…that is, besides the fact the show’s no longer funny.

And since we’re on the subject of “funny”, it’s more than funny it was weeks into the Weinstein exposé before… 

…the two preeminent champions of women’s rights weighed in:

“I was shocked and appalled by the revelations about Harvey Weinstein. The behavior described by women coming forward cannot be tolerated. Their courage and the support of others is critical in helping to stop this kind of behavior.”

“Any man who demeans and degrades women in such a fashion needs to be condemned and held accountable, regardless of wealth or status.”

That is, unless said man is named…

…William Jefferson Clinton.  Then, it’s the victims…

…who are demeaned, degraded and condemned.  If hypocrisy were pus, the Clintons and Obamas would be massive, suppurating boils on the backside of the body politic.

Judge Blocks Texas from Giving Public Voter Data to Trump’s Election Integrity Commission

“A Democrat Texas judge blocked the Secretary of State (TxSOS) from turning over data to President Donald Trump’s Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity from the public voter rolls. The TxSOS is required by state law to turn over the public information to anyone who requests it properly as long as it is not for commercial use.

Judge Tim Sulak, a Democrat who serves on the 353rd District Court located in Travis County, filed a temporary restraining order that prevents TxSOS Rolando Pablos from turning over voter information to the commission established by President Donald Trump in June, according to a spokesman from the TxSOS office.

This action by Judge Sulak follows on the heels of a report from the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) that revealed 12 Texas counties have more registered voters than voting-age adults who live in their county. Those counties are: Loving, Brooks, Irion, McMullen, Kenedy, Jim Hogg, Culberson, Edwards, Roberts, Polk, Kent, and Cottle…”

We’re not a lawyer, but even a non-juris doctor understands a duly enacted state law “trumps” the mere opinion of a state judge…particularly a purely partisan Progressive.

California Hepatitis A Outbreak on Verge of Statewide Epidemic

“The California hepatitis A outbreak is on the verge of reaching statewide epidemic status, as cases have spread through homeless tent cities from San Diego north to Sacramento. California health officials have reported that at least 569 people have been infected with the hepatitis A liver disease and 17 have died since a San Diego County outbreak was first identified in November. Cases have migrated north to homeless populations in Los Angeles, Santa Cruz, San Francisco and Sacramento over the last 11 months.

Although local and state authorities have tried to underplay the risks and severity of the outbreak, the most recent annual totals for cases of hepatitis A in the United States was 1,390 in 2015, according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC). California only reported 179 cases during the same year.

The highly-contagious hepatitis A outbreak may have taken root because of the City of San Diego’s efforts in the run-up to Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game held at Petco Park in July 2016 to push the homeless, and the rampant drug and prostitution trade among them, out of the downtown tourist venues. Those effort included locking public bathrooms and essentially relocating the homeless to the congested tent city encampments that stretch for blocks east of downtown near freeway onramps.

Another explanation may be the city’s decision to ban plastic bags, which deprived homeless people of an alternative means of disposing of human waste when bathrooms were not available.

…California public health officials are desperately scrambling to offer vaccine injections to the homeless, but many in the population are under legal warrants and do everything possible to avoid being identified…”

It would seem, at least in Sacramento and other Liberal-controlled environs, the scourge of criminal illegal aliens doesn’t constitute punishment enough…

…for honest, hard-working, taxpaying Americans.  Why is it the Progressive “If it saves just one life…” mantra doesn’t apply to criminal illegals, ghetto gangbangers, disease-ridden vagrants or unrestricted abortion?!?

ESPN’s Jemele Hill suspended from network for two weeks

Let’s put this in perspective: Hill, as useless, uninformed and obnoxious a talking head as has ever cursed a cable network, was not…NOT, mind you…benched for defaming a sitting President, but rather for urging viewers to boycott the NFL because of Jerry Jones’ belated recognition of his team’s target audience.  In other words, ESPN only found Hill’s tweets objectionable when they were directed at the major contributor to the flailing network’s bottom line.

If hypocrisy were bliss, ESPN would be experiencing Nirvana!

Meanwhile, like Jerry Jones before him, Mr. Commissioner has belatedly grasped the dilemma in which his aiding and abetting of the players anti-American sentiment has placed his league:

Roger Goodell tells NFL owners ‘everyone should stand for the national anthem’

“…Goodell would like players to stand, but the national anthem is not mentioned in the NFL rulebook. However, players “should” stand for the anthem, according to the league’s game operation manual…”

One would think, given his propensity for doublespeak, Goodell is a close relative of the Clintons.  In reality, Roger is an overpaid, appeasing a*sclown on a par with the president of Evergreen College:

And if you care to take the time to research his qualifications, you’ll discover terming Goodell an a*sclown is overly generous.

Then again, given the subject matter of this related item from FOX News, perhaps Goodell’s abject appeasement in reaction to the demands of his largely uneducated charges is merely a sign of the times:

Banana Republic manager said employee’s braids were too ‘urban’ and ‘unkempt’ for store’s image, woman claims

“A Banana Republic employee from New York is claiming she was “humiliated and degraded” by a manager who said her hair was too inappropriate for the workplace.

…“So today I went into work at Banana Republic at the Westchester Mall and after the district manager (a white woman) popped in for a visit, I was told to go to the office to speak with my manager,” wrote Tompkins in a Facebook post on Wednesday evening.

…“He told me that my braids were not Banana Republic appropriate and that they were too ‘urban’ and ‘unkempt’ for their image,” wrote Tompkins, adding that Michael told her he couldn’t allow her to work until she changed her hairstyle. Tompkins tried to explain how the braids keep her hair from drying out, but she alleges that Michael simply recommended she start using shea butter, and sent her back out to the floor.

“I have never been so humiliated and degraded in my life by a white person,” Tompkins wrote. “In that moment, I felt so uncomfortable and overwhelmed that I didn’t even finish my work shift and ended up leaving.”

“Box braids are not a matter of unprofessionalism, they are protective styles black women have used for their hair and to be discriminated against because of it is truly disgusting and unacceptable,” she added. “Make this public bc [the people at Banana Republic] need to be exposed for their blatant racism and discrimination. There’s no reason why a white person should feel allowed to tell me that I can’t wear my hair the way that I want bc it’s too black for their store image.”

Well, duh…he’s your boss!  In all seriousness, this what happens when tender flowers meet the real world.  We’ve highlighted above in red the major inconsistency in Tompkins’ tale, while evidence of her own undeniable racism is emphasized in maroon.

Truth is, Banana Republic may well decide to stand with this imbecile rather than support their manager; but if they do, they’ll be sowing the wind, and will eventually reap a whirlwind of employees who decide to take other, even more indefensibly idiotic “stands”.

Columbus, the West, and the Myth of the Noble Savage

“…It is now clear that the campaign against monuments to Columbus has always has been and remains a campaign designed to subvert the Western world’s historic identity as a predominantly European (white) and Christian civilization.

…In attacking monuments to historically famous white men, the vandals strike blows against, not this or that aspect of the Western world, and certainly not this or that person.  They attack, and mean to attack, the very being of the West. The enemies of Columbus convict the West with having introduced violence to the New World, a “Native American” idyll in which indigenous peoples lived in total harmony with one another and nature.

This, though, is a Big Lie.

For starters, those who were long recognized as American Indians constituted anything but a monolith but, rather, many tribes or nations. Secondly, American Indians comprised numerous tribes or nations that were continuously at war with one another. Thirdly, these wars were distinctively bloody and savage.

The Myth of the Noble Savage, a uniquely European fiction that Columbus himself initially endorsed, has long exposed as just that by anthropological and archaeological research. Consider the Yellowknives, a tribe that once inhabited Canada. It has no present descendants, and for a very good reason: The Dogrib Indians launched a series of massacres against its members, effectively purging them from the planet. (Can you say “genocide”?!?)

There’s also evidence of plenty of intra-tribal warfare. Between the borderlands of what is now Brazil and Venezuela, the various Yanomami tribes would continually slaughter each other for purposes of status or in order to abduct female members. When Yanomami warred with others, like the Macu, they would enslave the latter’s members. Studies have found that over a third of Yanomami males died from warfare.

In his War Before Civilization: The Myth of the Peaceful Savage, the professor of archaeology Laurence H. Keeley determines that only about 13% or so of the indigenous population(s) of the New World did not partake of warfare annually.  

Some Indian groups observed the practice of collecting human scalps as trophies. The Iroquois would slowly torture to death their victims—men, women, and teenage boys—over a period of many days.  Torture was a ritual. It was also a communal event, a public spectacle, in which everyone, including the children, participated.  If the prisoner of war was a “warrior,” he was expected to remain stoic during his tribulations and even sing “death songs.”

Captives were burned, not over a pyre, but by way of hot coals that were applied individually to exposed body parts over an extended tract of time.  Additionally, the tortured were stabbed with knives and beaten with sticks and switches.Their fingernails were ripped out and their fingers broken.  Children would then yank and twist the broken fingers.  Captives were made to consume pieces of their own flesh.

To insure that the ritual lasted for as long as possible, those who lost consciousness while being brutalized were revived with food and water so that their torture could resume. Eventually, they were scalped…alive.

Those tribes that inhabited the American Northwest would enslave war captives to such an extent that an enduring slave class formed. Slaves were regularly traded and given as gifts.

In South Dakota, over 100 years before Columbus was born, about 60% of the members of a tribe at Crow Creek were murdered. Archaeologists found a mass grave containing the remains of over 500 men, women, and children who had not just been killed, but dismembered and scalped.  About 800 dwellings were destroyed, burned to the ground. Those who survived appear to have been young women who, it is believed, were taken as captives.

Not only is it a great lie that the West introduced violence to a world that had never known it.  It is a lie as well that the West made a relatively violent world of indigenous peoples more violent…

…None of these facts are intended to deny, much less justify, those injustices that some American Indians undoubtedly suffered at the hands of some European explorers. They are, though, meant to undermine guilt-inducing lies regarding Columbus, yes, but, ultimately, Western or European civilization.
