It’s Monday, April 18th, Tax Day 2016…your last chance to render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s…assuming you wish to avoid any additional penalties and interest!

But before we begin, another series of pictures, this time from Chris Muir and Day by Day, worth many thousands of words:

lo

Just as this Administration keeps using words anyone with a clue knows don’t mean what they claim them to mean.  And, more importantly, just as these feckless fools keep promoting foreign policy “successes” anyone with half a clue knows represent abject and utter defeat…unless of course the goal is the complete and utter humiliation of America, and the fatal weakening of her position as the world’s bastion of freedom and arsenal of democracy.

Now, here’s The Gouge!

First up, we know this will come as a shock, so hold tight to your free college tuition and health care, EBT cards, welfare checks and other various and sundry government giveaways as Townhall.com‘s Matt Vespa details…

Sanders Supporters Want Free Stuff From Government, But They Don’t Want To Pay For It

8deba37caecd6fcda41ff318e26d5ff5

Typical leftists–they want free stuff, but they don’t want to pay for it. In a poll conducted by Vox and Morning Consult during the first week in April, they found that supporters for Sen. Bernie Sanders unsurprisingly have strong support for things like free college tuition and universal health care. They register at 70+ percent in favor for both initiatives. Then, the question turns to how much are they willing to pay for Sanders’ agenda. This is where support dips dramatically, especially when two in three Bernie-ites don’t want to pay more than $1,000 for a single-payer health care system. Furthermore, the amount that Sanders supporters are willing to pay for this socialist utopia doesn’t cover the costs that this disheveled democratic socialist has in store for the country…”

Here’s the juice: no amount of education can ever make up for a basic understanding of economics…not to mention a complete lack of common sense!

Speaking of a complete lack of common sense, Hope n’ Change memorialized the Pope having evidently spent a brief bit of his Weekend with Bernie:

Cirque du Solei Cancels North Carolina Shows Over Public Facilities Act — Plans Shows In Dubai, Where Gays Are Put to Death

“Cirque du Soleil strongly believes in diversity and equality for every individual and is opposed to discrimination in any form,” the group announced Friday in a press release. “The new HB2 legislation passed in North Carolina is an important regression to ensuring human rights for all.”

The world-famous circus, however, has not canceled its upcoming performances in the United Arab Emirates of Dubai.

Indeed, Cirque du Solei has a planned production, Varekai, scheduled to run from September 16 to 24 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The United Arab Emirates of Dubai has outlawed same-sex marriage, sex or gender reassignment surgery, adoption by same-sex couples, openly gay and lesbian military service, with the aforementioned being punishable by death, fines, or imprisonment…”

Gee: “death, fines, or imprisonment”…or being required, in the interests of common decency, to use the lavatory or locker room your plumbing-at-birth dictates.

To borrow a phrase from the infamous Mr. Anderson…

How White Castle Will Adjust to a $15 Minimum Wage in New York

“…Richardson says — and common sense dictates — that if menu prices at fast-food chains shoot up by anywhere near 50 percent, many people will stop eating out as much, replacing trips to White Castle with trips to the grocery store. Customers can always vote with their feet and their dollars.

But thinking through the implications of raising prices to cover increased costs, which could reduce sales, isn’t what irks Richardson the most: To him and to White Castle, New York’s minimum-wage hike is a threat to a culture of opportunity in the neighborhoods that they have always called home.

“Candidly, this could create a whole generation of kids who won’t get their first job,” Richardson laments. “We’re in tough neighborhoods — and White Castle hasn’t abandoned those neighborhoods. On the surface, higher pay seems noble, but it’s notbecause it denies the reality of the free-enterprise framework that has allowed small businesses like ours to thrive.”…”

The Left: TRULY the very embodiment of Einstein’s definition of insanity!

Moving from the embodiment of insanity to a course to end it, in the Down East edition of News from the Great White North courtesy today of Townhall.com, Christine Rousselle tells us how…

Maine Legislators Unanimously Pass Bill Banning the Use of EBT Cash Purchases For Alcohol, Lottery Tickets, and Cigarettes

liquor-ebt

The Maine legislature has unanimously passed a bill that would prohibit the use of EBT cash funds for alcohol, tobacco, firearms, pornography, vacations, and lottery tickets, among other things. The bill is expected to be signed by Gov. Paul LePage, who thrust the issue of reforming welfare into the spotlight during his campaigns for governor.

The bill was sponsored by Sen. Nate Libby (D-Lewiston).

This bill finally gives Mainers what they’ve wanted: Meaningful welfare reform the focuses assistance on helping families get out of poverty while ensuring accountability at the cash register,” said Libby. “Taxpayer dollars shouldn’t be used to buy these sorts of products, and Mainers have been surprised to know these kinds of purchases weren’t prohibited before. I want to thank my colleagues for committing to work past our differences and, finally, reach a compromise.”

House Republicans said they’ve been fighting to address the alleged abuse for the past six years while Senate Democrats said Friday’s passage was the result of more than 16 months of negotiations between both chambers and Governor Paul LePage.

To echo Libby’s words, it’s absolutely insane that money that’s intended to help struggling families could be spent on frivolous luxuries like alcohol, porn, and vacations. Maine taxpayers shouldn’t be on the hook for someone’s trip to Disney. Kudos to Maine’s legislators for coming to a compromise and helping to put a stop to this practice.

Are we the only one who literally…quite literally…shudders to think such a corrective action was ever even questioned?!?
