“Ishmael Jefferson couldn\u2019t resist helping someone in need<\/em><\/span>. Whether it was giving a friend a ride to Boston<\/em><\/span>, loaning someone money or doing a good deed for the homeless, the 22-year-old Hempstead resident was always willing to lend a hand<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

…Jefferson died on Jan. 3 after he lost control of the 2015 Infiniti he was driving on the Southern State Parkway, hitting a tree in the center median.<\/strong> <\/span>Passengers Tony Porter of Westbury and Ja-Asia Hasty\u00a0of Hempstead\u00a0were also killed in the crash, while another passenger, Ty-Jeneyah Cruz<\/em><\/span>,<\/span> (more on Ty-Jeneyah later!<\/em>)<\/span> was seriously injured. <\/span>Police believe speeding<\/em><\/span> was a factor.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Kashawn Goldsby describes Jefferson as a friend he could always count on. Recently, Goldsby called Jefferson when he needed a last-minute ride to play a gig in Boston<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> \u201cHe stopped everything he was doing and drove me there<\/em><\/span>\u201d said\u00a0Goldsby<\/strong><\/span>…”<\/p>\n

Stolen Vehicle Found in Southington; 2 Suspects Charged<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/h1>\n

“A man and a woman from New York each face a felony charge after they were found in Southington inside a stolen vehicle. Ishmael Jefferson<\/span><\/em>, 20, and Ty-jeneyah Cruz<\/em><\/span>, 19, have been charged with first-degree larceny and possession of marijuana after state police pulled over a stolen 2018 Chrysler 300 – worth $38,900 – on June 27<\/span><\/strong><\/span>…”<\/p>\n
