width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;We get up at 12:00 and start to work by 1:00, take an hour for lunch and then at 2:00 we&#8217;re done&#8221;&#8230;<em>jolly good fun<\/em> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>is right<\/em><\/span>!!!\u00a0 At least the residents of Emerald City technically\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>showed up<\/em><\/span> for work, albeit briefly.\u00a0 As part of The New Green Deal, Progressives would relieve less ambitious Americans of even <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>that<\/em><\/span>&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/D5A903E3614648AFB1C8F21DDB18A076.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-68943\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/D5A903E3614648AFB1C8F21DDB18A076.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"398\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/D5A903E3614648AFB1C8F21DDB18A076.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/D5A903E3614648AFB1C8F21DDB18A076-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/D5A903E3614648AFB1C8F21DDB18A076-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8230;overburdensome requirement for receiving the government&#8217;s tax-payer-funded largesse.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Now, here&#8217;s <em>The Gouge<\/em>!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>First up, since we&#8217;re on the subject of green flights of fancy, we&#8217;ll change up the order and lead off with today&#8217;s installment of the\u00a0<\/strong><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><em>EnvironMental Moment<\/em><\/span>, and two <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>must see<\/em><\/span> video clips of MIT-educated Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie calling out John Kerry for both his questionable scientific credentials <em>and<\/em> ignorance of global climate, its history and how and why it changes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5za7kNDyGfI?start=6240\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>If you thought Massie was good in that clip, he was just warming up; for, as Maggie O&#8217;Hooligan might have observed, you ain&#8217;t seen <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>nuttin<\/em><\/span>&#8216; yet.\u00a0 Watch as Kerry demonstrates Hell hath no fury like a pompous, self-important Progressive politician scorned:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5za7kNDyGfI?start=6917\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>John Kerry: he&#8217;s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>been everywhere<\/em><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>seen everything<\/em><\/span>!\u00a0 Note his reliance on computer model\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>predictions<\/em><\/span>&#8230;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>every single one<\/em><\/span> of which thus far has proved\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wattsupwiththat.com\/2019\/03\/30\/time-to-straighten-out-damage-from-the-big-lie-of-global-warming-starting-with-voltaires-admonition\/\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>utterly inaccurate<\/em><\/span><\/a>!\u00a0 As for Kerry himself, from climate change to North Korea, the Iran deal to illegal immigration, Rhah might well have been addressing Lurch directly to his face when he said&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7k2d5q1I468?start=8\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; text-decoration: underline;\">Beware simple, government-driven solutions to massive, knotty societal problems<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/header>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/1_-3mo6G3EUE8hhzTw6qp8BA.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-68872\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/1_-3mo6G3EUE8hhzTw6qp8BA.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/1_-3mo6G3EUE8hhzTw6qp8BA.png 400w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/1_-3mo6G3EUE8hhzTw6qp8BA-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/1_-3mo6G3EUE8hhzTw6qp8BA-300x300.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;&#8230;<span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Which is to say: The things that make people want to put czars in charge of complicated and intractable problems are also the things that make it a terrible idea to put czars in charge of complicated and intractable problems.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>If designing an apartment building is complex, then how much more complex is designing, say, a national system of regulating and subsidizing health-insurance companies, medical providers, employers, state governments, and \u2014 oh! \u2014 just about every one of the 327.2 million residents of this country from sea to shining sea, in a way that optimizes at least a few hundred major criteria that are in many cases either rivalrous or incompatible? <span style=\"color: #333399;\">How much more complicated than that is reorganizing more or less the entirety of human economic activity in simultaneous pursuit of environmental and social-justice goals involving competing factors so complex that the relationships among them are literally incomprehensible?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>The same bureaucracies and politician-dominated processes<\/em><\/span> we expect to ensure substantial justice for the entirety of the human race while optimizing the sum of human material life in accord with certain slippery and vaguely defined environmental goals <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>cannot figure out how to raise an apartment building in San Francisco<\/em><\/span> \u2014 which in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>reality<\/em><\/span> entails <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not<\/em><\/span> figuring out how to develop the needed housing but how to let <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>other people<\/em><\/span> who want to use their own money and energy to develop that housing <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>do so<\/em><\/span> \u2014\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2019\/03\/milwaukee-2020-democratic-convention-progressive-governance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">or how to run a high school in Milwaukee<\/a><\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">,<\/span> or how to ensure that all of the people on Death Row actually belong there.<\/strong> <\/span><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>The federal government cannot even say with any confidence how many programs it currently administers.<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fLROeAtNPjk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000; text-decoration: underline;\">Don\u2019t ask its auditors<\/span><\/a><\/em><\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fLROeAtNPjk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">where the money went<\/a><\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><em>All of the Instagram-ready chin-up posturing and declarations of moral urgency in the world <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">will not change<\/span> the facts of problems before us <\/em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>or render inoperative<\/em><\/span><em> Immanuel Kant\u2019s maxim that \u201c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ought<\/span>implies\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">can<\/span><\/em>.\u201d <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The adjectives \u201cambitious,\u201d \u201cinspiring,\u201d \u201caudacious,\u201d and \u201csweeping\u201d <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>should be met with dread by those who value boring things like reason, responsibility<\/em><\/span> \u2014 and\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>reality<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/strong>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>We pledge to publish any accurate assessment of a government program or policy which could not be far more effectively and efficiently delivered by a private, for-profit enterprise&#8230;subject of course to allowing us to retort.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Speaking of those in need of a cold, hard dose of reality, writing at his <em>Morning Jolt<\/em>, Jim Geraghty correctly concludes&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/the-morning-jolt\/we-have-bigger-problems-to-tackle-than-culture-war-politics\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The More Time You Spend on Culture-War Politics, The Less You Focus on Other Problems<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/reality-check.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-68883\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/reality-check.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"248\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/reality-check.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/reality-check-300x186.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>The\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2019\/04\/chick-fil-a-bans-unlawful\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2019\/04\/chick-fil-a-bans-unlawful\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1554903352867000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEWYUMWtHrqCXudNl5dB0YGUFuR8A\">editors observe<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span><em>\u00a0<\/em>that \u201cChick-fil-A faces explicit, official retaliation [by government agencies] <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not<\/span> for any incidents of discrimination in its stores<\/em>, <em>but rather for the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">constitutionally protected freedom of expression of its associated foundation<\/span>\u201d and declare it intolerable<\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal is\u00a0demanding that the IRS hand over six years of Donald Trump\u2019s tax returns, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>ostensibly<\/em><\/span> to prove that the Internal Revenue Service is properly auditing Trump\u2019s returns. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Many of us suspect the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>real aim<\/em><\/span> of demanding the returns is to overcome Trump\u2019s refusal to disclose them <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>and sniff through them, looking for embarrassing details<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Pete Buttigieg challenges Vice President Pence, \u201cIf you have a problem with who I am, your problem is not with me. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Your quarrel, sir, is with my creator.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/span>(Never mind that it\u2019s far from clear that Pence has a problem with who Buttigieg is.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>The country has <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>real problems<\/em><\/span>: opioid addiction, economic anxiety and insecurity, a long-term debt and unstable entitlement programs, a rising suicide rate, ensuring that every child and young person gets an education that prepares them for a changing economy. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">But at <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>this moment<\/em><\/span>, the single most popular thing that political leaders of either party can do is \u201cgo after\u201d figures and institutions associated with the other side<\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>We understand in that last sentence Geraghty&#8217;s trying to be fair, but there&#8217;s a reason the examples he cites of &#8220;leaders&#8221; of a particular political party going after &#8220;the figures and institutions associated with the other side&#8221; exclusively involve <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Progressives<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Here&#8217;s the juice: with the possible exception of The Donald, such actions are, for all practical purposes,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>always<\/em><\/span>\u00a0pulled from The Left&#8217;s playbook.\u00a0 And <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not even Trump<\/em><\/span>\u00a0has plumbed the depths of patent prevarication and character assassination which contemporary Progressives regularly reach.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/BUT-WAIT-THERES-MORE.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-68921\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/BUT-WAIT-THERES-MORE.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"179\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/BUT-WAIT-THERES-MORE.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/BUT-WAIT-THERES-MORE-300x134.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>More importantly, there&#8217;s a side to this demonization which seems to have eluded the Lowing Herd.\u00a0 Just as the Arabs, were they ultimately able to drive all of Israel into the sea, would find they&#8217;d just eliminated the catch-all excuse for problems of their own creation, should The Left successfully consign every last Conservative and Christian to concentration camps, they&#8217;d <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>still<\/em><\/span> be forced to confront an insoluble dilemma: with the supposed <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>source of every ill<\/em><\/span> in their world <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>now neutralized<\/em><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>who<\/em><\/span> will they <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>blame henceforth<\/em><\/span> for <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>the continued failure of their counterproductive methodologies and mismanagement<\/em><\/span>?!?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/download-7.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-68922\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/download-7.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/download-7.jpeg 400w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/download-7-300x180.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>You guessed it: because, like Creepy Uncle Joe (featured below), the votes of all the newly-enfranchised, recently-arrived illegal <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Hispanic<\/em><\/span> immigrants will have rendered\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>America&#8217;s Blacks<\/em><\/span> of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>no further importance to Progressive purposes<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In a related item again from <em>NRO<\/em>, Rich Lowry relates&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<header class=\"article-header article-header--full\" data-component=\"articleHeader\">\n<div class=\"article-header__inner\">\n<h1 class=\"article-header__title\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2019\/04\/chick-fil-a-protests-anti-christian-mccarthyite\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The McCarthyite, Anti-Christian Campaign against Chick-fil-A<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/h1>\n<h3 class=\"article-header__title\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2019\/04\/chick-fil-a-protests-anti-christian-mccarthyite\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600; text-decoration: underline;\">Critics detect a lingering stench of Christianity on Chick-fil-A&#8217;s tenders<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/header>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/AP-photo-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-68881\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/AP-photo-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"263\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/AP-photo-2.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/AP-photo-2-300x197.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span class=\"drop\">&#8220;<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>T<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>he fast-food chain Chick-fil-A <em>is wanted on suspicion of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">aiding and abetting Christian organizations<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>&#8230;<span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">The left-wing outfit\u00a0<em>ThinkProgress<\/em>\u00a0issued a report cited widely in the press and among Chick-fil-A opponents <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>accusing the company\u2019s foundation of \u201canti-equality\u201d giving<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> By which it means it donated to the Salvation Army and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (and a small Christian home for troubled young men in Vidalia, Ga.).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Needless to say, a lot of other people are guilty of the same offense, given that the Salvation Army raises about $2 billion a year.<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>To consider all that the Salvation Army does<\/em><\/span> \u2014 its thrift shops, aid for the homeless, disaster relief, anti-trafficking programs, Christmas gifts to needy children, and much, much more \u2014 <em>and reduce the organization to an allegedly anti-LGBT group is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">perverse<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>For its part, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes stands accused of seeking \u201cto spread an anti-LGBTQ message to college athletes.\u201d <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">It\u2019s true that FCA asks its leaders to forswear homosexual acts, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>but it also wants them to pledge not to engage in heterosexual acts outside of marriage and, for that matter, refuse to use drugs, alcohol, or tobacco<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>According to Chick-fil-A, its donation to FCA supported sports camps and school programs for inner-city kids \u2014 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not exactly controversial causes<\/em><\/span>. A<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">nd its gift to the Salvation Army went to youth camps and Christmas presents for thousands of Atlanta kids.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>The latest campaign against Chick-fil-A is based on the idea that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>it is impermissible for it to associate with any group with a traditional Christian understanding of sex and marriage, for any purpose whatsoever, no matter how unobjectionable or noble<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Any public official joining the punitive campaign against Chick-fil-A <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>needs a remedial lesson in the Constitution<\/em><\/span>, which <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>forbids discrimination against private companies on the basis of political or religious viewpoint<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> It is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>the enemies<\/em><\/span> of Chick-fil-A <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>who are intolerant and out-of-the-mainstream<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">They desperately need to abandon their tawdry McCarthyite crusade and \u201cEat Mor Chikin.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Then again, if Progressives were to abandon <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>every unconstitutional platform<\/em><\/span> they supported, they&#8217;d have <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>nothing on which to run<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And not to beat a dead White guy, but Kurt Schlichter&#8217;s requiem for a certain presidential campaign dead in the starting gate is worth perusing:<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"headline\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/columnists\/kurtschlichter\/2019\/04\/08\/joe-biden-needs-a-hug-n2544377\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600; text-decoration: underline;\">Joe Biden Needs A Hug<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/cb040519dAPR20190406124507.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-68871\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/cb040519dAPR20190406124507.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"302\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/cb040519dAPR20190406124507.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/cb040519dAPR20190406124507-300x227.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;It\u2019s pretty obvious to everyone who isn\u2019t Joe Biden that Joe Biden\u2019s quest for the White House is a dead campaign fondling&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;Word on the street is that it\u2019s the Bernie Bros behind the knife in the kidney that is the daily drip-drip-drip of women recounting Biden\u2019s various creeperies. who might be suckered by the Vermont Marxist\u2019s funny old guy act. <span style=\"color: #800080;\">Bernie Sanders is a communist, and <span style=\"text-decoration: himself in what is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>certain<\/em><\/span> to be a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>vain effort<\/em><\/span> to ensure his campaign doesn\u2019t die before it is born.<\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Watching a grown man set fire to his dignity by sucking up to these aspiring fascists is mortifying \u2013 it turns a delightful bit of\u00a0<em>schadenfreude<\/em>\u00a0into something sad.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Biden\u2019s cringey behavior is something we conservatives have laughed about for years <em>and the media only suddenly discovered <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">when Joe stopped being useful and got in the way<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> Biden\u2019s pawing is sort of the counterpoint of John McCain\u2019s conservative bashing.<\/strong> <\/span>The mainstream media saw no evil when Touchy Toucherman was feeling up every skirt within his bursting radius, just like it loved Johnny Maverick when he was giving what-for to those wicked Rethuglicans. <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>But the MSM turned on a dime and bared its collective fangs when these two dared get in the way of progress, be it McCain taking on (sort of) Obama or Joe lib-blocking Bernie, Beto, Brown\u2019s ex, or Mayor Buttawhatever.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>It\u2019s important to remember that any Democrat pushing the #MeToo agenda is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>full of Schiff<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #800080;\">The party of Chappaquiddick Teddy and Bill \u201cPut Some Ice On That\u201d Clinton <em>views the protection of women <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not as a moral imperative<\/span> but <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">as an intermittently useful pose<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>And it\u2019s a pose they don\u2019t bother to strike unless there is something in it for them<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #800080;\">That\u2019s why ancient tales about Brett Kavanaugh dominated the headlines and why you now have to think real hard to remember the name of that Virginia Lieutenant Governor, who remains in office alongside the guy who still can\u2019t tell us for sure if he was the dude in blackface or the dude in the Klan get-up.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>It\u2019s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>baloney<\/em><\/span>, and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>everyone<\/em><em> knows it<\/em><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>including<\/em><\/span> Biden, who has <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>got<\/em><\/span> to be wondering <span
