text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\">FBI &amp; Mueller received Trump transition records from GSA in secret<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/h1>\n<h3 class=\"sub-headline speakable\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8220;<a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/fbi-mueller-received-trump-transition-records-from-gsa-in-secret-senate-report\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">This conduct undermines the GSA\u2019s role as a neutral provider of services to presidential transition teams,&#8221; FBI and special counsel \u201c<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">secretly sought and received access to the private records of Donald J. Trump\u2019s presidential transition team<\/span><\/em>, Trump for America, Inc.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>It noted that <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Obama appointee Denise Turner Roth<\/span><\/em> was administrator of the GSA until Timothy Horne was appointed as acting administrator on Inauguration Day in 2017.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The report said <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">even after<\/span><\/em> the transition team learned about the secret preservation request <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the GSA refused to give the Trump team a copy of its own records<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> \u201cInstead, after <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">denying the Trump transition team<\/span><\/em> its basic legal rights to control its own information, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">including<\/span><\/em> the opportunity to protect privileged or confidential information, the GSA turned those same records over to the Special Counsel <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">without requiring any legal process, such as a subpoena or warrant<\/span><\/em>,\u201d it said<\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Which certainly provides a more specific answer to the question we posed in our opening as to who would be terrified by Trump restoring the rule of law.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Since we&#8217;re on the subject of what <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">should<\/span><\/em> be considered criminal misconduct and corruption, the <em>WSJ<\/em>&#8216;s Kim Strassel relates&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"wsj-article-headline\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/the-biden-family-legacy-11603409528\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/news\/biden-declares-he-would-transition-america-away-from-oil-industry-during-debate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">I would transition from the oil industry, yes<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>,\u201d he said.<\/span> To put an exclamation point on it, he <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">agreed with Trump<\/span><\/em> that this \u201c<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">is a big statement<\/span><\/em>.\u201d <span style=\"color: #333399;\">Shortly after the debate,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>just how big<\/em><\/span>\u00a0this statement was <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">began to sink in<\/span><\/em>, so <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Biden went into damage control mode<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> He insisted he had just been talking about \u201c<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/emilyelarsen\/status\/1319490260938665985?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">getting rid of subsidies for fossil fuels<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>.\u201d <span style=\"color: #333399;\">But <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">that<\/span><\/em> was <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not true<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> As the several Biden and Kamala Harris statements in Trump\u2019s tweet demonstrate, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the Democratic ticket made their jihad against fossil fuels clear and unqualified<\/span><\/em>, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">time and again<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Second, and relatedly, there is the false thing that Biden said: He claimed he had never indicated he would ban fracking.<\/span> To the contrary, he has said he\u2019d get rid of fracking\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/biden-claimed-he-never-wanted-ban-fracking-he-did-1541552\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">several times<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>; and Kamala Harris \u2014 <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">before<\/span><\/em> she started insisting, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">with a straight face<\/span><\/em>, that Biden had been \u201cvery clear\u201d that he <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">would not<\/span><\/em> ban fracking \u2014 was <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">herself emphatic in proclaiming the dogmatic Democratic Party position<\/span><\/em>: \u201c<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=8VNkA1CYC8k\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">There\u2019s no question, I\u2019m in favor of banning fracking<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">If you check out that brief clip of Senator Harris that I just linked, notice \u2014 it\u2019s impossible <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not<\/span><\/em> to notice \u2014 the <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">cheering crowd<\/span><\/em> at the <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">gleefully progressive CNN town hall<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> It will zero you in on the problem Biden-Harris faces: <em>To get to the general election<\/em>, they had to <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">win the nomination<\/span><\/em> of a party <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>whose verve and lots of whose money is on the far left<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">That <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">unavoidably involves<\/span><\/em> the <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">advocacy of lunatic positions that cannot be defended before the country writ large<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> They <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">must now lie about what they\u2019ve previously endorsed<\/span><\/em>, making them <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">seem even worse to the people who already opposed them<\/span><\/em> and <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">untrustworthy to the Left\u2019s true believers whose enthusiastic support they need<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">It reminded me, again, of\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline; She said she\u2019d vote for it&#8230;so then Bret walked her through its individual elements (full transition off fossil fuels, net-zero greenhouse emissions, paying people who won\u2019t work, refurbishing every building in the U.S.), and she wouldn\u2019t agree with any of them. <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Senator Klobuchar is smart and willing to work across party lines to address problems, so she\u2019s more effective than most congressional Democrats.<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong> But she wanted to run for president, and knew she would not be viable as a Democratic candidate unless she voiced support for something she manifestly knew was batty.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">That is where Joe Biden is right now.<\/span> He will rely on the media to obfuscate the deals he had to cut with the hard left to get the nomination \u2014 and rely on the hard left to bite its tongue to serve the mutual objective of defeating Trump. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">But he\u2019s going to have a hard time, because the Left has forced Democratic aspirants to take clearly spoken, easy to grasp, crazy positions.<\/span> On fossil fuels, fracking, and elements of the Green New Deal, there is no easy retreat for Biden into, say, the minutiae of complex legislation like Obamacare; there\u2019s no redefining the terms of his prior positions (as Democrats have tried to do, unsuccessfully, with
