confounded by the contrast between<\/strong><strong>\u00a0the&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"postid-18063202\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/04\/24\/old-joe-biden-vs-new-joe-biden-goodwin\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #999999; text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #333399; text-decoration: underline;\">Old Joe Biden vs. New Joe Biden<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a underline;\"><em>press<\/em><\/span> takes him <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>literally<\/em><\/span>, but <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not seriously<\/em><\/span>; his <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">supporters<\/span><\/em> take him <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>seriously<\/em><\/span>, but <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not literally<\/em><\/span>.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #999999;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Now comes <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>another<\/em><\/span> presidential dilemma: <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>What to make<\/em><\/span> of the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>new and radical<\/em><\/span> Joe Biden?\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">On the surface, it seems an odd question about a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>78-year-old man<\/em><\/span> who has spent <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>nearly 50 years in Washington<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #333399;\">But the new Biden, the President Biden, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>doesn\u2019t sound and act<\/em><\/span> like the former senator and vice president.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #999999;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">In fact, this Biden is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>so dramatically different<\/em><\/span> that it\u2019s not clear if we should take him <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>either seriously or literally<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #333399;\">The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>old<\/em><\/span> Biden was a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>windbag who wouldn\u2019t shut up<\/em><\/span>, the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>new<\/em><\/span> Biden is a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>silent Sam<\/em><\/span>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/biden-cuts-off-press-questions-trouble-answering\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>especially when it comes to answering press questions<\/em><\/span><\/a>.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">He <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>ducks, dodges, hides and mumbles<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Who the hell <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>is<\/em><\/span> this guy?<\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Second, as\u00a0<em>NRO<\/em>&#8216;s Kevin Williamson relates, whoever he is, and regardless of which version of The Groper ends up on top, America&#8217;s the clear loser&#8230;and Xi Jinping the unquestioned winner&#8230;in any contest pitting&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/the-tuesday\/joe-bidens-executive-incoherence\/?utm_source=Sailthru&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=TUE_20210427&amp;utm_term=Tuesday-Smart\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000; text-decoration: underline;\">Biden vs. Biden<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gHxi-HSgNPc?start=1&amp;end=11&amp;\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;&#8230;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>That the Biden administration should be\u00a0<em>incoherent<\/em>\u00a0is the least surprising development so far of 2021 \u2014 Joe Biden himself is generally incoherent on a personal level. <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/GTHmQQFeYZw?t=7\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Biden\u2019s incoherence is not<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/a> (contra the popular right-wing talking point)\u00a0<span style=\"color: #008000;\">(<em>a conclusion with which we respectfully&#8230;and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">vehemently<\/span>&#8230;disagree!<\/em>)<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/GTHmQQFeYZw?t=7\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">mainly the result of his advanced age or the state of his mental acuity<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/a> \u2014 he has been a little bit dim and a little bit all over the place for the entirety of his very, very long career in public office, since he was a young man, <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">because he is a creature of pure self-serving opportunism without a moral center or real principles<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>It would be easy to call him a weathervane, but a weathervane is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>anchored on something and centered<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">President Biden is more like that plastic bag blowing around in\u00a0<em>American Beauty<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 empty, lightweight, subject to the moment\u2019s prevailing wind.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;<span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">What <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">is<\/span><\/em> remarkable is that while Lincoln, Roosevelt, and Reagan were able to exercise leadership on <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">genuinely controversial issues<\/span><\/em>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Joe Biden is overmatched by an issue about which there is an effectively universal consensus regarding outcome<\/em><\/span>: Nobody\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>wants<\/em><\/span>\u00a0the coronavirus epidemic to continue, and, aside for a few kooks in the \u201cvoluntary human extinction\u201d movement, there <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>is no\u00a0pro<\/em><\/span>-coronavirus faction.<\/span> But on such <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>practical matters<\/em><\/span> as workplace rules relating to COVID-19, the administration is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>unable to move forward in a direct and timely way<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Faced with the thorny cultural politics of vaccine refusal, President Biden\u2019s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>big, bold idea<\/em><\/span> is&#8230;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>paid time off<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> It is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>remarkable<\/em><\/span> how many social problems Biden and Biden-style Democrats <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>believe can be addressed with paid time off or higher wages for government workers<\/em><\/span> \u2014 paid time off <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>is now<\/em><\/span>, according to the Biden administration, \u201c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>infrastructure<\/em><\/span>,\u201d <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>of all ridiculous things<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Perhaps<\/em><\/span> President Biden can free-stuff his way through the rest of the coronavirus epidemic.<\/span> He <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>stepped into<\/em><\/span> a situation that was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>about as encouraging as could be expected<\/em><\/span> \u2014 the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>vaccines were <\/em><em>good-to-go<\/em><\/span> and the <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">economic recovery already was under way<\/span><\/em> \u2014 <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">but<\/span><\/em>, even with <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>that<\/em><\/span> great advantage, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>his administration acts as though it is in a constant state of low-level panic<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">And so <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>expectations should be modest indeed<\/em><\/span> for the Biden administration\u2019s work on the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>much more difficult issue of China<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> The epidemic has been awful <span style=\"color: #008000;\">(<em>not <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">really<\/span>, at least not <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">here<\/span>.<\/em>)<\/span>, but <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>the virus does not have 350 nuclear warheads and something north of $1 trillion of U.S. public debt in its portfolio<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>And Xi Jinping <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>is not<\/em><\/span> looking for <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">paid time off<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Which makes the timing of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realcleardefense.com\/articles\/2021\/04\/27\/the_air_force_is_about_to_lower_its_already_low_standards_774596.html\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>the Air Farce&#8217;s latest capitulation to the forces of social engineering and political correctness all the more<\/em><\/span><\/a>&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FrJuFuAmx6c?start=0&amp;end=2&amp;\" width=\"420\" height=\"235\" frameborder=\"0\" that the Left <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>now<\/em><\/span> feels about the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>First Amendment<\/em><\/span> the same way it always <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>despised the Second<\/em><\/span>?)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>The ultimate premise of disparate impact is not <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>proof of ongoing systemic racism and discrimination<\/em><\/span>, but rather <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>the fumes of racism from the pre-Civil rights era<\/em><\/span>: a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>white generation<\/em><\/span>, which <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>grew up during affirmative action<\/em><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>supposedly<\/em><\/span> exercises <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>unearned<\/em><\/span> privilege, as a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>non-white generation claims the prejudices shown its parents<\/em><\/span>, but <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>more likely<\/em><\/span> its <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>grandparents<\/em><\/span>, justify reparatory action <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>for themselves<\/em><\/span>\u2014as <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>class vanishes entirely<\/em><\/span> in the matrix.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>The result is predictable: multi-millionaires like Oprah and Megan Markel nurse their hurts on air, presumably and indirectly, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>inflicted by the culture of those devious deplorable mechanics in Elko and car salesmen of York<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">I suggest we <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">end<\/span><\/em> the term \u201cwhite people.\u201d<\/span> Better is: \u201ccertain\u201d white people\u2014given those of the middle and lower classes <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>have little in common with white elites<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">In a reductionist sense, so much of the hatred of the Left is a thinly disguised attack <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not on \u201cwhite people<\/em><\/span>\u201d, but on <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>supposedly less hip, not cool and hardly \u201csuccessful\u201d white people whom the left brands as deplorables, irredeemables, chumps, clingers, Neanderthals, and dregs<\/em><\/span>, to quote our three illustrious and tolerant wise men
