What Trump critics see as his erratic decision-making, his lack of experience, and his character are all a larger part of that story. <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>But so too are those <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>unfaithful servants in the executive branch<\/em><\/span> who have sought to accomplish <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>their own private agendas<\/em><\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>put those ahead of the president\u2019<\/em><em>s<\/em><\/span>.<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> So too has Congress disfigured the presidential office by kicking over so many responsibilities to the executive branch.<\/span> But one good thing about Haley\u2019s sudden presence is her reminder that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>the presidency is bigger than Trump<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">And it needs to be <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>in working order<\/em><\/span> for the succession of people \u2014 Democratic, Republican, and others \u2014 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>who will occupy it in the future<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>As MBD points out, and the illustration above indicates, Haley has a vested interest in pointing both ways.\u00a0 Still, we recall Tillerson was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>never in synch<\/em><\/span> with <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>his President&#8217;s<\/em><\/span> policies, leading us to give Nikki the benefit of the doubt&#8230;for now.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In a related item at <em>Best of the Web<\/em>, Jim Freeman observes how Progressives are playing&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"wsj-article-headline\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/anonymity-games-11573606545\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000; text-decoration: underline;\">Anonymity Games<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/h1>\n<h3 class=\"sub-head\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/anonymity-games-11573606545\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\">Rarely has so much been demanded of so many by so few unidentified sources<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/download-3.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-74793\" style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>seeking to overturn the results of an election in which more than 120 million Americans identified themselves and then voted<\/em><\/span> is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>still insisting on anonymity<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">But a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>second anonymous fe<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>deral employee<\/em><\/span> is now <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>blowing the whistle on the first one<\/em><\/span>, alleging a problem with anonymous donations.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Another fundraising effort, which does not appear to be related, is the anonymous publication of a book critical of the President and purportedly written by a senior government official.<\/strong> <\/span>\u201cWhite House laughs off Anonymous book as old news\u201d is the headline on a Politicostory\u00a0by Daniel Lippman. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>According to Mr. Lippman, there is some debate within Team Trump about whether the author is remaining anonymous <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>due to a lack of courage<\/em><\/span> or <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>an abundance of marketing savvy<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Speaking of raising funds, a participant in the 2016 presidential election is also on a book tour, and is sending a message from overseas.<\/strong><\/span> Judy Kurtz\u00a0reports\u00a0in The Hill:<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><em>\u201cI will certainly tell you, I\u2019m under <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">enormous pressure<\/span> from <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">many, many, many people<\/span> to think about it,\u201d the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee continued.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cI feel a sense of responsibility partly because, you know, my name was on the ballot, I got more votes, but ended up losing to the current incumbent in the White House who I think is really undermining our democracy in very fundamental ways,\u201d Clinton said.<\/span> \u201cAnd I want to retire him.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>It remains unclear at this writing whether the \u201cmany, many people\u201d <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>allegedly<\/em><\/span> urging Mrs. Clinton to consider a run <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>are also requesting anonymity<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Seeking both attention <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>and<\/em><\/span> anonymity seems to be the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>political fad of the year<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> Perhaps <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>next year<\/em><\/span> people will consider <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>modesty and accountability<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Only if, between now and then, every Progressive politician and activist is magically transported to the surface of Mars.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In the meantime, we trust Hillary&#8217;s word about as much as that of another famed liar before her:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe
