{"id":81723,"date":"2020-06-07T20:23:26","date_gmt":"2020-06-08T00:23:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/?p=81723"},"modified":"2020-06-07T20:23:32","modified_gmt":"2020-06-08T00:23:32","slug":"the-daily-gouge-archive-friday-june-5th-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/?p=81723","title":{"rendered":"The Daily Gouge Archive, Friday, June 5th, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>It&#8217;s Friday, June 5th, 2020&#8230;but before we begin, in honor of Thomas Sowell, allow us to offer one brief thought on the passing scene.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Progressives <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>purport<\/em><\/span>\u00a0to desire a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>dialogue<\/em><\/span>&#8230;on <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>racism<\/em><\/span>, along with <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>any number<\/em><\/span> of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>other subjects<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0 But a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>dialogue<\/em><\/span> inherently requires a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>two-way conversation<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Truth is, they <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>don&#8217;t want<\/em><\/span> a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>dialogue<\/em><\/span>; what they\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>want<\/em><\/span>\u00a0is a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>monologue<\/em><\/span>&#8230;with <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>them doin&#8217; all the talkin<\/em><\/span>&#8216;!!!\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/nfl\/news\/drew-brees-faces-backlash-from-saints-teammates-and-beyond-for-comments-about-kneeling-during-the-anthem\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Drew Brees&#8217; crucifixion<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/a> is proof positive.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s a man who&#8217;s done more for the people and city of New Orleans than anyone since Andrew Jackson, yet\u00a0<\/strong><strong>he&#8217;s pilloried as ignorant and a racist by those who couldn&#8217;t pass a high school civics test.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>So, no matter how many times former heroes like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.powerlineblog.com\/archives\/2020\/06\/mattis-mush.php\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Jim Mattis abase themselves<\/em><\/span><\/a>, or RINOs like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bushcenter.org\/about-the-center\/newsroom\/press-releases\/2020\/06\/statement-by-president-george-w-bush.html\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>George W. Bush embarrass themselves<\/em><\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>we ain&#8217;t buyin&#8217; it<\/em><\/span>!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Seriously, Bush and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/editorials\/obama-the-great-divider-when-in-office-lacks-the-credibility-to-lecture-america\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>The Great Divider<\/em><\/span><\/a> literally ran the country for a combined 16 years, yet together they&#8217;ve the chutzpah to conclude America <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>still<\/em><\/span> has a systemic race problem?!?\u00a0 Sorry, but <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>WTF<\/em><\/span> were <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>you two<\/em> <em>doing<\/em><\/span>\u00a0during your time in office?!?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Here&#8217;s the juice: urban police unions who block accountability for bad cops contribute to Dimocratic politicians running cities who haven&#8217;t elected Republicans in 50 years&#8230;yet somehow the cause of the problem is thrown at the feet of a President who&#8217;s only police union chief: George Floyd had \u2018violent criminal history<\/span><\/a>\u2019<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/6d2c5ccc-4d7b-4075-a539-5b396128342e-VPC_SURVEILLANCE_BEFORE_GEORGE_FLOYD_ARREST_COURTESY_DRAGON_WOK_wide.jpg\"><img of the Minneapolis police union<\/em><\/span> says George Floyd\u2019s \u201cviolent criminal history\u201d needs to be remembered and that the protests over his death are the work of a \u201cterrorist movement.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cWhat is not being told is the violent criminal history of George Floyd.<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>The media will not air this,\u201d police union president Bob Kroll told his members in a letter\u00a0posted Monday on Twitter<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Floyd had landed five years behind bars in 2009 for an assault and robbery two years earlier, and before that, had been convicted of charges ranging from theft with a firearm to drugs<\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Which of course in no way justifies what Derek Chauvin <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>did<\/em><\/span>, or what the other three officers <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>allowed.<\/em><\/span>\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>More importantly<\/em><\/span>, no where did Kroll mention the conduct which caused Floyd&#8217;s death, only vowing&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;&#8230;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">his organization would help the cop accused of killing Floyd,\u00a0now-fired Officer Derek Chauvin, and\u00a0three other officers who were at the scene\u00a0and are being investigated.<\/span> \u201cI\u2019ve worked with the four defense attorneys that are representing each of our four terminated individuals under criminal investigation, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">in addition with our labor attorneys to fight for their jobs<\/span><\/em>. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">They were terminated <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>without due process<\/em><\/span>,\u201d Kroll wrote.<\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fine, that&#8217;s his job, odious as it is.\u00a0 But Kroll&#8217;s knee-jerk reaction highlights how the all-too-cozy relationship between Dimocratic politicians and their police union contributors is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>part of the<\/em> <em>problem<\/em><\/span>\u00a0rather than <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">any realistic\u00a0solution<\/span><\/em>.\u00a0 As we told TLJ, watch for one if not all of the Floyd Four, certainly if acquitted and likely even if convicted, to sue the city for wrongful termination.\u00a0 And they <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>just may<\/em><\/span> find a judge or arbitrator who&#8217;ll take their side.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Interesting aside: though we used <em>Safari<\/em>, <em>Chrome<\/em> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>and<\/em><\/span> <em>Bing<\/em>\u00a0in a vain attempt to locate a mug shot of <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1LvRYsbAWg36Qr5jo4r7aMx5zSWASs8_F\/view\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">George Floyd<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/a>, despite his numerous arrests, the only related photo we could find was of\u00a0<\/strong><strong>the four incarcerated cops.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a
