Republic hung in the balance, Trump attorneys <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/528508-pro-trump-attorneys-tell-georgians-not-to-vote-in-runoff-until-votes-are\" class=\"broken_link\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Lin Wood and Sydney Powell inexplicably AGAIN<\/em>\u00a0<em>urged Georgians not vote<\/em><\/span><\/a>, effectively handing two critical seats to the Socialists.\u00a0 And now it appears The Donald wants to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>once more<\/em><\/span> run the same losing play.<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>As Jim Geraghty noted:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>&#8220;What constitutes \u201csolving\u201d the \u201cPresidential Election Fraud of 2020\u201d? Voter ID laws? Poll-watchers?\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2021\/06\/maggie-haberman-is-right\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reinstating Trump as president, as he apparently fantasizes<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>?&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In the Monday, October 18th edition of <em>The Gouge<\/em>, we noted\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/columnists\/kurtschlichter\/2021\/10\/14\/be-glad-about-pompeos-doomed-primary-challenge-to-trump-n2597350\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>Kurt Schlichter<\/em><\/span><\/a> conditioned his prediction Mike Pompeo&#8217;s presidential bid was already doomed on the fact Trump <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>would learn<\/em><\/span> from his prior, unforced errors, including continuing to claim the 2020 election was stolen.\u00a0 If Trump&#8217;s keep-down-the-vote strategy costs Republicans the House in 2022, Pompeo&#8217;s looking <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>better and better<\/em><\/span> in 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Next, courtesy of\u00a0<em>Townhall.com<\/em>, Derek Hunter confesses&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 class=\"headline\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;<span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Empathy is an important human emotion, but sometimes people keep repeating the same stupid mistakes that make it <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>nearly impossible<\/em><\/span> to continue to give a damn about them. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Someone suffering severe headaches, for example, can cause a serious empathetic response from people, but that goes away quickly, and likely forever, if you discover that person continually hits themselves in the head with two-by-four.<\/span> There comes a certain point when any emotion \u2013 empathy, sympathy, whatever \u2013 becomes counterproductive. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">When it comes to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Democrat voter groups<\/em><\/span>, I\u2019m <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>long past<\/em><\/span> that point.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>The odds of you knowing someone who is or was self-destructive are pretty high. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">I\u2019ve known plenty \u2013 people who drink too much, someone who smokes too much, steals, cheats, whatever \u2013 hell, I\u2019ve been many of those things when I was younger too.<\/span> People grow out of it or become consumed by it, very few maintain it throughout their lives. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">But <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>sometimes<\/em><\/span>, it\u2019s a mentality <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>passed on from generation to generation<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> That\u2019s how I view people who vote for Democrats in major cities across the country.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">In college, I lived in Dearborn, Michigan.<\/span> Where I lived was represented in Congress by John Dingell. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">He represented the district <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>since the Earth cooled<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>First elected<\/em><\/span> in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>1955<\/em><\/span>, he <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>finally retired<\/em><\/span> in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>2015<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Before him<\/em><\/span>, that district was represented by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>John Dingell Sr.<\/em><\/span>, from <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>1933 till 1955<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> Upon <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Dingell Jr.\u2019s retirement<\/em><\/span>, the district was represented by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Debbie Dingell<\/em><\/span>, John\u2019s <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>widow<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">When John Jr. was contemplating retirement, all the talk was about who would replace him: his wife, or his son Christopher, because <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>all that matters is that last name<\/em><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>not<\/em><\/span> ability, character, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>anything<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> So when <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Debbie<\/em><\/span> leaves\u2026<i class=\"fa fa-arrow-circle-right\"><\/i><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Some of the district isn\u2019t bad, some of it is.<\/span> But in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>all<\/em> <\/span>of it you can see the remnants of what <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>once was<\/em><\/span>, back when Detroit was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>the economic engine of the country<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Democrats had power in the region <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>that whole time<\/em><\/span>, having a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>monopoly<\/em><\/span> on the Mayor\u2019s office <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>starting in January 1962<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> The shell of what remains <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>should<\/em><\/span> serve as a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>reminder of the failures of unfettered liberal policies<\/em><\/span>, and maybe it does\u2026<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>but it hasn\u2019t made a difference in anyone\u2019s voting habits<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>No<\/em><\/span> level of crime, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>no<\/em><\/span> spike in violence or <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>depth<\/em><\/span> of economic depression <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>has shaken the loyalties of Detroit voters from their Democrat masters<\/em><\/span>.<\/span> The complete and generational failure of the education system <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>hasn\u2019t done a damn thing either<\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Nothing<\/em><\/span> will<\/span><\/strong><\/span>&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Hunter&#8217;s attitude, which we happen to share, reminds us of one of our favorite <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>moral degeneracy<\/em><\/span>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Which is why <em>NRO<\/em>&#8216;s Kevin Williamson, in an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>absolutely must-read commentary<\/em><\/span>, describes them as an unholy blend of\u00a0<\/strong><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><em>The Pillage href=\"https:\/\/amp.cnn.com\/cnn\/2021\/10\/09\/business\/grocery-stores-food-supply-chain\/index.html?__twitter_impression=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a lengthy article<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>\u00a0entitled \u201cGrocery store shelves <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>aren\u2019t going back to normal this year<\/em><\/span>.\u201d <span day this will all end: \u201cIf you hoped grocery stores this fall and winter would look like they did in the Before Times, with\u00a0limitless options\u00a0stretching out before you in the snack, drink, candy and frozen foods aisles, get ready for some disappointing news.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The Before Times \u2014 is that <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">before the pandemic<\/span><\/em>, or <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>before socialist
