It’s Friday, January 22nd, 2021…but before we begin, submitted for your perusal, a couple inconsistent headlines.\u00a0 First,\u00a0FOX<\/em>\u00a0reports…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Biden makes appeal to Trump supporters in plea for unity<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/h1>\n

…at which point the increasingly Left-leaning network almost immediately informs us…<\/strong><\/p>\n

President Biden signs executive orders reversing 17 Trump policies, including terror state travel ban and border wall construction<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Though, as the WSJ’s Kim Strassel reports<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/a>, another<\/span><\/em> of Biden’s first priorities, demanding the resignation, under threat of termination, of Peter Robb, general counsel to the National Labor Relations Board, truly tells you all you need to know about Groper Joe’s plans for America’s future:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“…Within minutes<\/span><\/em> of Mr. Biden\u2019s swearing-in, and as the new president told the nation it needed to \u201cbe better<\/span><\/em>,\u201d the new<\/span><\/em> White House delivered Mr. Robb an ultimatum: resign by 5 p.m., or be fired<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The general-counsel position is a Senate-confirmed four-year appointment at an independent agency<\/span><\/em>; Mr. Robb had 10 months left<\/span><\/em> in his term.<\/span> No<\/span><\/em> NLRB general counsel had ever been fired<\/span><\/em>, and the Biden White House provided no cause for the action<\/span><\/em>. Mr. Robb pointed all this out in a return letter and respectfully declined to step down<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> So Mr. Biden (\u201cwe must end this uncivil war\u201d) canned him<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

For four years<\/span><\/em>, the media and Democrats cast every action of the Trump administration as something law-breaking or verging on a constitutional crisis<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> This week\u2019s headlines, by contrast, were a mass media celebration of the return to \u201cnormalcy<\/span><\/em>.\u201d Mr. Biden ran on, and won on, a promise to restore norms<\/span><\/em> to Washington.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Robb firing illustrates the falsehood<\/span><\/em> of both<\/span><\/em> those narratives.<\/span> For all Mr. Trump\u2019s bad manners, his administration\u2019s actions<\/span><\/em> were largely by the book<\/span><\/em>. Mr. Trump never fired Richard Griffin, Barack Obama\u2019s NLRB general counsel, who served nine months to the end of his term in 2017.<\/span> For all the talk<\/span><\/em> of Mr. Biden as the embodiment of gentlemanly politics<\/span><\/em>, Democrats have no intention<\/span><\/em> of playing by the rules<\/strong><\/span>…”<\/p>\n

So much for unity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Though, as Jim Freeman records at Best of the Web<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/a>, there’s one aspect<\/span><\/em> of the Biden presidency on which you\u00a0can depend<\/span><\/em>: the MSM’s total dedication to whitewashing its reality, which will rival the propaganda Pravda<\/em> served up while concealing the utter failure which was the former Soviet Union.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

That and the fact Chris Wallace is an even bigger horse’s ass than his dead dad.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now, here’s The Gouge<\/em>!<\/strong><\/p>\n

We lead off the end of the week courtesy of Powerline<\/em> via\u00a0<\/strong>Tom Bakke, as Paul Mirengoff asks and answers the question whether Conservatives should…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Resist Joe Biden<\/span><\/span><\/a>?<\/span><\/h1>\n

“After Barack Obama was elected in 2008, I wrote a\u00a0column<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>\u00a0for the Washington Examiner (also published on Power Line) about how conservatives should respond to and cope with the Obama presidency. It was a high-minded piece that included such advice as \u201cpray that President Obama achieves greatness in office\u201d and \u201cdon\u2019t assume that Obama is always wrong.\u201d (Yours truly, and we know our columns from the time will bear this out, was never<\/span> under such a misconception of who Barack Obama was or what he was about<\/em>.)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The column wasn\u2019t easy for me to write. Not after witnessing the way Democrats and media treated George W. Bush for eight years.<\/span> However, I believed what I wrote and tried to follow my advice during the Obama presidency.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Twelve years later, I believe conservatives should take a very different approach<\/span><\/em> to the Biden presidency.<\/span> The notion of Biden achieving greatness<\/span><\/em> in office is too absurd to pray for<\/span><\/em>. We should hope<\/em><\/span>, more modestly, that nothing terrible happens on Biden\u2019s watch<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> If something terrible happens<\/span><\/em>, that would be bad for our country<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We should also hope<\/span><\/em> that Biden\u2019s presidency is<\/span><\/em>\u00a0unsuccessful<\/em><\/span>\u00a0because if<\/span><\/em> Biden is<\/span><\/em> successful, that too<\/em><\/span> would be bad for America<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> Biden and his team want to transform America radically. If they succeed, America will be weaker, poorer, less safe, less well-educated, less patriotic, less free, less fair, and less colorblind (and therefore more racist).<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

These are the stakes<\/span><\/em>. They require forceful<\/span><\/em> (but non-violent<\/em><\/span>), relentless<\/span><\/em> (but lawful<\/em><\/span>) opposition to Joe Biden<\/span><\/em>. In that sense, they call for something like<\/span><\/em> resistance.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I also believe that conservatives should always presume<\/span><\/em> that Biden is wrong<\/em><\/span>. That presumption should be rebuttable.<\/span> If examination of a particular Biden policy or personnel move shows it to be meritorious<\/span><\/em>, we should<\/span><\/em>, of course, conclude that it is<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

But there are good reasons why<\/span><\/em> the presumption should always<\/span><\/em> run against<\/span><\/em> Biden \u2014 why he should never<\/span><\/em> be given the benefit of the doubt<\/strong><\/span>…”<\/p>\n

Here’s the juice: We haven’t given this hypocritical corruptocrat the benefit of the doubt since we first became acquainted with his penchant for perfidy through his lead role in the character assassination of Robert Bork.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thus our opinion of the * President is the same as that held (wholly inaccurately) by Marshall Thibido of the dying gunfighter John Bernard Books in The Shootist<\/em>:<\/strong><\/p>\n
