width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Counter to the propaganda emanating from, and best efforts of, The Liberal Lowing Herd (i.e., America&#8217;s Progressive politicians, MSM, coastal enclaves, urban killing zones, ivied halls of Newspeak and overpaid athletes&#8230;not to mention Silicon Valley and Hollywood), a significant majority of Americans <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>rightly blame the ChiCom leadership<\/em><\/span> for what the world&#8217;s been <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>unnecessarily forced to endure<\/em><\/span>, and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>abhor<\/em><\/span> the affectations of Liberals of every stripe to politicize the pandemic while shifting the blame from Xi Jinping and his <em>WHO<\/em> shill to The Donald.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>EDITOR&#8217;S NOTE<\/em><\/span>: For the record, the blame lies <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>solely<\/em><\/span> with the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>leadership of the Communist Party of China<\/em><\/span>\u00a0, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not<\/em><\/span> the 1.4+\/- billion ordinary Chinese, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>nor<\/em><\/span> the over 5,000,000 American citizens of Chinese ancestry.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Consider the following from&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>(1). <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>The Bureaucrats<\/em><\/span>: When\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/health\/los-angeles-county-says-those-in-lower-income-communities-more-vulnerable-to-coronavirus\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Los Angeles County&#8217;s public health director suggests the Wuhan virus is the first racially\/and socio-economically-aware vector<\/em><\/span><\/a>&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/3ybfvf.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-80331\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/3ybfvf.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"263\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/3ybfvf.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/3ybfvf-300x188.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8230;and neither the article&#8217;s author nor Ms. Ferrer bother to specify the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedaily.com\/releases\/2018\/01\/180102134830.htm\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>pertinent underlying medical conditions<\/em><\/span><\/a> (i.e., significantly increased incidences of obesity, diabetes and cardio-pulmonary disease) which undoubtedly resulted in the unrepresentative rates of death, it leads one to believe they somehow <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>want<\/em><\/span> the Wuhan virus&#8230;<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">along with the President overseeing America&#8217;s response<\/span><\/em>&#8230;to seem insensitive to the plight of minorities and the poor.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>(2). <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Law Enforcement<\/em><\/span>: Sorry, but when, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>even in the People&#8217;s Democratic Republic of Maryland<\/em><\/span>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizpacreview.com\/2020\/04\/27\/maryland-restaurant-raided-by-15-officers-from-4-different-agencies-for-serving-to-gathered-takeout-crowd-913588?utm_campaign=bizpac&amp;utm_content=Newsletter&amp;utm_medium=Newsletter&amp;utm_source=Get+Response&amp;utm_term=EMAIL\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>fifteen officers from four different law enforcement agencies choose to descend upon a restaurant\/bar where some take-out customers have chosen to avail themselves of outdoor seating<\/em><\/span><\/a>&#8230;for <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>any<\/em><\/span> reason&#8230;we&#8217;re of a mind to believe they&#8217;ll obey any pronouncement from their Misleader&#8230;INCLUDING the confiscation of arms guaranteed under the 2nd Amendment.\u00a0 And RINO governor Larry Hogan, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>you<\/em><\/span> can go to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>HELL<\/em><\/span>!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>(3). <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>The Government<\/em><\/span>: As detailed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/bidens-conspiracy-theory-11587994134?mod=djemBestOfTheWeb\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Jim Freeman at Best of the Web<\/em><\/span><\/a>&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;&#8230;<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Meanwhile in New York, the amazing governmental feat of\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>both<\/em><\/span>\u00a0crushing the economy\u00a0<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">and<\/span>\u00a0<\/em>enabling the spread of infection is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>even worse than feared<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">A week ago<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a class=\"icon none\" style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/forecasting-media-panic-11587403535?mod=article_inline\">this column noted<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #333399;\">research suggesting that the decision to reduce New York City subway traffic <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>forced workers deemed essential by government into closer contact<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> Also now getting more attention is New York State\u2019s decision to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>force the most vulnerable population to become even more vulnerable<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">Suzy Khimm of NBC News\u00a0reports:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><em>The coronavirus patients began arriving the last week of March, transferred to the Gurwin Jewish Nursing and Rehabilitation Center under a New York state mandate <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">requiring<\/span> nursing homes to accept those recovering from COVID-19, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">even if they still might be contagious<\/span>.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><p><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><em>At the time, the Long Island nursing home had <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">only one known resident who had contracted the virus<\/span>, according to the facility\u2019s president and CEO, Stuart Almer.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><em>A month later, Gurwin is battling an outbreak that\u2019s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">killed 24 residents<\/span> \u2014 only <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">three<\/span> of whom were hospital transfers \u2014 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">and one staff member<\/span>, who worked in housekeeping, Almer said. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">And the nursing home is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">still<\/span> mandated to take in recovering hospital patients <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">known to have the virus<\/span>, potentially increasing its spread in the facility.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Michael Goodwin\u00a0observes\u00a0in the New York Post:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Recall that the phrase \u201cout of an abundance of caution\u201d was used to justify shutdowns of schools, churches and commerce and impose social distancing guidelines <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">everywhere<\/span>.<\/span> Nursing homes needed <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">even more extreme protections<\/span>, which is why <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">all visitors<\/span>, including family, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">were banned<\/span>, lest they accidentally infect loved ones and start a daisy chain of death.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><p><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><em>Yet when it came to those <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">same facilities<\/span>, members of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Gov. [Andrew] Cuomo\u2019s team didn\u2019t exhibit a whit of caution or common sense<\/span>.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>On Friday the Post\u2019s Bernadette Hogan, Carl Campanile and Bruce Golding\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a class=\"icon none\" style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2020\/04\/24\/new-york-nursing-home-denied-requests-to-send-covid-19-patients-to-usns-comfort\/?mod=article_inline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u00a0on a Brooklyn nursing home which asked government health officials to route <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>suspected Covid patients<\/em><\/span> to the empty beds at the Javits Center or the Navy hospital ship Comfort. <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>The requests were rejected<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> More than <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>50 patients at the nursing home have died of coronavirus<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Mr. Cuomo\u2019s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>government-led virus strategy has failed the most vulnerable patients<\/em><\/span>, even as it <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>destroyed businesses and jobs<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> He should <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>immediately end the lockdown<\/em><\/span> and allow <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>free people to help themselves and each other<\/em><\/span>\u2014and that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>includes<\/em><\/span> by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>generating the wealth necessary for survival<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>One, quite literally, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>couldn&#8217;t make up<\/em><\/span> such a sh*t show!\u00a0 But what&#8217;s good for the goose is good for the gander: and if The Liberal Lowing Herd wants to hold Trump responsible for Wuhan-related deaths across the U.S., Fredo&#8217;s older brother killed those nursing home residents as surely as Luca Brasi&#8217;s swimming with the fishes.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>(4). <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>The Elite<\/em><\/span>: When <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-8259591\/Now-not-time-Bill-Gates-defends-China-coronavirus-response.html\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>The 2nd Richest Man in the World claims<\/em><\/span><\/a><\/span> (i) Xi &#8220;did a lot of things right&#8221;; (ii) criticism of the ChiComs is a &#8220;distraction; (iii) President Trump handled the Wuhan response &#8220;particularly poorly&#8221; compared to other world leaders; and (iv) the WHO is a &#8220;phenomenal&#8221; agency, you <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>know<\/em><\/span> there&#8217;s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>more to the story<\/em><\/span>&#8230;that perhaps being the source of Bill and Melinda Gate&#8217;s fortune is heavily invested in Communist China&#8230;and their foundation is the second-largest contributor to the <em>WHO<\/em>, only behind the U.S. taxpayer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thus the dishonesty of the ChiComs and\/or WHO would reflect poorly on the judgement of Bill and Melinda Gates.\u00a0 Oooh, we can&#8217;t have <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>that<\/em><\/span>, can we?!?\u00a0 After all, Bill and Mel would rather <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>you die<\/em><\/span> than <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>they look bad<\/em><\/span>!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>(5). <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Silicon Valley<\/em><\/span>: We can only hope by airtime the clips from Tucker Carlson and Mark Levin accessible through links #1 and #2 immediately below our <em>Quote of the Day<\/em> at the top of the page are still available, for, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.redstate.com\/jeffc\/2020\/04\/28\/youtube-takes-down-video-of-california-doctors-who-argued-for-lifting-covid-19-restrictions\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/2020\/04\/14\/state-department-cables-warned-safety-issues-wuhan-lab-studying-bat-coronaviruses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"broken_link\">t<span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\">he U.S. State Department\u2019s 2018 assessment that<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u00a0<\/span>\u201cthe new lab <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>has a serious shortage of appropriately trained technicians and investigators needed to safely operate this high-containment laboratory<\/em><\/span>.\u201d <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">NPR\u2019s report <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>briefly mentions<\/em><\/span> the State Department assessment in passing, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>but never attempts to square its conclusions with the quoted virologists\u2019 confidence in the diligence of Chinese researchers<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>The NPR report also includes an odd omission in its discussion of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>previous<\/em><\/span> lab accidents:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">In the early 2000s, there were <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">three documented cases of the original SARS virus escaping from a laboratory environment<\/span>, according to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Lim Poh Lian<\/span>, a senior consultant at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases in Singapore.<\/span> But the circumstances surrounding those escapes were vastly different.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">In the case of\u00a0a 2003 incident in Singapore, a student became infected with SARS after his samples were cross-contaminated with live virus.<\/span> That virus was being grown in relatively large quantities in the lab for studies on the disease, and the student was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not properly trained in safety procedures<\/span> for the lab he was working in.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>Yes, but the <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">other two accidental lab releases<\/span><\/em> of SARS <a style=\"color: #ff9900;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.the-scientist.com\/news-analysis\/sars-escaped-beijing-lab-twice-50137\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\">separately occurred at the\u00a0Chinese Institute of Virology in Beijing<\/span><\/em><\/span>,<\/a>\u00a0part of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>China\u2019s Center for Disease Control<\/em><\/span>, and were blamed on \u201c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>negligence<\/em><\/span>,\u201d a point that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>seems germane to the discussion of the likelihood of negligence causing an accident in a state-run laboratory in China<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The NPR report quotes an e-mail from Lim: \u201cWhile there is always <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>some risk<\/em><\/span> for lab accidents, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>risk is not reality<\/em><\/span>.\u201d<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">Whatever <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>that<\/em><\/span> is meant to mean, the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>best scientists in the world<\/em><\/span> have left\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2014\/07\/11\/health\/smallpox-found-nih-alive\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">smallpox in a storage room at the National Institutes of Health building<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">,<\/span>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/media\/releases\/2014\/p0711-lab-safety.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">exposed coworkers to live anthrax on the CDC\u2019s Atlanta campus<\/span><\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">,<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">\u00a0and<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/thebulletin.org\/2019\/11\/what-happened-after-an-explosion-at-a-russian-disease-research-lab-called-vector\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Russia accidentally had an explosion at its laboratory storing smallpox samples<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The CDC\u2019s Federal Select Agent Program<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/thebulletin.org\/2019\/02\/human-error-in-high-biocontainment-labs-a-likely-pandemic-threat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">collected 749 incident reports from select-agent research facilities from 2009 to 2015, and 79 percent of those incidents involved human error<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">It is unclear why <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Chinese labs<\/span><\/em> would be <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>immune<\/em><\/span> to the kinds of accidents that befall some of the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>most respected institutions in the world<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>The report contends that the idea of researchers who traveled into the wild to collect bats to research coronaviruses would be unlikely to encounter <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>this<\/em><\/span> particular virus:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><em>That raises the first coincidence that would be needed for SARS-CoV-2 to come out of a laboratory: Scientists would have to find it in nature first. <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">\u201cMost of the viruses [carried by bats]\u00a0actually probably don\u2019t even have the capacity to infect humans,\u201d says Anthony.<\/span> So <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">scientists collecting field samples<\/span> would, in some sense, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">have to win the lottery to collect a coronavirus that happens to be highly transmissible in humans<\/span>.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>It is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>unclear why<\/em><\/span> it would be <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>wildly implausible for scientists<\/em><\/span> to catch a bat that had this virus but <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">perfectly plausible for a poacher<\/span><\/em> working for a wet market to do the same.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">A lot of the\u00a0arguments in the NPR segment <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>amount to insisting the<\/em> <em>staff at these labs are just too well-trained to have an accident like this<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">Perhaps they are.<\/span> But <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>recent months have demonstrated<\/em><\/span> that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>a lot of institutions in China don\u2019t want to report mistakes and bad news up the chain to their bosses<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">The world has seen <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><span style=\"color: #ff9900; text-decoration: underline;\">Wuhan public health authoritie<\/span>s<\/em><\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/the-morning-jolt\/chinas-devastating-lies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">spend at least three weeks insisting the virus could not spread from person to person when doctors in hospitals knew otherwise<\/a><\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">, and <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Chinese manufacturers<\/span><\/em><\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/the-morning-jolt\/authoritarian-regimes-are-not-your-friend\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sent at least 10 million defective and unusable tests, masks, and personal protective equipment to other countries<\/a><\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>It is hard to believe that any group or institution is simply \u201ctoo diligent\u201d to allow this kind of accident to occur<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #008000;\">(<em>Hard? It defies belief!!!<\/em>)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>With all of that said, those who are advocates for the lab accident theory need to come to terms with a difficult fact: The <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">evidence<\/span><\/em> of the accident <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>may never be found<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">If it ever existed, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>it probably has been destroyed by now<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> The Chinese government would <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>never<\/em><em> confess<\/em><\/span> such a colossally consequential error. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">This is likely to be a theory supported with only circumstantial evidence for years, perhaps decades.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>It is also important to understand that <em>a <\/em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">great many people in powerful positions<\/span><em>, both <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">inside and outside<\/span> of China, are consciously or subconsciously hoping the pandemic <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">cannot<\/span> be traced back to a lab accident<\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">If the source of the virus is a wet market or natural exposure \u2014 say, a farmer going into a cave to collect guano to use as fertilizer \u2014 <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">then the villains of the story are familiar and aligned the status quo<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> No one likes poachers of exotic animals or endangered species. Experts have\u00a0warned about the dangers of wet markets for years. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">While it will be difficult to significantly reduce the use of wet markets, or to tackle the\u00a0$19 billion-per-year international wildlife trafficking trade, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>there are very few economic or political elites who\u00a0openly support pangolin smuggling\u00a0or\u00a0dining on bats<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>However, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">there are a lot of economic or political elites who invested a great deal of their credibility on the idea that the Chinese government could be a trustworthy and responsible partner in prosperity<\/span><\/em>, despite regular disagreements with other countries about topics such as human rights, freedom of expression, and trade-rule enforcement.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">This virus has, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>as of this writing<\/em><\/span>, infected more than 3 million people worldwide and killed more than 209,000 people.<\/span> China\u2019s relationship with the rest of the world has <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>never been more strained<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Internal pressures in China have <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>rarely been worse<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> Around the world, populations are scared, frustrated, newly unemployed, financially ruined, and angry. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The revelation that a Chinese lab <span style=\"color: #008000;\">(<em>Sorry, not just &#8220;a Chinese lab, but a CHINESE GOVERNMENT LAB!!!<\/em>)<\/span> was the ultimate source of all this misery could set off violent repercussions <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">for the Chinese government<\/span><\/em>, the Chinese people, or Chinese Americans. <span style=\"color: #008000;\">(<em>Really? Like 9\/11 set off violent repercussions for Arab Americans?!?<\/em>)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>We shouldn\u2019t\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>want<\/em><\/span>\u00a0the trail to lead back to a Wuhan laboratory. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">But that doesn\u2019t mean we can avert our eyes from anything suggesting <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>it does<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>At the risk of seeming repetitive,
