text-decoration: underline;\">Georgia clothing store called &#8216;racist&#8217; for appointment fee policy<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/h1>\n<h3 class=\"sub-headline speakable\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><a style=\"color: #800080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/lifestyle\/georgia-clothing-store-racist-appointment-policy\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The owners have since apologized and removed the rule<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/civvies2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-84184\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/civvies2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"236\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/civvies2.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/civvies2-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;&#8230;<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Civvies on Broughton Street in Savannah posted that it would require a refundable $20 deposit when booking an appointment to visit the boutique.<\/span> However, the since-deleted post also wrote that <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">people of color would be exempt from the fee<\/span><\/em>, the\u00a0New York Post\u00a0reported.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">\u201cAs a mostly White staff with White ownership, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">we do not feel comfortable upholding a digital and financial barrier which could prevent BIPOC from shopping at our store at this time<\/span><\/em> on top of the limitations already made by online booking,\u201d the store announced last week, the Post shared.<\/span> The \u201cnew and recycled clothing\u201d store wrote that <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">patrons who \u201care White and refuse to put down a deposit because you believe our policy is unethical\u201d would not be allowed to make an appointment<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>Since putting up the policy, the store received negative reactions <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">and threats of legal action<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;<strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">After the widespread backlash, the business put up an apology and removed all mention of the previous policy for its social media.<span style=\"color: #008080;\"> \u201cStatement from the owners, \u2019It was not our intention to act in any way that might be <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">perceived as discriminatory<\/span><\/em> and for <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>that<\/em><\/span> we apologize,&#8217;\u201d a Facebook message read.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>\u201cNo one &#8220;<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">perceived<\/span><\/em>&#8221; Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren; he <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>refused to kowtow<\/em><\/span> to the Twitter blue checkmarks calling for him to endorse rioting and looting; he <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>shied away from<\/em><\/span> insane slogans about defunding the police.<\/span> He <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>stayed in the basement<\/em><\/span>, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">playing prevent defense<\/span><\/em> against President Donald Trump.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>All he had before him was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>one final hurdle<\/em><\/span>: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>picking a vice president<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Usually<\/span><\/em>, the vice presidential pick means little or nothing. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The vice presidency is a uniquely powerless office, and presidents <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>rarely hand over power<\/em><\/span> to their vice presidents.<\/span> But Joe Biden will be <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">78<\/span><\/em> in November and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>appears to be slipping significantly mentally<\/em><\/span> &#8212; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>despite<\/em><\/span> CNN&#8217;s protestations that he can <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>still ride a bicycle<\/em><\/span>.<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> There <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>is a reason<\/em><\/span> nearly <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>6 in 10 Americans<\/em><\/span>, according to a new Rasmussen poll, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>think Biden&#8217;s vice president will finish his first term<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>So Biden had <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>one task<\/em><\/span>: to pick a vice president <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>who would appear nonthreatening, mainstream and generally normal<\/em><\/span>.<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> The onus would then lie with President Trump to shift the spotlight from his own campaign.<\/span><i class=\"fa fa-arrow-circle-right\"><\/i><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Biden couldn&#8217;t do it<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">He made an <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">early error<\/span><\/em> on that score when he <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>declared publicly that he would pick a woman<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> This made it <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>obvious<\/em><\/span> that Biden was seeking <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>a token<\/em><\/span> &#8212; some sop for the woke progressives in his base. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">And <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>that sop<\/em><\/span> opened the door to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>further demands<\/em><\/span>: the demand, for example, that he pick <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not merely a woman<\/em><\/span> (or, as the woke left might have it, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">an individual with a cervix<\/span><\/em>) but a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>black woman<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> And so Biden <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>was trapped<\/em><\/span> into a limited selection of politicians, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>ranging from the unknown<\/em><\/span> (Rep. Val Demings of Florida) <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>to the communist<\/em><\/span> (Rep. Kamala Harris, D-Calif.<\/span> Harris is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>deeply radical<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">She endorsed &#8220;Medicare for All&#8221; while announcing that she would move Americans away from their private health care plans; she announced in open debate that she would use executive orders to ban &#8220;assault weapons&#8221;; she said she would ban fracking; she attacked Justice Brett Kavanaugh as a purported rapist and Judge Brian Buescher for his Catholicism.<\/span> Harris is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>unpopular with many black Americans<\/em><\/span>: As a prosecutor, she was fond of pursuing heavy sentences for light charges, as well as civil asset forfeiture &#8212; and then she bragged about smoking marijuana during her campaign. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Harris has similarly alienated moderates, attacking Biden himself as a vicious racist for his unwillingness to support forced school busing in the 1970s, and suggesting that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>she believed Biden&#8217;s sexual harassment accusers<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> There <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>is a reason<\/em><\/span> Harris utterly flamed out in the primaries, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>aside from her bizarre habit of breaking into a Joker-esque whoop when asked difficult questions<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/USZmCBOQnsE?start=25&amp;end=26&amp;\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Nothing<\/span><\/em> about Harris screams nonthreatening.<\/span> In fact, in her Machiavellian campaign manipulations, she appeared deeply threatening &#8212; threatening enough that Biden campaign adviser Chris Dodd reportedly wondered why Harris &#8220;had no remorse&#8221; for her opportunistic and dishonest attacks on Biden. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">At the <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">very least<\/span><\/em>, Biden should hire <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>a food taster<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>In selecting Harris, Biden has opened the door to the Trump campaign. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">And Trump should take full advantage.<\/span> Biden&#8217;s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>alleged<\/em><\/span> moderation <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>means nothing<\/em><\/span> if he is willing to place Kamala Harris <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>one heartbeat<\/em><\/span> <span style=\"color: #008000;\">(<em>or a few rapidly degenerating brain cells!<\/em>)<\/span> <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">from the presidency<\/span><\/em>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Biden&#8217;s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>entire campaign strategy<\/em><\/span> has <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">now been undercut<\/span><\/em> &#8212; text-decoration: underline;\">Who or\u00a0<em>What<\/em>\u00a0Exactly Is Running Against Trump<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">?<\/span><\/a><\/h1>\n<h3 style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/amgreatness.com\/2020\/08\/09\/who-or-what-exactly-is-running-against-trump\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The inner-Biden at 77 is turning out to be an unabashed bigot in the age of \u201ccancel culture\u201d and thought crimes that has apparently declared him immune from the opprobrium reserved for any such speech<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/041709_biden.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-84147\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/041709_biden.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"236\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/041709_biden.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/041709_biden-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span class=\"av_dropcap1 \">&#8220;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>A<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>s we enter the final 90 days of the November presidential campaign, a few truths are crystalizing about the \u201cBiden problem,\u201d or <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>the inability of a 77-year-old Joe Biden to conduct a \u201cnormal\u201d campaign<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Biden\u2019s cognitive challenges are <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">increasing geometrically<\/span><\/em>, whether as a result of <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">months of relative inactivity and lack of stimulation or just consistent with the medical trajectory of his affliction<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> His lot is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>increasingly similar<\/em><\/span> to historical figures such as 67-year-old President William Henry Harrison, William Gladstone\u2019s last tenure as prime minister, Chancellor Hindenburg, or Franklin Roosevelt in late 1944\u2014<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">age and physical infirmities signaling to the concerned that a subordinate might assume power sooner than later<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8230;<\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Recently, when Biden has <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>attempted<\/em><\/span> to speak <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>without prompts<\/em><\/span>, indeed to <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">clear up<\/span><\/em> \u201crumors\u201d of his cognitive problems, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">he simply loses his train of thought and utters a series of unstructured and unsettled thoughts that refute the very premise of his interview<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> The understandable Democratic strategy is to <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">run out the clock<\/span><\/em> and to choreograph a few post-Labor Day public appearances, to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>outsource campaigning to his running mate and future cabinet secretaries<\/em><\/span>, and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>then to hope<\/em><\/span>, in the manner of a 2016 Hillary Clinton, that <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">he has amassed a large enough September lead to outlast a closing October Trump campaign<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2D4oIQ4gDhs?start=49&amp;end=95&amp;\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">There are problems with such a strategy, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">as we saw in 2016<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> If Biden late in the campaign stumbles in the debates, there is no post-convention remedy to reassure the public he is\u00a0<em>compos mentis<\/em>\u00a0or otherwise can be replaced by a majority consensus. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Then the country would be entering something <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>eerily similar to<\/em><\/span>, but <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">far graver than<\/span><\/em>, the McGovern debacle of desperately looking for a new running mate after it was disclosed that an apparently perfectly cognizant Tom Eagleton\u2014his running-mate for 18 days\u2014<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>had undergone two electric shock treatments in his past as well as undisclosed prior hospitalizations for bipolar disorder<\/em><\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Right now, the Democrats have a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>virtual campaign and a virtual candidate<\/em><\/span> and a strategy of running against the Trump news cycle. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">That <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>may<\/em><\/span> work, but it <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>assumes<\/em><\/span> Americans under quarantine don\u2019t mind that they do not really know who is the Democratic challenger, or that Biden <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>is<\/em><\/span>, in fact, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not physically or mentally able to function<\/em><\/span> as either a candidate or president.<\/span> It <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>also assumes<\/em><\/span> that the Trump-owned news cycle will remain as dismal over the next three months as it has the last five or six weeks, and that the virus will spike in late October again, rather than slowly burn out as it seems to be doing in Sweden and elsewhere in Europe.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Add it all up and the question is no longer whether Biden could fulfill the duties of the presidency but whether he can finish a traditional campaign over the next three months\u2014without outsourcing his duties to a committee,<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em> or serially saying something blatantly racist<\/em><\/span>, or simply disappearing to the nether world of his basement <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>where saying nothing beats saying anything<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Better Joe <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">say<\/span><\/em> nothing, &#8217;cause he <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>knows<\/em><\/span> nothing&#8230;and less and less at that every day.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lastly,\u00a0<\/strong><strong>the <em>WSJ<\/em>&#8216;s Jason Riley hears&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"wsj-article-headline\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/echoes-of-1984-in-bidens-vice-presidential-choice-11597188196?mod=MorningEditorialReport&amp;mod=djemMER_h\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; Tim Kaine as her running mate, was among those pointing out the error.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Ms. Dowd\u2019s column was mainly about whether Joe Biden\u2019s running mate, who we now know is California Sen. Kamala Harris, will have to endure the same indignities that Rep. Geraldine Ferraro did when she joined Walter Mondale\u2019s ticket in 1984 to challenge President Reagan. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">The more interesting question might be the extent to which blunt appeals to gender and race still animate the American electorate today.<\/span> As George Will put it after Ferraro died, \u201cshe was an instrument\u2014Geraldine Ferraro was\u2014of identity politics, a Catholic woman from Queens.\u201d <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">The result?<\/span> Mondale lost Catholics and women. Reagan even came close in Queens.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Like all presidential candidates, Mr. Biden was looking for someone to help him\u2014or at least not hurt him\u2014geographically and with certain voting blocs.<\/span> His campaign has made no secret of his strategy to <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">win back<\/span><\/em> white working-class residents of battleground states like Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin who left the Democratic Party to vote for Donald Trump. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">It\u2019s hard to see how Ms. Harris will help him with those voters<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> Barack Obama won them over in 2008 by <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">playing down<\/span><\/em> racial differences on the campaign trail. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Ms. Harris\u2019s most memorable moment during the primary was to suggest that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Mr. Biden was a racist<\/em><\/span> for expressing opinions about forced busing in the 1970s that turned out to be nearly identical to her own.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>The inconvenient truth for progressives is that primary voters <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">bypassed several female and minority candidates<\/span><\/em>\u2014<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>including<\/em><\/span> Ms. Harris\u2014<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>to nominate Mr. Biden<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>If having a woman on the ticket were a priority for most Democrats<\/em>, why did Elizabeth Warren and Amy Klobuchar flame out<\/span>?<\/span> In <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>addition<\/em><\/span> to Ms. Harris, black voters might have opted for Cory Booker if <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">race<\/span><\/em> was a top concern, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">yet they overwhelmingly went for Mr. Biden<\/span><\/em>. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Perhaps <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>liberal elites and their media allies<\/em><\/span> care more about a presidential ticket that \u201clooks like America\u201d <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>than the felons, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">putting them back on the streets before their trials<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> The charity, like other community bond funds across the country, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">is now flush with cash<\/span><\/em>, raising $3.5 million from 75,000 contributors in late May and early June. <span style=\"color: #003300;\">Bond funds together have taken in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>$90 million in the weeks following George Floyd\u2019s death alone<\/em><\/span>,\u00a0according to\u00a0the\u00a0<em>New York Times<\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8230;<\/span><strong>Bond receipts obtained by the\u00a0<em>Washington Free Beacon<\/em>\u00a0show that the Chicago fund <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">has posted bond for defendants charged with violent crimes<\/span><\/em>. <span style=\"color: #003300;\">Of the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>24<\/em><\/span> people the group freed on May 31 and June 1 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>in Cook County<\/em><em>alone<\/em><\/span>, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">seven faced weapons charges<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Among the individuals freed by the group is 25-year-old Christian Frazee, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">who was charged with attempted terrorism and possession of an incendiary device<\/span><\/em>. <span style=\"color: #003300;\">Prosecutors say Frazee was detained in the early morning hours of June 1 as he approached squad cars <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">wielding a molotov cocktail and a lighter<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> He allegedly had a butane torch lighter and a bat in his backpack.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8230;<\/span><strong style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><span style=\"color: #003300;\">The fund also promotes the work of Chicago-based activist groups that have played a lead role in organizing anti-police protests.<\/span> Together with public interest groups like the National Lawyers Guild that provide legal services for activists, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>the CCBF acts as a kind of insurance policy for demonstrators<\/em><\/span> who have taken to the streets in massive numbers throughout the summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #003300;\">When considering whom to post bond for, the Chicago fund takes into account the accused\u2019s &#8220;position in relation to structural violence&#8221; and likelihood of abuse behind bars.<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Women and gender nonconforming people are overrepresented in its client pool<\/em><\/span>, the group said in 2017<\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>We&#8217;d ask
