It’s Monday, November 25th, 2019…but before we begin, submitted for your perusal, the latest prevarication from a prominent Progressive who, as the prophet Jeremiah wrote, has taught their tongue to lie:

Obama claims Hampton Inn is his preferred hotel because of its simplicity

Yeah, simplicity: it’s always been the Obamas’…

hallmark!

First up, a story within a story, as the WSJ informs us…

Navy Secretary Richard Spencer Resigns Amid Controversy Over Navy SEAL

Defense Secretary Mark Esper asked for Spencer’s resignation

Mr. Spencer said he had attempted to make a deal with the White House in which President Trump would allow the Navy to conduct an internal Navy review of Chief Gallagher, but that he would then be allowed to retire with his Trident pin, the revered symbol of his membership in the elite commando force. But Mr. Esper only learned of these efforts after the fact, and thus lost confidence in Mr. Spencer.

“I am deeply troubled by this conduct shown by a senior DOD official.” Mr. Esper said in a statement. “Unfortunately, as a result I have determined that Secretary Spencer no longer has my confidence to continue in his position…”

What drew our attention wasn’t Chief Gallagher’s guilt or innocence, or the story itself; rather it was the import of one paragraph contained in it:

Mr. Spencer, a former Marine, said that he couldn’t “in good conscience obey an order that I believe violates the sacred oath I took in the presence of my family, my flag and my faith to support and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

u?!?  Last time we checked, not only is Trump several pay grades above Spencer in the chain of command, but as President possesses the power to pardon anyone convicted of federal crimes, including the subject of a court-martial.

Thus, when given a lawful order by his COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF, regardless of what his “conscience” dictated…or what he “believed”…or what some angel on his shoulder whispered in his ear…Mr. Spencer’s DUTY and OATH OF OFFICE dictated he support and defend the Constitution of the United States by u.

This reminds us of the idiocy displayed by Gordon Sondland in his testimony during the Ukraine Kangaroo Kourt:

Thus do beliefs, presumptions, feelings and “penumbras, formed by emanationssupplant facts.

Sorry, but if these clowns want to act as President, they need to get elected President.

John Solomon Drops 28 Uncomfortable Facts Crushing The ‘Debunked Conspiracy Theory’ Narrative

“…I want to exercise my right to debate Lt. Col. Vindman about the testimony he gave about me. You see, under oath to Congress, he asserted all the factual elements in my columns at The Hill about Ukraine were false, except maybe my grammar.

Here are his exact words: “I think all the key elements were false,” Vindman testified.

Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y, pressed him about what he meant. Just so I understand what you mean when you say key elements, are you referring to everything John Solomon stated or just some of it?”

All the elements that I just laid out for you. The criticisms of corruption were false…Were there more items in there, frankly, congressman? I don’t recall. I haven’t looked at the article in quite some time, but you know, his grammar might have been right.”

Such testimony has been injurious to my reputation, one earned during 30 years of impactful reporting for news organizations that included The Associated Press, The Washington Post, The Washington Times and The Daily Beast/Newsweek.

And so Lt. Col. Vindman, here are the 28 primary factual elements in my Ukraine columns, complete with attribution and links to sourcing. Please tell me which, if any, was factually wrong.

Lt. Col. Vindman, if you have information that contradicts any of these 28 factual elements in my columns I ask that you make it publicly available. Your testimony did not.

If you don’t have evidence these 28 facts are wrong, I ask that you correct your testimony because any effort to call factually accurate reporting false only misleads America and chills the free debate our Constitutional framers so cherished to protect.

This from a ROTC SUNY Binghamton grad; not exactly…

Guess all the Ukrainian set-asides to The Point were taken!

Inspired by the great Stilton Jarlsberg, we’re of the mind to suggest, after hearing the call of his country to serve, LT COL Vindman answered the self-serving siren call of Adam Schiff-for-Brains’ Call of Doody

…and suddenly began…like so many members of the FBI before him… to think of his personal possibilities under whichever Socialist Administration succeeded the current occupant of the Oval Office.

We found Schiff-for-Brains’ reference to Mr. Vindman having acted out of duty particularly ironic, as his testimony revealed the LT COL didn’t know sh*t…let alone his duty!

All of which leads us to ask…

As School District Implements Busing Over Near-Unanimous Opposition, Chinese Immigrants See Communism

“…Board member Kirsten Coombs voted “no” after board member Jennifer Mallo motioned to move a swath of children out of their schools to try to balance poverty rates. It failed 4-3, and people clapped.I move that we go into recess to consider the impact of the failure of that last motion,” Mallo said.

Coombs appeared to be crying when they came out of the back room and said the board should vote again “because otherwise the entire plan falls apart.”

The board redid the vote, with Coombs’ voice cracking as she said “yes.” The vote was part of a series taken by the board that, together, resulted in the large-scale moving of children to different schools based on their parents’ income, effective in 2020.

Residents of the center-left county are in shock that the board passed a busing plan will move about 5,300 children from their neighborhood schools to balance poverty, despite almost unanimous opposition in the testimony the board heard, and the school system’s own data showing no connection between equal demographics of schools and more equal performance of demographic groups.

Sarah Bedair, a resident who testified before the board, told the Daily Caller News Foundation that the board received 6,650 pieces of verbal and written testimony opposing the plan and 150 pieces of testimony in support of it…”

NOW do you understand the thinking behind the immediate move to impeach Trump?!?

What Chick-fil-A’s Dan Cathy Told Franklin Graham About the Company Stopping Donations to Christian Charities

“After news that Chick-fil-A would cut its donations to three Christian charities, Rev. Franklin Graham decided to pick up the phone and call the company’s CEO, Dan Cathy, to find out exactly what was going on.

“Dan was very clear that they have not bowed down to anyone’s demands, including the LGBTQ community. They will continue to support whoever they want to support,” he continued. “They haven’t changed who they are or what they believe. Chick-fil-A remains committed to Christian values. Dan Cathy assured me that this isn’t going to change.”

Graham said he hopes “all those who jumped to the wrong conclusion about” Chick-fil-A read his post.

While the conversation may have reassured Graham, others were not so easily convinced.

Mat Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, said Graham did a “huge disservice” by not asking more questions about the company’s “betrayal and capitulation to the LGBT agenda.”

“While Dan Cathy may say the company has the same values, the company’s statements and actions tell a different story,” Staver said, pointing to the company expanding its partnership with Covenant House, a group he says “celebrates homosexuality, transgenderism, and the entire LGBTQ agenda.”…”

Sorry, but we’re throwing the…

…on this one.

You can access Covenant House’s website here for yourself.  While we could detect no overtly celebratory view of homosexuality, neither could we find any reference whatsoever to Christ or Christianity.  Yet, again, Cathy cut funding to the Salvation Army and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, whose only discernible sin is their strict adherence to the commands of God Almighty as set forth in the Bible.

We’re not judging…just choosing not to frequent Mr. Cathy’s establishment or franchises.

World Climate Declaration: “There is no climate emergency

A new, high-level global network of more than 700 prominent climate scientists and professionals has submitted a declaration that there is no “climate emergency”.

The group’s letter warns European leaders that “the general-circulation models of climate on which international policy is at present founded are unfit for their purpose”.

The Declaration adds that the models, which have predicted far more warming than they should, “are not remotely plausible as policy tools”, in that “they…exaggerate the effect of greenhouse gases such as CO2” and “ignore the fact that enriching the atmosphere with CO2 is beneficial…”

The list of the 700+ declarants includes numerous PhDs, along with a Nobel Laureate; but what are their conclusions, however well-informed, compared to the feelings of…

Myles Garrett racial slur allegation draws fierce reaction from Steelers, Browns players

“…Garrett made the allegation during the appeal of his indefinite suspension Wednesday, ESPN reported. The allegation wasn’t made in any of the days after the brawl, though Garrett was asked by reporters whether Rudolph said anything to him that made him go berserk.

While Garrett said he “knows what he heard,” the NFL said it found “no such evidence” that Rudolph used a slur. Garrett’s indefinite suspension was upheld…”

“Alejandro Villanueva also defended Rudolph, according to The Athletic. “I think using any kind of racial slurs has no place in our country whatsoever, but I think fabricating a story where somebody used a racial slur is a lot more damaging,” he said.

As Jim Geraghty recently noted

“You’re already hearing the comparisons of Garrett to actor Jussie Smollett. While it’s theoretically possible that Rudolph used the slur, and no other player heard it, (AND none of the NFL’s multitudinous on-field microphones picked it up!) and Garrett chose not to mention it to anyone else for an entire week before choosing to tell the league in his appeal…many will choose to believe a simpler explanation: Garrett lost his temper, did something terrible, and when facing the end of his 2019 season (along with a HUGE amount of cash!) and a possible penalty carrying over into 2020, made a false accusation to make his actions seem justifiable, in hopes that the league would reduce his punishment.

To which we can only add a hearty “AMEN“!

Magoo
