It’s Monday, December 12th, 2022…and here’s wishing our youngest son Travis a VERY happy 33rd birthday!

But before we begin, just when we thought the depth of their detachment from reality couldn’t deepen, Progressives once again prove us wrong, as a…

Feminist rants against Rite Aid locking up baby items: ‘Just let people steal the f—ing diapers

Jessica Valenti connected locked-up diapers to the Supreme Court ‘forcing childbirth’ onto women

Such patent nonsense born of economic ignorance brings two video clips immediately to mind, the first from Billy Madison

…the second from Seinfeld:

Yes, if you thought Jessica Valenti’s comment indicates she has no concept whatsoever how business works, you’re right.

On the other hand, a Baltimore teacher who has in the past stated “professionalism is a patriarchal and White supremacist myth” demonstrates a complete understanding of how America’s public education system works:

Not “sike”, but rather in both cases, “psycho”!  Seeing as Progressives hold gender to be a fluid state of mind, we’ll leave the last word to Josey Wales:

Now, here’s The Gouge!

First up, NRO‘s Andy McCarthy details…

How Russiagate Was Used to Justify FBI Election Interference

The false collusion narrative of 2016 became the pretext for the bureau to put its thumb on the scale for Joe Biden in 2020.

“…Wading through this endless saga, it’s easy to miss the forest for the trees. At this point, what matters most is not the wayward history of the 2016 election. What matters most is what imperils our democracy: the government’s reliance on that history to justify abuses of power in the here and now.

Since 2016, the FBI has become much more aggressive in policing the free press and political speech. To justify this aggression, it has relied on the allegation, made by blatantly partisan current and former national-security officials, that Russia endangered American democracy through diabolical cyber machinations aimed at defeating Hillary Clinton. In the 2020 election, the bureau collaborated with congressional Democrats to push the bogus narrative that the Post’s reporting — its allegations that members of Joe Biden’s family leveraged his political influence into millions of dollars in foreign money — was “Russian disinformation.” Not content with that, the FBI also encouraged social-media platforms to suppress the reporting. And on the eve of the election, 51 national-security pooh-bahs followed the bureau’s lead, peddling the fiction that the Hunter Biden laptop was a Kremlin plant.

This was profound, counter-constitutional interference in our elections by our government. Yet, we’re expected to tolerate it because of Clinton-campaign-generated spin about Russian hacking that didn’t affect the outcome of the 2016 election, that the government’s lawyers refuse to raise even when — as in Assange’s extradition proceedings — raising it would seem to be in the government’s interest, that federal prosecutors apparently can’t prove, and that may not have happened at all.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not convinced that our totally nonpartisan, highly professional, utterly scrupulous government is being straight with us.

Here’s the juice: We’re afraid, as this meme courtesy of Balls suggests, the unconstitutional/criminal activities of the DOJ/FBI are just…

…the tip of the iceberg.

Next, courtesy of Ed Hickey, in what could be the most powerful refutation of the victim mentality Progressives have been peddling for decades ever, one Derrick Wilburn exposes the destructive lies behind Black Lies Matter and CRT:

Meanwhile, FOX informs us …

Mike Pompeo says Griner-Bout swap makes it ‘more likely’ celebrities will be taken hostage

Biden’s deal with Russia “creates the wrong incentives for the bad guys

“…Pompeo told Fox News Sunday anchor Shannon Bream that the Trump administration – in which he served – was careful not to create incentives for U.S. adversaries when negotiating prisoner exchanges. “The Trump administration was always very clear,” he said. “We weren’t going to trade bad guys for celebrities because it creates the wrong incentives for the bad guys as we go forward. It’s not good for American national security. It’s not good for people who are traveling across the world.”

Pompeo said the Biden administration’s deal with Russia sends the wrong message to America’s enemies, and that people “of notoriety” traveling abroad are less safe today because of it. “My mission was always to get every American back but at the same time not create the risk that more Americans would be taken in,” he said. “There is no doubt that today not just Vladimir Putin, but all the bad guys, the Iranians, those who hold Americans in detention, see that if you take a celebrity, the chance of getting one of your bad guys back out of American control is greater.”

“I think for people out there of notoriety, it is more likely they will be taken hostage today, and that is not a good policy,” he added…”

Then again, why should Biden’s approach to hostage negotiations be any less counterproductive and perilous for America than his other policies?!?

In a related item, view this Tucker clip, then consider…

…the complete perversity at the heart of Progressivism.

In all seriousness, ask yourself, prior to her arrest for violating Russia’s weed laws, how many people had ever heard of Brittany Griner, let alone knew she was a lesbian?  We’d suggest even Van Jones, his labeling her an “icon” notwithstanding, hadn’t the faintest clue.

Here’s a second shot of the juice: As Emily Watson’s composite character in Chernobyl so succinctly stated:

The unfortunate truth is Progressives are as much a stranger to the concept of honesty, intellectual or otherwise, as Bill Clinton is to Hillary’s bed.

Moving on, here’s a sextet of items certain to pique the interest of inquiring Conservative minds:

(1). In what ranks up there with the greatest acts of woke hypocrisy ever, the Metzger Bar and Butchery, the Richmond, VA establishment which refused to serve a party from a Christian group, inexplicably claims to have “always prided itself on being an inclusive environment for people to dine in“.  You know, inclusiveexcept for Christians.  Can these people truly not see the irreconcilable inconsistency of their position?!?

(2). This story from the Peach State brings three thoughts to mind: (i) If playing Russian Roulette is a bad idea, using live ammo while doing so is worse; (ii) Bad cops are equal-opportunity offenders; and, (iii) With no disrespect whatsoever to the departed, his demise likely deepened the gene pool.

(3). Writing at NRO, Seth Cropsey correctly concludes culture-war intrusion at the service academies, including the Naval Academy, our alma mater, hurts not just public trust in the military but also its combat readiness.

And if you thought the rot in our Military is restricted to the nation’s service academies, this item from Gateway Pundit forwarded by Nick should disabuse you of such a notion:

(4). As if the fine and possible jail time if convicted for his first heist weren’t enough, Sam Brinton has been busted AGAIN for stealing a lady’s luggage, this time from the Vegas airport baggage claim.

(5). In an interview with Fox 5 New York, Dr. Faux Chi said while he believes future decisions about implementing restrictions should be left up to the discretion of local health authorities, he knows that people “don’t like being told what to do.”

No, Tony; What people don’t like is being LIED TO BY POLITICALLY-MOTIVATED HEALTH HACKS LIKE YOURSELF from the beginning to end of a scamdemic you helped create, and being subject to COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY, INEFFECTIVE AND INDEED COUNTERPRODUCTIVE RESTRICTIONS AND MANDATES which destroyed the U.S. economy and failed to protect the most vulnerable, while at the same time limiting the impact and spread of the virus in the least

(6). Charlie Cooke relates the curious case of Rebekah Jones, the disgraced “whistleblower” who was fired from the Florida Department of Health for lying about being pressured by her superiors to falsify WuFlu statistics in the early months of the scamdemic to hide the extent of Florida’s outbreak.  It seems Jones signed a Deferred Prosecution Agreement with Florida requiring both a fine and an admission of guilt, after which she claimed Florida had dismissed the case against her for a hefty payment and continues to raising money on a Go Fund Me page.  Having thus violated the terms of her agreement, the State of Florida is free to move forward with her prosecution, a step we hope Ron DeSantis endorses.

In the meantime, we hope Ms. Jones avails herself of the services of a licensed mental-health professional also required under her agreement.

Which brings us, appropriately enough, to The Lighter Side:

Then there’s these from Ed Hicky:

We thought that last one a particularly good idea…except for the fact so many illegals are also sexual predators.

Finally, we’ll call it a wrap by marking the passing of a true legend:

Joe Kittenger, Air Force pilot who parachuted from 19 miles above Earth dead at 94

There’s no way you can visualize the speed,” the Tampa native told Florida Trend magazine in 2011. “There’s nothing you can see to see how fast you’re going. You have no depth perception. If you’re in a car driving down the road and you close your eyes, you have no idea what your speed is. It’s the same thing if you’re free falling from space. There are no signposts. You know you are going very fast, but you don’t feel it. You don’t have a 614-mph wind blowing on you. I could only hear myself breathing in the helmet.

Our maternal grandmother gave us book from National Geographic containing a number of short accounts of exploration around the globe, and Kittenger’s jump was one of them.  These iconic photos chronicling his death-defying deed remain emblazoned in our memory:

Now, to quote the late Paul Harvey, the REST of the story, as Joe Kittinger did far more than make three giant leaps for mankind:

Kittinger stayed in the Air Force after his jumps and served three tours of duty during the Vietnam War. In May of 1972, he was shot down but ejected from his F-4 and was later captured, spending 11 months in a Hanoi prisoner-of-war camp and undergoing tortureHe was denied medical attention and given no more than a few swallows of water at a time for days on end, forcing him to cleanse a leg wound with urine to prevent a dangerous infection.

Kittinger flew 93 types of aircraft, holds the world record for fastest free fall and highest parachute jump, ejected twice from crippled jets, and was the first person to complete a solo balloon flight nonstop across the Atlantic Ocean.

He retired from the Air Force in 1978…”

To borrow a line from The Raindrops…

RIP, Colonel Kittinger.

Tales of The Darkside

In a forward from Nick, Mark Dice emphasizes the truth of the old adage, if you stand for nothing you’ll believe…and/or promote…anything! As Dice says, this is right out of Sodom and Gomorrah. And how on earth is Mitt Romney’s niece the chair of the Republican Party?!?
