text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/01\/23\/kyle-rittenhouse-must-avoid-white-supremacists-guns-booze-judge\/\">a white supremacist<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/span>\u00a0whose mother drove him across state lines with an AR-15 to shoot Black Lives Matter protesters.<\/span> <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">All lies<\/span><\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>\u201cA white, Trump-supporting, MAGA-loving Blue Lives Matter social media partisan, 17 years old, picks up a gun, drives from one state to another with the intent to shoot people,\u201d\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">White House recruited progressive operatives of a school-board association<\/a>\u00a0to collaborate on a letter to the president, almost immediately after which #333399;\"><strong>But <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>did<\/em><\/span> Garland go beyond the usual bobbing and weaving when confronted by Congress on the Biden administration\u2019s threats? <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Did<\/em><\/span> he commit perjury when he <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">insisted<\/span><\/em> that the government <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">has not and would not<\/span><\/em> employ anti-terrorism investigative measures against America\u2019s parents?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Well, it <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>depends on the meaning<\/em><\/span> of \u201cthreat tag.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8230;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>I will end by <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">repeating<\/span><\/em> what I thought was the defining tactic of the Obama\u2013Biden administration because it has become the MO of the Biden administration:\u00a0<em>threats to take unconstitutional actions<\/em>\u00a0<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">and<\/span><\/em>\u00a0<em>exploitation of investigative <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>about to do something<\/em><\/span> they are <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not allowed to do<\/span><\/em> \u2014 essentially saying, \u201cWe <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>dare<\/em><\/span> you to stop us,\u201d because they calculate that <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Congress has<\/em> <em>no such will<\/em><\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>courts have no such means<\/em><\/span> \u2014 it <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">changes<\/span><\/em> the facts on the ground.<\/span> It <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>paralyzes people in the exercise of their rights<\/em><\/span> \u2014 which are\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>rights<\/em><\/span>\u00a0rather than\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>aspirations<\/em><\/span>\u00a0because they are <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">supposed to be immune from government abuse<\/span><\/em>. <span style=\"color: #333399;\">Presidential administrations don\u2019t actually have to follow through on their threats most of the time.<\/span> They know you have to assume they\u2019re serious, and, if called on their machinations, they still want to be able to say, in high dudgeon, \u201c<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">How<\/span><\/em> could you <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">accuse us<\/span><\/em> of such a thing?\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">This<\/span><\/em> is how progressive government <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>suffocates a vibrant likely to end his bid to replace Texas Gov. Greg Abbott as a three-time loser.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Despite this, he will soak up plenty of buzz and money along the way\u2014which is good for O\u2019Rourke and bad for Democrats.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8230;<\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>This is a structural problem for Democrats, who have a 78-year-old president whose approval rating is less than half his age, and a bench full of once-rising stars who made the same political calculations O\u2019Rourke made, and now seem more like tired retreads.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Consider the field: Kamala Harris seems better equipped to star in a reboot of HBO\u2019s\u00a0<em>Veep<\/em>\u00a0than to make a good presidential\u00a0<em>candidate,<\/em>\u00a0much less\u00a0<em>president.<\/em>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Her political skills are non-existent.<\/span> Cory Booker, who probably has even less authenticity\u2014<em>Je ne sais quoi<\/em>?\u2014than O\u2019Rourke and Harris, is now\u00a0headed to New Hampshire\u00a0to headline a fundraiser. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">All of them remind me of parents trying their darndest to be cool.<\/span> They are all what the kids call \u201ccheugy.\u201d <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And who\u2019s the more authentic moderate alternative?<\/span>\u00a0Pete Buttigieg? <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Don\u2019t get me started.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Of course, the\u00a0<em>other<\/em>\u00a0alternative is Donald Trump\u2014which demonstrates why Democrats\u2019 lack of depth is so perilous. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">At moments of crisis throughout American history, the right leader\u2014Lincoln, FDR, Reagan\u2014usually emerges.<\/span> Well, it feels like we are overdue for just such a savior. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And frankly, I can\u2019t think of anyone on either side of the aisle who has the moral authority, the vision, or the charisma to fit the bill.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Think of it.
