style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">the CDC revises the minimum safe distance<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/a> we were <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">heretofore assured<\/span><\/em> was <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">absolutely necessary<\/span><\/em> for our <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>very survival<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0 As TLJ observed, isn&#8217;t 3&#8242; about the distance kids sat apart in schools <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>pre-scamdemic<\/em><\/span>?\u00a0 Which tells <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>us<\/em><\/span>, nothing having really changed regarding COVID and children in the past year, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">please<\/span><\/em> stand up?<\/span> I have something I want to say to you \u2014 to us.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">We grew up in a country that <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">didn\u2019t<\/span><\/em> ban books.<\/span> We <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">all agreed<\/span><\/em> that witch hunts and blacklists <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">were bad<\/span><\/em>. <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Censorship<\/span><\/em> was an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>outrage<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> The 1980s were not that long ago. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">Don\u2019t act like you don\u2019t know what I\u2019m talking about.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>So obviously <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">we\u2019ve got a problem here<\/span><\/em>. <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Everybody<\/span><\/em> can see it.<\/span> <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Everybody knows<\/span><\/em> where it\u2019s heading. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">What we <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">don\u2019t have<\/span><\/em> \u2014 yet \u2014 is a group of people who are <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">willing to do something about it<\/span><\/em>.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I nominate us<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8230;<\/span><strong>Gen X needs to realize something: <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Nobody is going to ride to the rescue<\/span><\/em>. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">Harrison Ford isn\u2019t going to show up in the final act to save the day.<\/span> <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">No politician or celebrity<\/span><\/em> is capable of turning back the woke millennial tide with a sharp tweet or a snappy speech.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">The <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">cavalry is us<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">We<\/span><\/em> are the ones who have to fight the cancel culture (rhetorically, of course). <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">We<\/span><\/em> will have to engage in a thousand tiny battles every day and it will be terribly uncomfortable.<\/span> <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">It\u2019ll be hard<\/span><\/em> standing up to school administrators pushing an \u201canti-racist\u201d curriculum on your kids. <span style=\"color: #333399;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">It\u2019ll take real courage<\/span><\/em> to refuse to call yourself a bigot and to denounce the people who raised you.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">If we can\u2019t find the guts to do this dirty job, the second half of our lives is going to look very different than the first half did<\/span><\/em>. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">We <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>will<\/em><\/span> taste life in Siberia.<\/span> Our children and our children\u2019s children <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>will<\/em><\/span> be forced to navigate a miserable, paranoid world of lies and deception. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">They <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>will<\/em><\/span> be asked to spy on their own parents.<\/span> They <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>will<\/em><\/span> denounce their friends.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Don\u2019t let it happen<\/span><\/em>.<\/span> We are a generation <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">with a certain set of skills<\/span><\/em>. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">We <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>can<\/em><\/span> read a map.<\/span> We <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>can<\/em><\/span> tell time on an analog clock. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">We <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>can<\/em><\/span> get along just fine <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>without<\/em><\/span> social media.<\/span> And we know deep down that sticks and stones can break your bones <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>but words can never hurt you<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">The most important thing about us is that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>we remember how things used to be<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> How it was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not to be afraid to speak your mind<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">As the Shawshank man said, you either <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">get busy living<\/span><\/em>, or <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">get busy dying<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What we included above is just the introduction and the conclusion: There&#8217;s <em><span style=\"text-decoration: air their anger, sadness, fear and hopelessness.<\/span> The hashtag #StopAsianHate was a top trending topic on Twitter hours after the shootings that happened Tuesday evening.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">&#8220;I think the reason why people are feeling so hopeless is because Asian Americans have been <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ringing the bell<\/span><\/em> on this issue for so long&#8230;<\/span>We\u2019ve been <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">raising the red flag<\/span><\/em>,&#8221; said Aisha Yaqoob Mahmood, executive director of the Atlanta-based Asian American Advocacy Fund, which does political and advocacy work across Georgia.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Many<\/span><\/em> were <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">also outraged<\/span><\/em> that the suspect,\u00a021-year-old Robert Aaron Long<a style=\"color: #800000;\" style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>was not racially motivated<\/em><\/span>, and he claimed that he targeted the spas because of a &#8220;sex addiction.&#8221; <span style=\"color:
