<em>organizations when the prior sentence mentions <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">three<\/span>!<\/em>)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>\u201cThere\u2019s no question we know that, as we go into new markets, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>we need to be clear about who we are<\/em><\/span>,\u201d Chick-fil-A President and Chief Operating Officer Tim Tassopoulos\u00a0told\u00a0Bisnow. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">\u201cThere are lots of articles and newscasts about Chick-fil-A, and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>we thought we needed to be clear about our message<\/em><\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>\u201cWhen there is a tension, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>we want to make sure we\u2019re being clear<\/em><\/span>. We think this is going to be helpful,\u201d Tassopoulos continued. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">\u201cIt\u2019s just the right thing to do: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>to be clear<\/em><\/span>, caring, and supportive and do it in the community.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Very,<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em> VERY<\/em><\/span> disappointing.\u00a0 Since Chick-fil-A&#8217;s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>supposedl<\/em><\/span>y interested in <em>u<\/em>, why not <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>make clear<\/em><\/span>\u00a0their position is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>simply in keeping with that directed by<\/em> <em>GOD ALMIGHTY<\/em><\/span> in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>HIS HOLY SCRIPTURES<\/em><\/span>?!?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Consider this <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>manifestly\u00a0<\/em><em>misleading<\/em><\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>idiotically\u00a0<\/em><em>incorrect<\/em><\/span> headline from <em>Bisnow.com<\/em>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bisnow.com\/national\/news\/retail\/exclusive-amid-global-expansion-and-lgbt-pushback-chick-fil-a-changes-charitable-giving-structure-101818\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #333399; but this certainly gives us reason to do <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>avoid<\/em><\/span> their fast food <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>completely<\/em><\/span> in the <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">future<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And if Tim Tassopoulos think&#8217;s his craven capitulation <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>will end<\/em><\/span> The Left\u2019s demands, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/news\/glaad-commends-chick-fil-a-for-dropping-donations-to-christian-groups-but-demands-franchise-change-anti-lgbtq-brand\/\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>the reaction from GLAAD<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/a> should serve to disabuse him of the notion:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;<span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>On Monday, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>commended<\/em><\/span> Chick-fil-A for its decision to halt donations to several Christian charities but <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>demanded the fast-food chain do more<\/em><\/span> to change its \u201canti-LGBTQ\u201d brand.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>GLAAD said it \u201cgreet[s] today\u2019s announcement with cautious optimism\u201d but <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>warned<\/em><\/span> that the Georgia-based\u00a0company <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>still has work to do<\/em><\/span> to fix its tarnished image with the LGBTQ community.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>\u201c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>In addition to<\/em> <em>refraining from financially supporting anti-LGBTQ organizations<\/em><\/span>, Chick-fil-A <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>still lacks policies to ensure safe workplaces for LGBTQ employees<\/em><\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>should unequivocally speak out against the anti-LGBTQ reputation that their brand represents<\/em><\/span>,\u201d GLAAD director of campaigns Drew Anderson\u00a0said\u00a0in a statement to CNN<\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rumors Chick-fil-A will attempt to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>further kowtow<\/em><\/span> to the radical LGBTQ<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>RSTUVWXYZ<\/em><\/span> lobby by offering a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>new<\/em><\/span> sandwich to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>celebrate<\/em><\/span> homosexual marriage <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>and<\/em><\/span> serving it on <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Sunday<\/em><\/span>&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Untitled-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-74987\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Untitled-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"323\" height=\"237\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Untitled-1.png 323w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Untitled-1-300x220.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 323px) 100vw, 323px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8230;could not be confirmed at press time&#8230;but we can easily see it happening.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In a related item from the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>Entertainment Section<\/em><\/span>, we learn of yet another example of Progressives crying &#8220;Bias!&#8221; \u201caccountable capitalism,\u201d <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>politicians right and left who want politicians to have more power over private economic decisions assume a dilemma in which something called \u201ccapitalism\u201d must be balanced against or made subordinate to something called the \u201ccommon good<\/em><\/span>.\u201d<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>This<\/em><\/span> is the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>great forgetful stupidity of our time<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Capitalism<\/em><\/span> is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not<\/em><\/span> a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>rival<\/em><\/span> to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>the common good<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Capitalism<\/em><\/span>, meaning security in one\u2019s own property and in the right to work and to trade,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>is<\/em><\/span>\u00a0the common good that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>governments exist to secure<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>The U.S. government <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>exists<\/em><\/span> to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>see to the liberty of the American people<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>That is it<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>That<\/em><\/span> is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>its only reason for being<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #800000;\">It is an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>instrument<\/em><\/span> and a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>convenience<\/em><\/span>, the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>purpose of which is to ensure that Americans are able to enjoy their liberty and property<\/em> <\/span>\u2014 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>liberty and property being overlapping concepts<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>What is contemplated by Senator Rubio and Senator Warren \u2014 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>along with a few batty adherents of the primitive nonidea known in Catholic circles as \u201cintegralism<\/em><\/span>\u201d and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>everywhere else more forthrightly as \u201ctotalitarianism<\/em><\/span>\u201d \u2014 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>is to invert the purpose of the U.S. government<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #800000;\">Protecting Americans against those who would use force to curtail their liberty and take control of their property for their own ends <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>is<\/em><\/span> the duty of government; Rubio, Warren, et al. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>would have the government<\/em><\/span> become the party that curtails Americans\u2019 liberty and takes control of their property <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>for its own ends<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> Which is to say, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>in the name<\/em><\/span> of the \u201ccommon good,\u201d they would <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>organize an assault on the actual common good<\/em><\/span> the U.S. government was in fact <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>constituted to protect<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>This account isn\u2019t fringe libertarianism<\/em><\/span> \u2014 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>it\u2019s right there in the founding documents<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Being the nightwatchman is a difficult and generally thankless job, one that tends to receive attention only for its failures. <span style=\"color: #800000;\">But <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>that<\/em><\/span> is the job Senator Rubio and Senator Warren<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em> asked for<\/em><\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>campaigned for<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> But there is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>a lot more political juice in being the bandit<\/em><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>taking control of other people\u2019s property for your own purposes<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #800000;\">And let\u2019s have no more high-minded talk about the national interest from Senator Rubio, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>whose idea of the national interest is broad enough to encompass shilling for billionaire sugar barons<\/em><\/span>, or from Senator Warren, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>who has never met a tax increase on rich people she didn\u2019t like except for the one on medical-device manufacturers, who are (surprise!) clustered around Boston<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>We\u2019re<\/em><\/span> supposed to give up <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>our property rights<\/em><\/span> so that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>these two and their ilk can use corporate welfare to fortify their own political interests<\/em><\/span>? <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Hard pass<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> And considering how obvious it is that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>political incentives<\/em><\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>control<\/em><\/span> this kind of decision-making and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>control it utterly<\/em><\/span>, the notion that the internal management of any given firm presents us with questions of unconflicted and unitary \u201cnational interests\u201d that can be discerned and evaluated by a committee of lawyers in Washington and acted upon honestly <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>is absurd<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #800000;\"><em>It is indefensibly stupid<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>So, here&#8217;s to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>you<\/em><\/span>&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a
