Wow, Erin&#8217;s an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>anchor<\/em><\/span>&#8230;on <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>CNN<\/em><\/span>&#8230;just like <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Fredo Cuomo<\/em><\/span>!\u00a0 <em>CNN<\/em> anchors <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>sure are impressed<\/em><\/span> they&#8217;re working for a network <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>practically nobody watches anymore<\/em><\/span>, and a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>significant portion<\/em><\/span> of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>those who still do<\/em><\/span> are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>in airports<\/em><\/span>, where <em>CNN<\/em>&#8216;s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>all that&#8217;s aired<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>(2). We echo the thoughts of Bill Meisen, who wrote us offering&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Some fun facts for the history revisionists on The Left<\/em><\/span>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><strong>1882 &#8211; First federal public charge rule written stating, &#8220;Any person unable to take care of himself (wretched misogynists!!!) without becoming a public charge&#8221; would not be admitted to the United States.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><strong>1883 &#8211; Emma Lazarus, with no authority whatsoever to speak for America of influence federal immigration law, pens <em>The New Colossus<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><strong>1885 &#8211; The Statue of Liberty arrives in New York.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><strong>1903 &#8211; The Lazarus poem is cast on a plaque and placed on the Statue pedestal.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><strong>1903 &#8211; The federal government expands the elements of public charge.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><strong>1930&#8217;s &#8211; The modern Welfare State is initiated in response to The Great Depression.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>To assert a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>statue<\/em><\/span>, however grand, and a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>plaque<\/em><\/span>, however poignant, somehow represent an invitation to &#8220;poor, huddled masses&#8221; to enter America, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>then<\/em><\/span> entitle them to free government handouts <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>which wouldn&#8217;t be created for another 50 years<\/em><\/span> is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff0000;\"><em>ludicrous<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Claiming an almost-140-year-old poem <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>somehow supersedes present-day U.S. immigration policy<\/em> <span style=\"color: #ff0000; text-decoration: underline;\"><em>isn&#8217;t<\/em><\/span><\/span> just <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff0000;\"><em>ludicrous<\/em><\/span>, it&#8217;s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #ff0000;\"><em>willfully ignorant<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Then again, overarching egos combined with a bent towards being willfully&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4WMErc1n6Ks?start=115&amp;end=116&amp;\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8230;forms the basis of every policy Progressives promote, from their support of the utterly unworkable Green New Deal to their opposition to voter ID requirements (as detailed in today&#8217;s installment of our <em>On The Lighter Side<\/em> video, accessible through link #4 immediately below our <em>Quote of the Day<\/em> at the top of the page).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Since we&#8217;re on the subject of overarching egos overcoming reality, writing at <em>Townhall.com<\/em>, Beth Baumann details how Stacey Abrams is posing a question nobody cares to answer:<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"headline\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/tipsheet\/bethbaumann\/2019\/08\/14\/stacey-abrams-hey-any-2020-dems-want-me-to-be-their-vp-n2551719\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800000; running mate. <span style=\"color: #008000;\">(<em>Provided they offer a generous meal allowance!<\/em>)<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #333399;\">She made that very clear during a recent interview with the\u00a0<em>New York Times<\/em><\/span><em><span style=\"color: #333399;\">.<\/span>\u00a0<\/em>Apparently she decided not to run for president but she&#8217;s leaving the possibilities of being vice president open.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;I would be honored to be considered by any nominee,&#8221; Abrams told the\u00a0<em>Times<\/em>. &#8220;But my responsibility is to focus on the primary. <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>And <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>that<\/em><\/span> means using the primary as an opportunity to build the apparatus <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>to fight voter suppression<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Because in the end, no matter where I fit <span style=\"color: #008000;\">(<em>which <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ain&#8217;t<\/span> inside an MRI!<\/em>)<\/span>, no matter <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>which<\/em><\/span> ones of our nominees <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>win<\/em><\/span>, if we <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>haven\u2019t fought this scourge<\/em><\/span>, if we <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>haven\u2019t pushed back against Moscow Mitch and his determination to block any legislation that would cure our voting machines<\/em><\/span>, then we are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>all<\/em><\/span> in a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>world of trouble<\/em><\/span>.&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>She <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>did<\/em><\/span>, however, have a litmus test for the nominees.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">&#8220;I asked two things with all the presidential nominees I\u2019ve met with,&#8221; she explained.<\/span> &#8220;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>One<\/em><\/span> is that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>they<\/em><\/span> make voter suppression <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>their<\/em><\/span> number one issue. And <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>two<\/em><\/span>, that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>they<\/em><\/span> make <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Georgia<\/em><\/span> a top priority because <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>it<\/em><\/span> is a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>battleground state<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Then<\/em><\/span> Abrams added a <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>ramming a truck into a crowd celebrating Bastille Day in France<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">In 2001, Muslim terrorists <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>killed 2,977 people<\/em><\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>injured 6,000 more<\/em><\/span>, by <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">using box cutters to hijack airplanes and fly them into buildings<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Guns<\/em><\/span> are a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>tool<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">There are a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>whole lot<\/em><\/span> of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>other<\/em><\/span> devastating ways to <span style=\"text-decoration: more deadly means of mass murder<\/em><\/span> commonly available, are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Progressives<\/em><\/span> focused on <span style=\"text-decoration: concludes&#8230;<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Mass murder <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>isn\u2019t caused<\/em><\/span> by the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>tools you use<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>The Nazis were not inspired to kill Jews by the invention of Zyklon B<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>The Japanese did not decide to kill hundreds of thousands of Chinese civilians because of the availability of airplanes<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>The Soviet Communists did not commit their acts of mass murder because their arms stockpiles didn\u2019t need a waiting period to obtain machine guns for their mass shootings<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #008000;\">(<em>Hells bells, like the Turks&#8217; Armenian genocide,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Stalin<\/span> slaughtered <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">millions of Kulaks<\/span> through <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">simple starvation<\/span>!<\/em>)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Murder <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>is not<\/em><\/span> a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>technical problem<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">It\u2019s a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>moral problem<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> It <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>happens<\/em><\/span> because of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>internal decisions made in the mind<\/em><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not external tools<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>tools<\/em><\/span> are used to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>implement the decisions of the mind<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><em><strong>A society with mass murder <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">is experiencing a moral problem<\/span><\/strong><\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8230;&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>All of which faces Progressives with <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>two intractable conflicts<\/em><\/span>: (1) <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Their<\/em><\/span> gun control measures <em><span
