We lead off the TLJ birthday edition with a follow-up to an earlier item recording the latest act of corruption in the hopelessly misnamed Charm City, as the\u00a0Baltimore Sun<\/em>, one of the most biased rags in the history of jaundiced journalism, is forced to report…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Baltimore Mayor Pugh to take leave of absence in midst of ‘Healthy Holly’ book controversy<\/span><\/a><\/h1>\n

“Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh, facing a call by Gov.\u00a0Larry Hogan\u00a0for a criminal investigation into a book deal worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, announced Monday that she will take an indefinite leave of absence because of her health.<\/p>\n

The Democratic mayor\u2019s office issued a statement Monday saying she had been advised by her doctors<\/em><\/span> to take time to recover from a bout of pneumonia that hospitalized her for five days last week. \u201cWith the mayor\u2019s health deteriorating, she feels as though she is unable to fulfill her obligations as mayor of Baltimore city<\/em><\/span>,\u201d the statement read in part.<\/span> \u201cTo that end, Mayor Pugh will be taking an indefinite leave of absence to recuperate from this serious illness<\/em><\/span>.\u201d\u00a0(Editor’s note<\/span>:\u00a0And<\/span> see if the heat over her book deal dies down<\/span>!<\/em>)<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The statement did not address the scandal over the books…<\/p>\n

City Solicitor Andre Davis confirmed Pugh\u2019s leave will start at midnight and that the mayor will continue to be paid her $185,000 annual salary.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Council President Bernard C. \u201cJack\u201d Young, also a Democrat<\/em><\/span>, will take over temporarily as mayor.<\/span> Young said in an interview that he was \u201cheartbroken<\/em><\/span>\u201d by the mayor\u2019s deteriorating health and that his first aim was to ensure stability in the city he will now lead. \u201cPeople shouldn\u2019t notice any difference<\/em><\/span>,\u201d Young said<\/span><\/strong>…”<\/p>\n

Of THAT<\/span><\/em> we have NO DOUBT<\/em><\/span>!\u00a0 Baltimore hasn’t elected a Republican mayor since 1967, during which time one Dimocrat after another has done nothing but advance their own interests…as well as enrich themselves…at the expense of the city and its citizens.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Her rea<\/em>l<\/em><\/span> motivation notwithstanding, while Pugh only took a leave of absence, by electing the same kleptocrats again<\/em> and again<\/em><\/span>, residents of this increasingly charmless city have taken leave of their senses.\u00a0 We don’t refer to them as “Baltimorons” for nothing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our only question is how long it will take Kim Foxx…<\/strong><\/p>\n
