“Matthew Dowd, chief political analyst for ABC News, suggested that Representative Elise Stefanik (R., N.Y.) was elected due to her gender after taking issue with Stefanik\u2019s line of questioning during the first public impeachment hearing on Wednesday<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cElise Stefanik is a perfect example of why just electing someone because they are a woman or a millennial doesn\u2019t necessarily get you the leaders we need,\u201d Dowd tweeted of Stefanik \u2014 the youngest<\/em><\/span> Republican woman ever elected to Congress<\/em><\/span><\/strong> \u2014 who on Wednesday was named a member of\u00a0Time\u2019s\u00a0<\/em>\u201c100 Next\u201d rising profiles.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

After criticism<\/span><\/em>, Dowd deleted<\/em><\/span> the tweet, and claimed that he was misunderstood<\/em><\/span> for \u201cjust saying we need more millennials or more women [which] isn\u2019t going to solve the problem of needing more leaders with integrity<\/em><\/span>.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

One would expect<\/em><\/span> the position of “Chief Political Analyst” for a major network news organization to be occupied by the most insightful person available<\/em><\/span>, i.e., someone who wouldn’t<\/em><\/span> require OJT<\/em><\/span>…be learning<\/em><\/span> lessons as they went<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0 Dowd’s primary<\/em><\/span> qualification for employment appears<\/em><\/span> to be he’s the most partisan person<\/span> ABC could find<\/span><\/em>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
