It’s Monday, November 7th, 2022…but before we begin, we’re in total agreement with Bobby Miller’s take at NRO

Don’t Dither, DeSantis

Yesterday, in light of rumors that DeSantis “will not run if Trump does,” my colleague Isaac Schorr eloquently explained (again) why Ron DeSantis shouldn’t back down from challenging former president Donald Trump in 2024. I second that assertion. However, I would add that the risk of losing momentum is also something the Florida governor might want to keep in mind.

Momentum is everything in politics. It’s why many Democrats lament that they “peaked” too early in this midterm-election cycle. If DeSantis loses steam between now and 2028 and fades from the spotlight, who’s to say he’ll regain it? Six years is eons in political time, and it’s almost certain Trump is running again. The only question now is whether DeSantis will stop him from becoming the next Benjamin NetanyahuLula da Silva, or Grover Cleveland.

When making this decision, DeSantis might want to heed the advice of hip-hop artist Eminem, who famously said, “You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow. This opportunity comes once in a lifetime.”

Here’s the juice: The fact The Donald has already dubbed Florida’s governor DeSanctimonious demonstrates not only the immaturity of this pompous ass, but his lack of respect for anyone he views as a threat to him; NOT a threat to the cause of Conservatism; NOT a threat to the Republican Party; NOT a threat to the country or the Constitution; Rather a threat to the personal goals and aspirations of Donald J. Trump, Jr.  And it’s precisely why it’s so important the man with all of Trump’s limited assets and none of his numerous liabilities needs to step up immediately following his reelection in Florida.

DeSantis needs to emphasize that last, all-important point, what differentiates him from The Donald, refuse to stoop to the level of Trump’s childish attacks and utterly destroy the man with his command of the facts and issues in the first debate of the Republican primary.  If he has Mike Pompeo as his Veep, all the better.

Here’s a second shot of the juice: The more Trump says, the less we like him…and the more we hope and pray some non-fatal event prevents him running again.

Now, here’s The Gouge!

First up, further proof…as if any were needed…if you want to know what activities Progressives are already conducting, just look at what they accuse Conservatives of planning:

Yes, this supposed MSLSD “historian” actually said if Republicans win control of Congress, not only will Democracy die, “children will be arrested and conceivably killed”.  Unlike the baby vacuumed up in the NPR audio, who was deliberately killed after they were definitively conceived!

Next up, in the Tell Us Something We Didn’t Already Know segment, FOX informs us…

House Republicans release 1,000-page report alleging politicization in the FBI, DOJ

Whistleblowers say FBI is ‘rotted at its core’ in Republican report on alleged misconduct

“…“The Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the stewardship of Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland, is broken,” the GOP report states. “The problem lies not with the majority of front-line agents who serve our country, but with the FBI’s politicized bureaucracy.”

Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee say this report is “the first comprehensive accounting of the FBI’s problems to date, which undermine the FBI’s fundamental law-enforcement mission.”

The report features testimony from whistleblowers who describe FBI leadership in Washington, D.C., as “rotted at its core.” They allege a “systemic culture of unaccountability” and say the bureau is beset by “rampant corruption, manipulation, and abuse.”…”

Sorry, but given the activities we’ve seen rank and file FBI agents involved in of late, we’d say this bureaucratic apple is rotten to its very core.

The men and women of the FBI devote themselves to protecting the American people from terrorism, violent crime, cyber threats and other dangers. Put quite simply: we follow the facts without regard for politics. While outside opinions and criticism often come with the job, we will continue to follow the facts wherever they lead, do things by the book, and speak through our work.

“Speak though our work”.  Yes,…let’s remind America of some of the FBI’s “by the book” work: J. Edgar Hoover private files, Whitey Bulger, Ruby Ridge, Waco, Russiagate, Jim Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, Hillary’s emails, the armed raids on Roger Stone’s home and Mar a Lago.  Oh, THAT “by the book” work!

Since we’re on the subject of repeat, patent prevaricators…

Biden says coal plants ‘all across America’ will be shut down, replaced with wind and solar

Biden argued that it’s ‘cheaper’ to generate electricity from wind and solar than it is from coal

President Biden said Friday that coal plants are too expensive to operate, and “we’re going to be shutting these plants down all across America” in order to shift to wind power in a comment that drew criticism from the Republican National Committee.

“I was in Massachusetts about a month ago on the site of the largest old coal plant in America,” Biden said at an event in Carlsbad, California, on Friday. “Guess what? It cost them too much money. They can’t count. No one is building new coal plants because they can’t rely on it. Even if they have all the coal guaranteed for the rest of the existence of the plant.

“So it’s going to become a wind generation. And all they’re doing is it’s going to save them a hell of a lot of money and using the same transmission line that they transmitted the coal-fired electric on, we’re going to be shutting these plants down all across America and having wind and solar power, also providing tax credits to help families buy energy efficient appliances, whether it’s your refrigerator or your coffee maker, for solar panels on your home, weatherize your home, things that save an average, experts say, a minimum of $500 a year for the average family.”

Biden added that it is “cheaper to generate electricity from wind and solar than it is from coal and oil.”

“Literally cheaper,” the president said. “Not a joke.”

For once, Biden’s right: What he claims IS NOT a joke, just one, continuous bald-faced lie from start to finish; quite literally every word he spoke.  And in a debate, Ron DeSantis would have exposed every single one of them, from the relative reliability and cost of coal compared to wind and solar to the non-existent cost savings of new, expensive, “energy-efficient”, limited life-span appliances.  More lies from the serial prevaricator who recently baselessly claimed Trump termed Paul Pelosi’s assailant a patriot.

Meanwhile, having single-handedly made possible the Inflation Resurgence Act which greatly exacerbated existing pricing pressures, a bill which gives hundreds of billions to useless green energy initiatives run by Dimocratic donors, Joe Manchin suddenly found religion:

Manchin Blasts Biden’s ‘Offensive and Disgusting’ Promise to Shut Down Coal Plants and Worsen Inflation

“…In a scathing statement, Manchin called Biden’s comments “outrageous … offensive and disgusting” and said Biden’s remarks “ignore the severe economic pain the American people are feeling because of rising energy costs”:

“President Biden’s comments are not only outrageous and divorced from reality, they ignore the severe economic pain the American people are feeling because of rising energy costs. Comments like these are the reason the American people are losing trust in President Biden and instead believes he does not understand the need to have an all in energy policy that would keep our nation totally energy independent and secure. It seems his positions change depending on the audience and the politics of the day. Politicizing our nation’s energy policies would only bring higher prices and more pain for the American people”…”

Thanks, Manchin, but you’ve stuck it to your constituents enough while soaking up the sweeteners readily available in the Senate.  Something tells us when 2024 rolls around, Joe won’t be running unopposed, assuming he runs at all.

Then there’s this titillating tale from across the pone, as FOX reports…

King Charles had valets squeeze out his own toothpaste, hand-wash underpants, royal author claims

“…Royal author Christopher Andersen has written a new book titled “The King: The Life of Charles III,” for which he spoke to numerous sources about Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest son. The book, which is set to be published Tuesday, reveals many surprising details about “one of the most eccentric sovereigns Great Britain has ever had.”

Andersen alleges that former valet Michael Fawcett was in charge of squeezing toothpaste onto the royal’s monogrammed toothbrush, as well as shaving his face, and helping him put on trousers and his shoes. Fawcett also allegedly laid out the 73-year-old’s pajamas.

Andersen also claimed that Charles’ former nanny, Mabel Andersen, was brought out of retirement to mend his childhood teddy bear…”

We certainly can’t speak to the accuracy of Andersen’s assertions, but such quirkiness would explain Charles ditching Diana for Camilla.

Moving on, here’s a septet of specially-selected items certain to satisfy the cravings of inquiring Conservative minds:

(1). Speaking of idle idiots who’ve never done anything to earn their keep, Joe Biden claims to have been a professor, despite never teaching a single student, essentially doing nothing whatsoever to merit his nearly $1,000,000 stipend.

(2). As regards NBC reporting, then promptly retracting without explanation new revelations about the attack on Paul Pelosi, one Matt Whitlock tweeted…

It certainly doesn’t dispel legitimate suspicions when San Francisco authorities still refuse to release neither body camera footage from the responding officers nor a recording of the 911 call Pelosi placed, and the U.S. Capitol Police, who were quite literally asleep at the switch, have said they won’t be releasing the footage their cameras recorded of the break-in.

(3). The horrid harpy widely considered the most racist person on television has been terminated by MSDNC.  Tiffany Cross was perhaps best known for declaring the recent concussion suffered by Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was incontrovertible evidence White coaches are racially biased against Black players, claiming the Dolphin’s White coach Mike McDaniel allowed him back on the field to suffer a second concussion because he devalued “Black bodies.”

Yeah,…except Tagovailoa is Samoan, NOT Black, and Mike McDaniel isn’t White, but biracial, which, by Obama and Tiger standards, makes him BLACK.

Proving racists of a feather flock together, Joy Reid remarked:

Before I go, I really do just want to say one quick thing about my friend, colleague and sister Tiffany Cross,” an emotional Reid began. “She’s not just my friend, she’s my sister. I love her, I support her, I was boosting for her to get the show that she created, the Cross Connection, which she put her heart and soul into everyday.”

The “ReidOut” host then took aim at Cross’s critics on the “far right” who are “attacking her on a social media app that I won’t name.”

You don’t understand how sisters move,” Reid told critics. “So, watch this space. We will be here, her sisters will be here to support anything Tiffany Cross ever does. Know that. Believe that.”

To be considered the most racist personality on television is quite an achievement considering the competition:

Here’s hoping Reid’s and Sharpton’s necks are next on the MSDNC chopping block.

(4). Over at NRO, Itxu Diaz delves into the new ecoterrorism, explaining what’s behind the ludicrous and headline-grabbing attacks on priceless works of art.

(5). You have to appreciate this video of Dimocratic strategist Hillary Rosen warning, “I just think that we did not listen to voters in this election, and I think we’re going to have a bad night“, after which one of her fellow CNN pundits perfectly illustrates her point by not listening to her.

(6). While we’re not surprised five U.S. destinations made National Geographic’s “25 Best of the World” travel list, we’re shocked

…one of the five was MilwaukeeMilwaukee…on a Top-25 world travel list…seriously?!?  One wonders if Detroit or East St. Louis was #26.

Which brings us, appropriately enough, to The Lighter Side:

Then there’s this from the great Geffoir…

…along with this photo from Major Jon showing the hottest modification on the NASCAR circuit:

Finally, we’ll call it a wrap with yet another sordid story straight from the pages of The Crime Blotter, and this just in from the Cheat-to-Beat capital of MLB:

Houston man shot 8-year-old boy after kids’ argument, stole catalytic converters while out on bond

A Houston man received a 45-year prison sentence Wednesday for shooting an 8-year-old boy in the knee when the child got into an argument with his son, authorities said. Richard Spiller, 31, allegedly (Since he’s been convicted, can we please drop the “allegedly”?!?) fired into a crowd of people on April 5, 2019, after the altercation between the boys, authorities said. He initially faced life in prison and allegedly (Need we repeat ourselves?!?) stole catalytic converters from city vehicles while out on bail.

“This repeat offender shot an 8-year-old and then, while free on bond, was arrested for stealing catalytic converters from City of Houston vehicles,” Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said. “He has had enough second chances, and he cannot be trusted to live by the rules in our society…”

The thought crossed our mind, had Mr. Spiller accidentally died while in police custody, the city of Houston might be erecting a statue in honor of this career criminal, and idolizing him as a martyr.  Just sayin’.

BTW, with all due respect to our many Houston friends, the Astros are proof sometimes cheaters do in fact prosper!

Magoo

P.S. And a VERY special Happy Birthday goes out to our good friends Trina Santry, Pat Petty and, of course, ourselves!

Video of the Day

At the risk of seeming to beat a dead Dimocratic horse, Tucker is spot on with his assessment of Progressive propaganda.

Tales of The Darkside

Yes, Hillary, Republicans offer no solution to increasing crime…outside of incarcerating violent criminals for life!!!

On the Lighter Side

Joy Reid: Ugly, racist AND a liar who obviously believes the American electorate to be stupid!
