><\/span><i>.<\/i>\u201d<\/strong><\/span>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anyway you cut it, the inmates have taken over the asylum.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a our belief, everything else being equal, between now and November 2020, a majority of Americans in enough states agree it&#8217;s time they were back in their padded cells.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Next up, writing at <em>The New York Times<\/em>, Arthur Brooks demonstrates an amazing capacity to ignore reality while trying to bring biased balance to an almost (For a decade before that I made my living as a musician, but not the cool kind \u2014 I played in a symphony orchestra.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ygdjhk evys1bk0\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>But even a climatologist has to think about the weather when a hurricane comes ashore. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>And that\u2019s what\u2019s happening today<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Political differences are ripping our country apart<\/em><\/span>, swamping my big, fancy policy ideas.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Political scientists\u00a0have found\u00a0that our nation is more polarized\u00a0than it has been at any time since the Civil War.<\/span> One in six Americans has stopped talking to a family member or close friend because of the 2016 election. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Millions of people organize their social lives and their news exposure along ideological lines to avoid people with opposing viewpoints.<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>What\u2019s our problem<\/em><\/span>?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"css-1ygdjhk evys1bk0\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>A\u00a02014 article\u00a0in The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences on \u201cmotive attribution asymmetry\u201d \u2014 the assumption that your ideology is based in love, while your opponent\u2019s is based in hate \u2014 suggests an answer. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">The researchers found that the average Republican and the average Democrat today suffer from a level of motive attribution asymmetry that is comparable with that of Palestinians and Israelis.<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Each side thinks it is driven by benevolence, while the other is evil and motivated by hatred<\/em><\/span> \u2014 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>and is therefore an enemy with whom one cannot negotiate or compromise<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sorry, Mr. Brooks, but one side <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>is<\/em><\/span> evil <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>and<\/em><\/span> motivated by hatred; and it <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>ain&#8217;t Conservatives<\/em><\/span>!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Allow us to offer a brief history (by no means all-inclusive!) of the seminal events which began the nation&#8217;s descent into discord and have brought us to brink of civil war:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>(1). for tax collectors in France and many other global jurisdictions to maintain high rates on corporate income.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Last week Reuters\u00a0reported:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><em>The United States <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">supports France\u2019s call within the Group of Seven economic powers for a minimum level of corporate taxation<\/span>, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Wednesday after meeting with the French finance minister in Paris.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong><em>France has said it will use its G7 presidency this year to push for an agreement on a minimum level of corporate taxation.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">\u201cOn the minimum tax, that\u2019s something we <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">absolutely<\/span> support, that\u2019s something the U.S. just put into place with our tax reform,\u201d Mnuchin told reporters.<\/span>\u00a0<\/em><em>\u201cWe think it\u2019s very important, the concept of minimum taxes, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">and that there isn\u2019t a chase to the bottom on
