The CARES Act adds a<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aha.org\/advisory\/2020-04-16-coronavirus-update-cms-releases-guidance-implementing-cares-act-provisions\" class=\"broken_link\">20 percent premium<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #800080;\">for COVID-19 Medicare patients.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Incentives matter.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #800080;\">When the government <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>increased<\/em><\/span> the disability compensation for air traffic controllers, a lot more controllers suddenly started<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jstor.org\/stable\/1812020?seq=1\">claiming to be disabled<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #800080;\">.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">When unemployment insurance payments <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>increase<\/em><\/span>,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/economics.mit.edu\/files\/3907\" class=\"broken_link\">more people become unemployed<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u00a0and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>stay<\/em><\/span> unemployed for longer periods.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #800080;\">When the government offers flood insurance that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>charges everyone the same insurance premium regardless of the risk level<\/em><\/span> in their area,<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/chicagounbound.uchicago.edu\/cgi\/viewcontent.cgi?article=12498&amp;context=journal_articles\" class=\"broken_link\">more people build\u00a0homes in frequently flooded areas<\/a><\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #800080;\">.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">The\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/investigations\/2020\/04\/27\/covid-19-death-toll-undercounted\/?arc404=true&amp;fbclid=IwAR12GUMnPYW3499WhoOtH32_Zp18iPSMsQfh7Mrt9jD1o7sPSgSfD7-uyOs\" class=\"broken_link\">Washington Post<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/healthcare\/497156-nyc-saw-24000-excess-deaths-as-coronavirus-ravaged-health-care-system\" class=\"broken_link\">others<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>\u00a0claim that we are <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>undercounting<\/em><\/span> the true number of deaths.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #800080;\">They reach that conclusion by showing the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>total number of deaths from all causes is greater than we would normally expect<\/em><\/span> from March through early May, and that <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">this excess<\/span><\/em> is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>actually<\/em><\/span> due to deaths <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not being accurately labeled as due to the Coronavirus<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">But <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>these<\/em><\/span> are simply <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not normal times<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Lots of people<\/em><\/span> with heart and other problems <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>aren\u2019t going to the hospital for fear of the virus<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Surgeries for many <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>serious conditions<\/em><\/span> are being <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>put off<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #800080;\">The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>stress<\/em><\/span> of the situation is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>increasing<\/em><\/span> suicides and other illnesses.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Deaths that have <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>absolutely nothing to do<\/em><\/span> with the Coronavirus <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>count as virus deaths<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #800080;\">Add to that claims that the CDC is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>double counting some of these improperly identified cases<\/em><\/span> and the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>perverse financial incentives created by the government<\/em><\/span>, and you have a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>real mess<\/em><\/span> when <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>crucial decisions are being made<\/em><\/span> based in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>large part<\/em><\/span> on <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>this data<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here&#8217;s a case in point, as <em>FOX News<\/em>\u00a0reports&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"headline\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/colorado-lowers-coronavirus-death-count\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600; text-decoration: underline;\">Colorado amends coronavirus death count &#8211; says fewer have died of COVID-19 than previously reported<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/covid-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-81042\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/covid-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"237\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/covid-2.png 420w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/covid-2-300x169.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;<span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>The change came after\u00a0Colorado\u2019s Department of Public Health\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>admitted that its COVID-19 death toll was counting those who tested positive for the coronavirus but had died of other causes<\/em><\/span>,\u00a0Fox 31 Denver\u00a0reported late Friday.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>The department now says <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">1,150<\/span><\/em> Coloradoans who died <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">had<\/span><\/em> COVID-19 but only <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>878<\/em><\/span> of those deaths were \u201c<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">due to<\/span><\/em>\u201d COVID-19<\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>For more on the Wuhan virus, we turn to an interview featured at <em>Spiked<\/em> forwarded by Jeff Foutch, as e<\/strong><strong>pidemiologist Knut Wittkowski comments on the deadly consequences of&#8230;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>lockdown<\/em><\/span>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"title-xl serif darkBlue bold\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>started<\/em><\/span>, there was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>one reason given for the lockdown<\/em><\/span> and that was<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em> to prevent hospitals from becoming overloaded<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">There is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>no indication<\/em><\/span> that hospitals <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>could ever have become overloaded<\/em><\/span>, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">irrespective<\/span><\/em> of what we did.<\/span> So <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">we could open up again, and forget the whole thing<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I hope the intervention <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>did not have too much<\/em><\/span> of an impact because it <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>most likely made the situation worse<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> The intervention was to \u2018flatten the curve\u2019. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">That means that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>there would be the same number of cases but spread out over a longer period of time<\/em><\/span>, because otherwise the hospitals would not have enough capacity<\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>As we suggested in an earlier edition, Fauxci hasn&#8217;t <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>prevented<\/em><\/span> the spread of Beijing&#8217;s latest gift to the world, he&#8217;s simply <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>postponed<\/em><\/span> it&#8230;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>if that<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0 Time to wake up and see the truth, America, no matter <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>how much<\/em><\/span>&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a willfully mislead&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a
