width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Now, here&#8217;s <em>The Gouge<\/em>!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>First up, proving once again, like a broken clock, even Progressives are correct on occasion, Julian Castro accurately assesses the El Paso Walmart shooting:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;<span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Look, there&#8217;s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>one person<\/em><\/span> that&#8217;s responsible directly for that shooting in El Paso. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>And that&#8217;s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the shooter<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Everything else is pure politics, including this utterly absurd tweet from an educated idiot whose hatred for The Donald further erodes his credibility and judgment every passing day:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/tribalism.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-71988\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/tribalism.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"204\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/tribalism.png 450w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/tribalism-300x136.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Meanwhile, after calling the shooting an &#8220;act of barbarism, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/mexico-vows-take-legal-action-against-u-s-wake-deadly-n1039096\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard demanded the American government ensure &#8220;conditions are established that protect Mexicans in the United States<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/a>&#8220;&#8230;w<\/strong><strong>hich takes some real cajones, since <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Mexico itself<\/em><\/span> can&#8217;t protect Mexican citizens&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/nl.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-71999\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/nl.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"263\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/nl.png 400w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/nl-300x197.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"endmarkEnabled\"><strong>&#8230;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>IN MEXICO<\/em><\/span>!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>More importantly, based on Patrick Crusius&#8217;s own manifesto (and contrary to the purely hate-crime storyline being peddled by Progressives and their MSM shills), the shootings were motivated by a\u00a0<\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.paypervids.com\/alleged-el-paso-texas-walmart-shooter-manifesto\/\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>number of factors<\/em><\/span><\/a>, frustration with political and corporate support for open borders and a demented desire to incentive Hispanics to leave the country among them.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>On the other hand, the\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>motive behind the Dayton, OH murders remains rather murky<\/em><\/span>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;&#8230;<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Dayton police Chief Richard Biehl told reporters in a news conference on Sunday afternoon that the gunman, identified as 24-year-old Connor Betts, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>showed up to the city&#8217;s Oregon District around Fifth Street with his sister and a friend on Saturday night<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">He added <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>the three separated at some point between when they arrived and when Betts opened fire<\/em><\/span>, saying it is unknown what happened during that time.&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Biehl said <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>police officers in the area engaged him seconds after the first gunshots were heard and the gunman was &#8220;neutralized&#8221; within 30 seconds after the first of &#8220;dozens\u00a0of rounds<\/em><\/span>.&#8221;<\/strong><\/span>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>\u201cThere\u2019s nothing in this individual\u2019s history or record that would have precluded him from purchasing that firearm,\u201d Biehl said.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Biehl told reporters Betts had two guns with him, adding that a shotgun was\u00a0left in the vehicle at the time of the shooting<\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>So many questions come to mind, among them:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>(1). Were Betts&#8217;s sister and her boyfriend the intended targets, and rest of the victims collateral damage, or was his anger being directed against the whole nightclub scene, including what would have been his apostate sister?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>(2). Could the shooter&#8217;s sister and her boyfriend, who rode with him to the scene, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>really<\/em><\/span> have been blissfully unaware of the hardware he was transporting, let alone his intentions?\u00a0 Over the course of our 63 years, we&#8217;ve become acquainted with certain people, including one very close relative, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>closely enough to know they harbored some pretty crazy ideas<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0 Crazy enough to shoot up a nightclub district, along with a sister and her boyfriend?\u00a0 Maybe, maybe not.\u00a0 But traveling to one with three weapons and a bullet-proof vest at 0100 might have provided a clue.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>(3). You also need \u2014 fun fact here \u2014 the Senate to agree to take up the impeachment in the first place. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Hence the odds of removing Trump from office before the 2020 presidential election would still be zero even if Mueller had given an Oscar-worthy performance.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">None of this speaks to the underlying question of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>whether<\/em><\/span> Trump <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>should<\/em><\/span> be impeached.<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Reasonable people can disagree on that<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Really<\/em><\/span>?!?\u00a0 Actually, Jonah, &#8220;reasonable&#8221; people <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>can&#8217;t disagree<\/em><\/span> on that, because anyone who holds Trump <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>should<\/em><\/span>\u00a0be impeached sans legitimate charges of having actually committed high crimes and\/or misdemeanors <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>isn&#8217;t<\/em> <em>being reasonable<\/em><\/span>, they&#8217;re <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>playing politics<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0 And unless you&#8217;re privy to Adam Schiff&#8217;s &#8220;proof&#8221; of Trump&#8217;s collusion&#8230;&#8221;proof&#8221; which he&#8217;s curiously yet to produce&#8230;we&#8217;d appreciate YOU specifying the charges for which Trump <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>should<\/em><\/span> be impeached.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Perhaps followed by something&#8230;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>anything<\/em><\/span>&#8230;Trump has <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>actually ever said or done<\/em><\/span> which was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>racist<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0 Not something he said which <em>#NeverTrump<\/em>ers or the MSM <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>deliberately misquoted or misinterpreted<\/em><\/span> to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>appear<\/em><\/span> racist: something&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>over nearly three decades<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>In <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>addition<\/em><\/span> to its three-year pay-out to Simon, the university will provide<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/07\/30\/us\/michigan-state-president-retirement-deal.html\" underline;\">not convicted<\/span><\/em>).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Simon served as president of MSU from 2005 to 2018, receiving<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/msu.edu\/past-presidents\/simon\/land-grant-leadership.html\">accolades<\/a><\/em><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>as she grew the institution\u2019s funding and enrollment<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Simon\u2019s being oblivious<\/em><\/span> (or turning a blind eye) <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>to an egregious pattern of criminal abuse during the entirety of her tenure has apparently been judged no reason for her to lose access to football tickets or top-flight dental coverage<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>And, make no mistake, <em>the behavior that unfolded on Simon\u2019s watch <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">was egregious<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The question <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>isn&#8217;t<\/em><em> why<\/em><em> Simon&#8217;s getting <\/em><em>$2.4M<\/em><\/span>, but rather\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>why she&#8217;s getting<\/em> <em>a penny<\/em><\/span>&#8230;not to mention <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not<\/em><\/span>\u00a0facing\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>significant time in prison<\/em><\/span>?!?\u00a0 Make no mistake about it: this is politically-correct Progressivism\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>at its finest<\/em><\/span>&#8230;er,&#8230;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>worst<\/em><\/span>!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Speaking of politically-correct programs&#8230;who were given a list of 1,500 specific words which would be part of the final quiz&#8230;which would involve only 40 students from just 15 states&#8230;and after thirteen rounds, though the &#8220;competition was gettin stiff&#8221;, and despite the fact the organizers supposedly &#8220;would&#8217;ve kept going if we could, but we were getting dirty looks from hotel staff who needed to prep the room for the next event&#8221;, they &#8220;decided to get creative&#8221; and &#8220;awarded first prize[s] to the nine spellers still on the stage&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In other words, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>everybody<\/em><\/span> gets a trophy.\u00a0 Gee&#8230;any question had the competition been opened to the sons and daughters of Asian and Indian immigrants to America the best Pablo could have hoped for was a tie&#8230;particularly had his non-Hispanic opponents been given a list from which to study&#8230;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>and<\/em><\/span> the contest run to a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>final conclusion<\/em><\/span>?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sorry, but, as our old friend, Naval Academy classmate and contributor George Lawlor wondered, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>what&#8217;s next<\/em><\/span>: a Black-only Ebonics spelling bee; a Chinese-only logograms identification contest; perhaps a Navaho-only Windtalkers tournament?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And what, pray tell, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>possible good<\/em><\/span> does it do for Pablo to correctly spell <em>SPANISH<\/em> words
