text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\">Lancaster DA Releases Footage of Police Shooting Armed Suspect that Lead to Riots<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CHBeRPxZ6KE?start=98&amp;end=154&amp;\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>The Lancaster County District Attorney&#8217;s Office released the body camera footage that showed the police-involved shooting of an armed suspect. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">The incident was <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">quickly seized<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> on by Black Lives Matter<\/span><\/em> activists and the <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">protests<\/span><\/em> in the city <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">quickly turned into a riot<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>The demonstrations were started <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">before the footage was released<\/span><\/em>, but <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">even after<\/span><\/em> it showed the suspect, Ricardo Munoz, charging at the Lancaster officer with a knife, prompting the officer to shoot as he ran away, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the riots continued<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Munoz had a criminal history of stabbing people<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> In 2019, he was\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pennlive.com\/news\/2019\/03\/man-stabbed-4-people-including-teen-after-fight-police.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"broken_link\">arrested<\/a><\/em><\/span>\u00a0<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">after stabbing four people multiple times<\/span><\/em>, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">including a 16-year-old boy<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>No word yet on when Biden and Harris will pay their respects to the grieving family.\u00a0 Oh, that&#8217;s right: <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">his mother<\/span><\/em> was the one Munoz <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">was threatening<\/span><\/em>!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Now, a little perspective&#8230;some food for thought as it were: First, back in the day, before being granted clearance to fire on a bogey or bandit,\u00a0the Navy&#8217;s ROE required (and <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">yes<\/span><\/em>, this was one of the <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">very few<\/span><\/em> aspects of the business\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/enhRwnkmToM?t=221\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\">Top Gun got right<\/span><\/em><\/a>!) the engaged aircraft must\u00a0<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">first<\/span><\/em> be <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">fired<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">upon<\/span><\/em>.\u00a0 However, there was no requirement, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">prior to returning fire<\/span><\/em>, the weapon employed by the enemy constituted a threat greater than what was available to the Navy aircrew.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hence, on August 19, 1981, when two Libyan Su-22s fired rear-quarter ATOLL missiles at two F-14As head-on prior to the merge over the Gulf of Sidra, the Tomcat pilots could assume their intentions were hostile, their actual thoughts or threat level notwithstanding.\u00a0 Needless to say, it did not end well for the Libyans.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Consider now the striking similarities between the Gulf of Sidra incident and what went down in Lancaster and Kenosha.\u00a0 Mr. Munoz, a career criminal, after his threats against his mother prompted his sister to call 911, attacked the responding officer with a knife.\u00a0 Jacob Blake, another career criminal, after threatening the mother of his four children in violation of a restraining order, physically assaulted the officers responding to a 911 call from said mother, then attempted to gain possession of a knife he&#8217;d already admitted was in his possession.\u00a0 Needless to say it did not end well for either Mr. Blake <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">or<\/span><\/em> Mr. Munoz.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>So,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>you<\/em><\/span> tell <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">us<\/span><\/em>: should the F-14A aircrews in the Gulf of Sidra allowed the Su-22s to maneuver to their six <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">before<\/span><\/em> splashing them?\u00a0 Likewise, should the law enforcement professionals in Lancaster and Kenosha allowed Ricardo Munoz and Jacob Blake to stab them, perhaps fatally, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">prior<\/span><\/em> to shooting them, the unquestioned superiority of their sidearms notwithstanding?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Here&#8217;s the juice: Jacob Blake should consider himself lucky he&#8217;s still above ground and breathing.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Oh,&#8230;and&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/speed.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-85400\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/speed.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"463\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/speed.png 420w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/speed-272x300.png 272w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Now, here&#8217;s <em>The Gouge<\/em>!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>We lead off the mid-week edition with a forward from Balls Cotton, as, writing at the <em>WaPo<\/em>,\u00a0<em>AEI<\/em>&#8216;s Danielle Pletka confesses, though&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"style=\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\" data-qa=\"headline\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/i-cant-stand-trump-but-democrats-may-force-me-to-vote-for-him\/2020\/09\/14\/1cf10518-f6c4-11ea-a275-1a2c2d36e1f1_story.html\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #333399; text-decoration: underline;\">I never considered voting for Trump in 2016, I may be forced to vote for him this year<\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #333399;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/4f3ut4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-85391\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/4f3ut4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/4f3ut4.jpg 420w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/4f3ut4-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"font--body font-copy gray-darkest ma-0 pb-md \" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;<span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>In <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">2016<\/span><\/em>, I <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">never considered<\/span><\/em> voting for Donald Trump. <span style=\"color: #008000;\">The Johnny-come-lately Republican and his nasty schoolyard jibes seemed to me the worst degradation of American politics.<\/span> But in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>2020<\/em><\/span>, I <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">may be forced<\/span><\/em> to vote for the man.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Hear me out<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>I don\u2019t need a bumper sticker or a lawn sign to convey <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>my distaste for Trump<\/em><\/span> \u2014 his odious tweets, his chronic mendacity and general crudeness.<span style=\"color: #008000;\"> Over the past four years, like an oil slick that besmirches all it touches, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Trump himself<\/span><\/em> has managed to obscure his administration\u2019s more-substantive accomplishments, such as focusing the world\u2019s attention on China\u2019s threat to global security and brokering a new era of\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" title=\"www.washingtonpost.com\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/2020\/09\/13\/middle-east-is-changing-will-palestinians-be-left-behind\/?itid=lk_inline_manual_5\" class=\"broken_link\">Middle East peace<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>. (<em>Though peace in the Middle East requires more than signatures affixed to pieces of paper&#8230;and the MSM hasn&#8217;t exactly been &#8220;trump&#8221;-eting his accomplishments!<\/em>)<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>I <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">fear<\/span><\/em> Trump\u2019s erratic, personality-driven decision-making. <span style=\"color: #008000;\">His contempt for<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" title=\"www.washingtonpost.com\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/trump-told-in-brussels-that-west-should-focus-on-values-not-only-interests\/2017\/05\/25\/7aa1865c-40cd-11e7-9869-bac8b446820a_story.html?itid=lk_inline_manual_7\" class=\"broken_link\">NATO<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #008000;\">is alarming, as is his delusion that he can manage\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" title=\"www.washingtonpost.com\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/the-fix\/wp\/2018\/03\/09\/trumps-seat-of-his-pants-style-and-lack-of-message-control-loom-over-meeting-with-kim-jong-un\/?itid=lk_inline_manual_7\" class=\"broken_link\">rogue leaders<\/a><\/em><\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>I don\u2019t doubt that his eagerness to withdraw U.S. troops from their stability missions in places such as Afghanistan and Iraq will encourage conflict and terrorism. <span style=\"color: #008000;\">And I fret that his bizarrely isolationist attitude toward international trade will hurt the U.S. economy and splinter the global trading juggernaut that over the past half-century has brought the world amazing prosperity, lifting hundreds of millions of people out of extreme poverty.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>But I <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">fear<\/span><\/em> the leftward lurch of the Democratic Party <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">even more<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8230;<\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">With Donald Trump, I <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">know<\/span><\/em> what I am getting.<\/span> He wears his sins on the outside. For good <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">and<\/span><\/em> ill, he runs his administration. <span style=\"color: #008000;\">I worry more about his incompetence and vacillation <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">than I do about any dictatorial tendencies<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> On <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the other side<\/span><\/em>, however, I am <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">increasingly persuaded that what I see in Joe Biden<\/span><\/em> \u2014 whom I first met in 1992, and whom I believe to be a decent person \u2014 <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">would merely be the facade for an administration, fully backed by both houses of Congress, with an agenda that would seriously damage the nation<\/span><\/em>. <span style=\"color: #008000;\">The <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">corrosive left-wing extremism of 2020 would be ascendant<\/span><\/em>, while a smiling President Biden assures the country that everything is fine.<\/span> Trump, for <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">all<\/span><\/em> his flaws, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">could be all that stands between our imperfect democracy and the tyranny of the woke left<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Two thoughts come immediately to mind: First, as when Cal Thomas sang the praises of Teddy Kennedy at his passing, we&#8217;d suggest Danielle Pletka either widen her circle of friends, or reconsider describing a serial liar, plagiarizer, character assassin and kleptocrat as a &#8220;decent person&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Second, as Kamala Harris&#8230;she of the manifestly Marxist manifesto and utterly idiotic giggle&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BXbPa73skxQ?start=150&amp;end=173&amp;\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8230;<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/GVbE8IowIcM\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">recently confessed what the organizational chart will look like<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/a>\u00a0should Progressives win the White House, Crazy Joe will be lucky to be given a stool and a drool cup, told to go find a corner of the Oval Office to sit in and shut up.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Here&#8217;s another squeeze of the juice, as relayed by the lovely Shannon:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/shannon-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-85398\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/shannon-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"451\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/shannon-2.png 420w, https:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/shannon-2-279x300.png 279w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>In a related item of Dimocratic Socialist reality, writing at <em>Public Discourse<\/em>, Matt Franck reveals&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"entry-title\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepublicdiscourse.com\/2020\/09\/71461\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000; text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600; text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000; text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #008000; text-decoration: underline;\">Racism Is Real. published in order to reschedule it when it could be \u201cbalanced\u201d by a view less challenging to the site\u2019s readers<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailygouge.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/john-cameron-jrCwROaQxt0-unsplash.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" Garner observes in\u00a0<em>Garner\u2019s Modern English Usage<\/em>, there is a <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">substantial difference<\/span><\/em> between the words \u201c<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">systematic<\/span><\/em>\u201d and \u201c<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">systemic<\/span><\/em>.\u201d<\/span> Something\u00a0<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">systematic<\/span>\u00a0<\/em>has been \u201ccarried out according to an organized plan,\u201d or represents a \u201chabitual, deliberate\u201d pattern of behavior. <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">American chattel slavery<\/span><\/em> was <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">systematic racism<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">So was Jim Crow<\/span><\/em>. <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">So<\/span><\/em>, in a softer and less obvious way, say its critics, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">is affirmative action<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>But a thing is\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>systemic<\/em><\/span>\u00a0if it affects or is a feature (Garner again) \u201c<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">of an entire system<\/span><\/em>; <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">systemwide<\/span><\/em>.\u201d <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">Notice that <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">no personal agency is required<\/span><\/em>, or indeed <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">is any part<\/span><\/em>, of a <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">systemic phenomenon<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">And there\u2019s the beauty of systemic-racism theory<\/span><\/em>: \u201cwho\u2019s to blame\u201d <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">is never answered<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> with any particularity that will fix responsibility on known persons<\/span><\/em>, for <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> answer is<\/span><\/em> \u201cwhy, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">everyone<\/span><\/em>!\u201d <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What could be more impervious to contrary evidence than a wholly impersonal conspiracy theory about human behavior<\/span><\/em>?<\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>And what could be more impervious to existing evidence than the fact Dimocrats were <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">almost exclusively responsible<\/span><\/em> for <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not only<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">American chattel slavery<\/span><\/em>, but <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Jim Crow<\/span><\/em>&#8230;not to mention <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Affirmative Action<\/span><\/em>, and all <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">its<\/span><\/em> accompanying evils.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Since we&#8217;re on them while passing community members put out the other three.<\/span> All were caught early. <span style=\"color: #800000;\">No one was injured and no structures were burnt.<\/span> Officers located
