underline;\"><em>three victims were juveniles<\/em><\/span> and three victims were adults.<\/strong><\/span> They were taken to different hospitals in the area. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Two victims are in critical condition<\/em><\/span>, three suffered minor injuries and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>one person was seriously injured<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;<strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">According to police, the shooter, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>who is believed to be a juvenile<\/em><\/span>, began shooting just north of the intersection of West Maryland and North Illinois Street before fleeing the scene.<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>Police say they are working with witnesses and victims to figure out what led up to the shooting and to identify a suspect.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>A surveillance image<\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>(<em>shown above<\/em>)<\/strong><\/span> <strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">of a person of interest in the case was released Sunday morning.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #800080;\">Authorities are asking the public for help in identifying the male subject.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">He is described as wearing a dark colored sweatshirt with light stripes on the sleeves and dark jeans<\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here&#8217;s a hint: it&#8217;s based upon the respective races of the mass-shooter and victims, as well as the type of weapon employed in a given massacre.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>To wit: if the shooter is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>White<\/em><\/span>, and the weapon of choice is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>any variant<\/em><\/span> of the mythical &#8220;assault weapon&#8221;, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>no matter<\/em><\/span> the race of the victims, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>the massacre is guaranteed to be front page news for weeks and elicit countless calls to ban or confiscate said &#8220;assault weapons<\/em><\/span>&#8220;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>But if the shooter <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>and<\/em><\/span> victims are\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Black<\/em><\/span>&#8230;an aspect of the crime which is NEVER covered in contemporary news reports&#8230;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>and<\/em><\/span> the weapon employed is an illegal semi-automatic handgun, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>it&#8217;s just another day in urban America<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sooo&#8230;tell us again how Progressive politicians have the backs of their Black constituents?!?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>As for Beto&#8217;s claim certain Arkansans are willing to surrender their unneeded, unwanted AR-15s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>merely upon his request<\/em><\/span>, this meme forwarded by Ed Hickey represents the reception his confiscation scheme would likely receive from every 2nd Amendment-loving Razorback&#8230;or any other elsewhere in America:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a rank-and-file law enforcement official in the country would be willing to enforce such an unconstitutional edict, let alone support it.\u00a0 So <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>have at it<\/em><\/span>, Beto&#8230;but\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>you<\/em><\/span><em> go in <\/em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>first<\/em><\/span>!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Since we&#8217;re on the subject of Dimocratic disdain for the rule of law, imagine our surprise when, having just watched one of our all-time favorite movies for the umpteenth time, we opened Rich Terrell&#8217;s cartoon d&#8217;jour and discovered he, too, is a fan of <em>A Man for All Seasons<\/em>, along with its exposure of the reading <em>Citizens<\/em>, a rather detailed account of the French Revolution and the Reign of Terror which inevitably followed.\u00a0 The parallels between the fact-less denouncements which led to the executions of tens of thousands whose only crime was either a careless remark about <em>La Patrie<\/em>\u00a0or a letter written years before containing words which were now considered anti-<em>La Patrie,\u00a0<\/em>and the contemporary consequences of some decades-removed act of political-incorrectness rather disturbing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Impossible as it might have seemed only a decade ago (i.e., B.O., <em>aka<\/em>, Before Obama), utterance of a banned word or improper gender reference today, whether deliberate or absent malice, can cost the speaker their job.\u00a0 How long before the\u00a0<em>sans culottes<\/em>\u00a0of the Hard Left&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/antifa-protest-644x429.jpg\"><img fail to recognize either the realities of human nature or what Hannah Arendt termed &#8220;the banality of human evil&#8221; fail to see the authoritarian forest for the totalitarian avoidable mass murder in American history<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> And last week, Governor Gavin Newsom just forced into every school in California the policies that made it inevitable.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The Parkland shooter was a known-wolf. Before the massacre was over, students knew who did it. He was considered so dangerous when he attended Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that school administrators banned him from bringing a backpack and\u00a0frisked him\u00a0every day for fear that he\u2019d bring a deadly weapon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Even though security staff brought him to the principal\u2019s office <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>all the time<\/em><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>his disciplinary record looked pretty clean on paper<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>If<\/em> <\/span>he had been arrested at school for his crimes, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>maybe<\/em><\/span> the FBI could have followed through on tips that he would shoot up the school.<\/span> And <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>if<\/em><\/span>\u00a0he\u2019d been disciplined for his sub-criminal misbehavior, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>maybe<\/em><\/span> school administrators could have made a strong case for sending him back to a specialized school for disturbed students, where he so badly needed to be.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>But<\/em><\/span> the Broward County school district had embarked on a quest to fight the \u201cschool-to-prison pipeline\u201d by lowering suspensions, expulsions, and arrests.<\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>And<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sun-sentinel.com\/local\/broward\/parkland\/florida-school-shooting\/fl-florida-school-shooting-discipline-20180510-story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">school principals responded<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>systematically sweeping disturbing behavior under the rug<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong> <strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>one individual<\/em><em> in the Broward school district<\/em><\/span> made <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>one responsible decision about the killer<\/em><\/span>, the tragedy <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>could have been averted<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> But you can\u2019t even call what happened a \u201cfailure,\u201d <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>because each obviously irresponsible decision makes perfect sense given the policies<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>The state of California has just lurched <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>far harder<\/em><\/span> on leniency <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>than Broward<\/em><\/span>, by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>banning suspensions and expulsions for nonviolent offenses<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><em>Don\u2019t you <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">dare<\/span> think that in practice this leniency won\u2019t extend to violence, though<\/em><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;For evidence, look no further than Los Angeles. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>As the school board <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>banned suspensions<\/em><\/span>,<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.laprogressive.com\/student-police-referrals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"broken_link\">referrals to law enforcement<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>increased 145 percent<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>And last year, threats of<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/news\/local\/Campus-Threats-Arrests-Increase-During-2017-2018-La-School-Year-486985361.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">violence in Los Angeles schools<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>increased by 70 percent<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>I sent my daughter to public school <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>thinking she was safe<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">I had <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>no idea<\/em><\/span> there was a kid there so dangerous that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>they frisked him every day<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> I had <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>no idea<\/em><\/span> that the school <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>was systematically covering up threats and violence<\/em><\/span>.<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>I didn\u2019t know<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>I can\u2019t let any other parent make that excuse<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong> <\/span>That\u2019s why I wrote a book to tell the true story of Parkland. I don\u2019t expect that this article or that book, or that anything, really, will convince the Democratic politicians who run California to think twice about this terrible mistake. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>My whole life\u2019s mission now is to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>inform parents<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Chances are, your kid <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>won\u2019t<\/em><\/span> get murdered at school. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>But you have to know about the type of environment you\u2019re putting your child in<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <em>Public school in California is now a place where disruption, threats, and even violence <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">can\u2019t even be punished<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>My advice to California parents: <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Stretch your wallet<\/span> to send them to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">private school<\/span><\/em>. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Or <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>keep them<\/em><\/span> in public school <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>and roll the dice<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Like the backers of abortion, there&#8217;s surely a special place in Hell for those who would play politics with the lives of schoolchildren.\u00a0 And no, support for the right to bear arms isn&#8217;t playing politics; put another way, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>fracking<\/em><\/span> has helped the United States to what climate activists <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>ought<\/em><\/span> to consider <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>one of its greatest environmental victories<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">When the United States intensified its attention to the Middle East in the wake of the 9\/11 attacks, the country was heavily dependent on petroleum imports. <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Today, the United States is the world\u2019s largest exporter of petroleum \u2014 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>thanks to fracking<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong> <\/span><span style=\"color: #003300;\"><strong>The pointy-headed guys in the Washington war rooms <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>spend a lot less time worrying about whether tankers can get through the Strait of Hormuz these days<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #008000;\">And that means the United States <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>has a much more free hand<\/em><\/span> \u2014 and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>more realistic options<\/em><\/span> \u2014 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>when dealing with Riyadh, Tehran, or any of the other pits of vipers that pass for national capitals in that part of the world<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #003300;\"><strong>\u201cNo war for oil!\u201d they chanted when George W. Bush\u2019s administration prepared to invade Iraq. It was always a stupid slogan \u2014 if we\u2019d wanted to get our hands on that Iraqi oil, we could simply have bought it at a discount rather than pay a horrifying blood premium for it \u2014 <em>but now that chant can reasonably be turned back on its authors: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">If you want less war, then you should want a lot more fracking<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fat chance: the EnviroNazi Luddites can&#8217;t even bring themselves to recognize the carbon-free, renewable nature of nuclear power, let alone the amazing strides in design and safety nuclear plants have made since the non-event of Three-Mile Island and even Fukushima.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Which brings us
