it&#8217;s Progressive propaganda.\u00a0 Or, as Matt Continetti puts it at <em>AEI<\/em>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aei.org\/op-eds\/the-first-postmodern-pandemic\/?mkt_tok=eyJpIjoiTWpKbU5ETTRNV1E0WXpBdyIsInQiOiIxRmxrc2RqT1A5cjdXaElqNWE2NysyZ3Jmek5NTVpra29XN2VadDgrU09mcDErbStGdlJIU1NSU1YxbUZUanZWWm9QeVNac3JkRlp0V3R5d01UWTJhaVgzVUpWd0QrQkRrS0VhU0ZKdmZNak94MWhKUGdnRlJcL3J3cjN6TTU2NEIifQ%3D%3D\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the only predictable fallout of the coronavirus is partisanship<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Speaking of Progressive partisanship masquerading as unbiased reporting, in a follow-up to Friday&#8217;s lead item detailing the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/?p=78314\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\">fanciful fairy tale run as fact by FOX News<\/span><\/em><\/a>, we recently started to read an item by <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/five-more-years-of-populism-would-be-a-disaster-for-america\/2020\/02\/26\/952483aa-58bf-11ea-9b35-def5a027d470_story.html\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Michael R. Strain which appeared at\u00a0AEI<\/em><\/span><\/a><\/span>.\u00a0So, okay, the\u00a0<em>American Enterprise Institute&#8230;<\/em>\u00a0generally a fair source of analysis and commentary, and Strain is its director of economic policy studies&#8230;likely worth our time to read.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>That was, until we got to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>this<\/em><\/span> particular paragraph:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;<span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Trump\u2019s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>willingness to stoke racial animosity<\/em><em> threatens the foundations of prosperity the way termites threaten a house<\/em><\/span> \u2014 by assaulting its core. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">His <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>attacks on the post-World War II liberal international order threaten long-term prosperity by changing perceptions of our country abroad<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> His <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>weakening of federal institutions and the rule of law inflicts damage that could take years to undo<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">His <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>hostility toward immigrants makes the United States less attractive to many of the world\u2019s brightest and most ambitious people<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> The longer he is in office, the more ingrained these problems become.<\/strong><\/span>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seriously?!?\u00a0 Sorry, Mr. Strain, but was it\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Trump<\/em><\/span>\u00a0who stoked the flames of racial division by embracing\u00a0<em>Black Lives Matter<\/em>\u00a0following the Ferguson farce, and purposefully supported the myth of an American justice and law enforcement system riddled with bigotry?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/img-0.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-78340\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/img-0.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"396\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/img-0.jpeg 400w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/img-0-150x150.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/img-0-300x297.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>What &#8220;post-World War II liberal international order&#8221; (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Stop laughing<\/em><\/span>\u2026)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The institution \u2013 electronic, print and social media \u2014 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>has decided in the last few decades to have the kind of Estate Sale that one reads about in the papers<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Sold<\/em><\/span>! <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Lock, stock, and barrel to the far left-wing of the Democrat Party for invitations to the best DC parties, occasional sex for a leak leading to a scoop, and obscene salaries for reading aloud<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">For the first few years of the shredding of its Unbiased Mission Statement, an effort was made to be <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>a little bit stealthy<\/em><\/span> about it.<\/span> But <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>shortly after<\/em><\/span> Donald J. Trump descended that escalator and declared himself a candidate for the Presidency, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>the veil dropped<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">National Coming Out Day for the Media was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>proudly declared<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>No more<\/em><\/span> \u201cwho, what, when, where, why\u201d with even a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>thin veneer<\/em><\/span> of objectivity.<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> It was \u201c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>all hands on deck to screw over Orange Man Bad<\/em><\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Nothing good, <em>nothing positive<\/em>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>nothing humanizing<\/em><\/span> must <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>EVER<\/em><\/span> get through! <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Under <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>no<\/em><\/span> circumstances should DJT be \u201cnormalized.\u201d<\/span> They <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>actually used that word<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">So far beyond the pale was this President, this human being, that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>every single thing he touched had to be attacked<\/em><\/span> \u2013 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>his dessert, how he likes his steak, his beautiful wife, her Christmas decorations, the First Lady\u2019s clothes, her shoes, yes, even her<\/em><em> ACCENT<\/em><\/span>, for pity\u2019s sake, <em>never mind that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">she speaks five languages<\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">most of the newsheads are semi-literate in one<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> The President is not only \u201cliterally\u201d Hitler but also a Russian agent <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>which is a good trick<\/em><\/span>. <span
