It’s Monday, August 14th, 2017…but before we begin, a few brief thoughts on the Charlottesville violence.

First, as regards the deranged individual who decided to drive down those opposed to White supremacism…

…we say try ‘im and fry ‘im!

Second, The Donald’s condemnation of violence from any side notwithstanding, Barack Hussein Obama is DIRECTLY responsible for the increased level of racial and anti-law enforcement animosity currently coursing through the country, just as Progressive-inspired political correctness is behind the removal of the statue of Robert E. Lee which precipitated the White supremacist protest in the first place.

Third, when it comes to White supremacists of any stripe, we’re Indiana Jones..

…and Joliet Jake:

Unfortunately, though in spirit we’re down with the sentiments expressed in the two previous videos, as well as the mission of 1LT Aldo Raine and his Inglorious Basterds

…that’s NOT how things work under the Constitution of the United States.  And THAT‘s what we’re sworn to protect and defend; NOT what’s out of style on the Manhattan, Georgetown and Hollywood cocktail party circuits.

Which means, without in any way, shape or form supporting their twisted beliefs, we’re also committed to allowing Illinois Nazis (or any other variety thereof!) to express their views in a lawful, public fashion, particularly when they have a permit.

Lastly, we still have no idea whatsoever who started the violence; to the contrary, from what we’ve been able to glean to date, it may well have been (though it remains uncertain) the counter-protestors who turned what was an otherwise peaceful though repugnant protest into a fatal free-for-all.

Then again…

..we’re not a race-hustling, Manchurian Muslim!

Now, here’s The Gouge!

We lead off today’s edition courtesy of NRO, as David French details why, all the Liberal histrionics to the contrary notwithstanding…

Transgenderism Doesn’t Excuse Treason

For some on the left, revolutionary identity politics covers the worst of sins.

If Bradley Manning had stayed Bradley Manning, would he still be in prison? If Bradley Manning had stayed Bradley Manning, would he be basking in celebrity, enjoying fawning photo shoots? Given the magnitude of his crimes, I dare say that he’d be in prison today if he still identified as a man. Then he’d be nothing but what he actually is, a garden-variety traitora faithless soldier who should count himself fortunate not to face capital punishment.

It’s worth remembering what he did. He disclosed, in a gigantic document dump, more than a million pages of classified information, including information about American military operations, American diplomacy, and American allies. The Obama administration was forced to rush to safety foreign friends whom Manning had outed as helping Americans. He broke faith with every relevant provision of the Army’s warrior ethoshe abandoned his mission, he actively aided the enemy, and he acted with stunning disregard for the lives of his comrades. He did so because, acting on his own authority, (and his already-limited intelligence (seriously, PFC’s generally ain’t exactly the sharpest pencils in the box!), further clouded by his transgendered dysfunction!) he decided he wanted to stimulate “worldwide discussion, debate, and reforms.”

To be clear, this wasn’t whistleblowing. He didn’t identify a specific wrong and expose it responsibly while taking care to minimize the harm of disclosure. He just disclosed documents without regard for their contents. He didn’t know if anyone would die because of his actions. He didn’t know to what extent vital missions or programs would be compromised. He just did what he wanted to do. There was no honor in his action. None…”

Here’s the juice: absent his transgendered mental illness…and transgenderism is a mental illness…Bradley Manning (and that in fact is his name!) would have been in Leavenworth for life…or preferably put in front of a firing squad.

In a related item, writing at Townhall.com, Jonah Goldberg records how…

Diversity flaps are often manufactured

“In 2005, the Los Angeles Times hired me as a columnist. That was great news (for me). But the best part was when Barbra Streisand canceled her subscription in protest.

Her real complaint wasn’t so much that the Times had hired me, but that it had dropped Robert Scheer, an old-style, left-wing writer, in the same editorial shakeup. “The greater Southern California community is one that not only proudly embraces its diversity, but demands it,” Streisand wrote in an “open letter” to the newspaper. “Your decision to fire Robert Scheer is a great disservice to the spirit of our community.”

“It seems that your new leadership … is entirely out of touch with your readers and their desire to be exposed to views that stretch them beyond their own paradigms. So although the number of contributors to your Op-Ed pages may have increased, in firing Scheer and hiring columnists such as Jonah Goldberg, the gamut of voices has undeniably been diluted.”

Some might stub their frontal lobes on the idea of a “diluted gamut” (whatever that is). But to paraphrase Boon from “Animal House,” when Bluto reminisced about the Germans bombing Pearl Harbor: “Forget it, she’s rolling.”

Other than boastfulness, I bring this up for a specific reason. Without intending to, Streisand actually managed to synthesize the problem with diversity mania. You see, by bringing me and some other writers aboard, the Times did diversify its editorial fare. In theory, Streisand touted the importance of presenting readers with diverse views (stretched paradigms and all that). But in reality, she wanted to read only views she agreed with. Not only was Scheer a friend of hers, she was his biggest fan. Scheer did not “stretch” her paradigms; he confirmed them.

Moreover, ethnically Scheer and I are almost indistinguishable. We’re also both white males. The only meaningful difference between us, besides age, is that I’m a conservative. When Streisand talked about diversity, she meant a diversity of attributes — sex, ethnicity, skin color, etc. — but not viewpoints. It’s like when Bill Clinton insisted he wanted a Cabinet that “looks like America” but whose members all thought the same way.

The issue here isn’t diversity, but conformity. Everyone must agree with a very narrow dogma about not just sexual equality but the approved ways of enforcing it. At a shareholders meeting in June, Eric Schmidt, chairman of Google parent company Alphabet, said, “The company was founded under the principles of freedom of expression, diversity, inclusiveness and science-based thinking.” He also added: “You’ll also find that all of the other companies in our industry agree with us.”

Exactly: Our gamut is undiluted and our paradigms are made of oak.

Since we’re on the subject of undiluted gamuts and paradigms made of oak, can someone PLEASE explain to us why, after seven months of The Donald’s benevolent dictatorship, THESE TWO PROGRESSIVE PUPPETS

Republicans for Richard Cordray

Trump will pay a price for not firing the Obama holdover.

As if anyone sponsored by Fauxcahontas and nominated by The Obamao could have the best interests of average Americans at heart!

Trump’s IRS Swamp

Obama-era lawyers are still obstructing lawsuits to hold the agency accountable.

“Maybe ‘cuz we’ve got his tax returns!!!”

…are still able to adversely influence the course of the Ship of Stateother than the obvious as expressed above?!?

Which brings us, appropriately enough, to The Lighter Side

And in the Sports SectionMarshawn Lynch (is the Portland school board going to request Marshawn to change his last name?!?) and Raider’s coach Jack del Rio gives us all the reason we needed to miss another NFL season:

Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch sits (and EATS!) during national anthem at preseason NFL game

“On Marshawn, talked to Marshawn trying to make sure we’re on the same page,” the coach [Del Rio] said. He said, ‘This is something I’ve done for 11 years.

Oh, really?!?

It’s not a form of anything other than me being myself.’ I said, ‘So you understand how I feel, I very strongly believe in standing for the national anthem. But I’m going to respect you as a man, you do your thing. We’ll do ours.’ It’s a non-issue for me.

Which is why the NFL’s attendance and viewership continue to plummet.  Ever notice the guys pulling this crap are either has-beens like Lynch and Kaepernick, or on teams with no chance of winning anything other than…

…an early end to their season?!?  Regardless, we appreciate Jack Del Rio and Marshawn Lynch just freed up our Sunday afternoons through early February.

Finally, since we’re on the subject of ignorant ethnics, we’ll call it a day with another sordid story straight from the pages of The Crime Blotter, as yet another gangsta overestimated his immortality:

Rapper gunned down after claims he was ‘bulletproof’ following 11th shooting

“An Atlanta rapper who claimed he was “bulletproof” after being shot for the 11th time last year was gunned down across the street from a police station Sunday, according to reports. Yung Mazi, 31, who had bragged about his ability to survive targeted shootings, was fatally shot at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday outside a pizza restaurant and across the street from a police precinct in the DeKalb County section of Atlanta…”
